Yes that would certainly assist but would it paper over the cracks?

It would very much help but perhaps it then buys time for a better minimum level, a better consistency of performance and principles.

I’ve felt that our best performances under Manning have been much better than we’ve seen for years, so the highs are higher. So that gives me some confidence that there are some positives to focus on. As you say we need to find the consistency - our lows are still as low as they ever were. I think the players have been guilty of believing the hype after Southampton, Boro, West Ham and Forest. They just weren’t at it v QPR and Sheff Wed and we won’t get consistency until they (or new players) can do it game after game relentlessly.

Well that makes it look a lot more reasonable.

Would also help parents with the reallocation of tickets if a midweek game is likely to end too late for their kids to attend.

Yes, I suspect we’ll get something like that ticket exchange (basically the ability to sell your seat) at some point - especially when we get to the PL.

A few Premier League clubs do this now, usually with the option of selling back to the club as well as offering it to friends

    Yes Arsenal have this:

     WHAT IS SEAT UTILISATION?

A seat is considered ‘utilised’ if you have either:

    • Attended yourself
    • Used the Ticket Transfer service to transfer your ticket(s) – provided the recipient(s) attends the fixture
    • Posted your ticket(s) on Ticket Exchange - regardless of whether it’s purchased

USING TICKET TRANSFER & TICKET EXCHANGE

We encourage you to use both Ticket Exchange and Ticket Transfer to ensure you reach the minimum utilisation threshold. This also gives other supporters the opportunity to get behind the team in the stadium when you’re not able to attend. These services can be accessed via your Online Box Office account.

Please refer to our guides for more information on how to use these services.

This season mid table is acceptable.
next season top 10, AT LEAST and then a push for the play offs the next season.

But hoping we can push next season for the play offs

Yep. I’ve said it before but promotion in 2025-26 would have a certain symmetry - exactly 50 years since last time. (Just think of the pre-match commemorations that future generations will be able to experience!)

I haven’t read the whole of this thread so this has probably already been mentioned, but one of the problems is the cumbersome system for transferring a ticket. Every now and then my daughter can’t make games. In the past I’d give my daughter’s season card to my step-daughter to use, but now with it being a pain in the backside to transfer the ticket the seat is just left empty instead.

I found it surprisingly easy when I did it.

We've had one Saturday 3pm kick-off at home in 2024.

In December, we also had only one Saturday 3pm kick off.

At a time where only ~6% of people work 9-5 hours combined with the number of games that do not kick off on a traditional match day at a traditional time, I think you will continue to see empty seats on a game by game basis.

I fully expect more empty seats next season with the new TV deal - more matches on TV and at different times.

Imho I think the club believe they already have, ie Max Bird.

Not wholly like for like, but I think they see Bird playing in CM, and that’s one less place for someone like James, King and / or Williams.

I think so too. Another goal and an assist for Bird last night.
