massively cheaper on the train with british rail and no having to pay in advance couple of quid return to london. Saw City at Southend 3000 maybe there on on a friday stayed over (Cooper sacked) train to London with 20+ City fans to see Arsenal Forest pay on the gate league cup semi on  saturday for £1 on the North Bank and 50000 + crowd. Barely afford a drink now.

As an aside, although I loved Terry Cooper, our performance at that Southend match (Friday 11 March 1988) was dire. I was at university in Essex and ‘treated’ my girlfriend (now wife) to her first match!

So Leicester get promoted this season then get deducted enough points to get re relegated the next ,get financially rewarded for cheating and getting relegated to the championship but have the financial advantage to get promoted straight back again, it’s all a bit daft really.

Yes seems like too many clubs taking the p (if proven). Leicester nicking one of the top spots this season. Forest putting us out of the cup. Man City beating us in both FA cup and league cup in recent seasons. Starting to feel like we are penalised just for following the rules.

These minority vocal supporters wanted this type of head coach that draws silly arrows on the training pitch.

They wanted a 'football manager' head coach. The thought by having anAI head coach we'd achieve success simply by having better tactics blah blah blah.

Now they've got that there is a sudden realisation by them that real life football isn't a computer game.

It's hilarious to see those people that were so invested in Nige out and Manning in suddenly turn on Manning too.

This is their guy, they need to own that!

Trouble is I think there is a certain minority who will never be happy with any manager/head coach unless we are winning easily every week. So they won’t like the next guy either!

I was very vocal about the fact something needed to be done.

But I was also vocal about the fact that there were many options available to the club to try and sort this. I advocated a use it or lose it policy. I think at clubs like Brighton if you miss x amount of games in a row. You get a 5 match ban.

The club didn't try any of these options. They simply went for the nuclear option of trying to discourage u12s season tickets in the SS and then blocking the sale of new season tickets in the SS.

I think it's incredibly poor that during a cost of living crisis, people are now unable to buy the cheapest season tickets as a new STH.

Yes use it or lose it policy is usually combined with a ticket exchange site which enables you to make your seat available to a POTD fan (which is then classed as using it). See Spurs for example. I guess that costs the club a tidy sum to set up though, although would be ideal.

Yep, been happening for quite a while now.  Basically they move everyone outside the 3pm embargo (sometimes to a Sunday), so they then have free-reign to choose whichever game(s) they want to cover live without having to make a late change to the day / time of fixture.

I assumed it would be an early KO as usual. Don’t know why they don’t just publish the time when they put the fixtures out in June though.

  6. Trouble is some fans were advocating this (I saw it on here) so ironically it looks like the club has listened to these fans. There were moans about fans not turning up and no POTD in the SS plus comments that ticket prices rises in the SS were needed. The actions they have taken look supportive of this view. Of course, this then negatively impacts others.

According to the hierarchy at AG it was soon realised that there wasn’t actually anything for Alexander to do - Junior had taken on the role.

That sums up the issue though - no value put on leadership and communication. Hence the car crash communication re Pearson’s dismissal which in turn makes Manning’s job more difficult.

Which one of GO or JP brought up Alexander…because it’s a huge loss.

GO. But it was JP who called out there is a leadership vacuum and it was unrealistic to expect Manning, a 38 year old head coach, to perform that club leadership/communication role as well as his coaching duties.
P.S. PA wasn’t visible so I’m not saying he was the right person; just replace him though rather than bin off the role.

    Largely agree with you.

Though I'd wager Manning was on more Championship clubs potential shortlists for head coach than Tinnion was for DoF or Jon Lansdown as Chairman.

Agree with this and as Piercy said it was daft expecting Manning to do the club leadership role. We’re lacking a senior, focused, visible football club CEO focused on just City. Someone who is also a good communicator. We may have been OK if Gould had stayed. We don’t know why Alexander left, but even if we concluded that he wasn’t the right person for the job, we could have replaced him. Marshall is not just focused on City - he has a wider Bristol Sport role, plus he is not as visible as Gould was. Personally, at this point, I would spend some money on sorting the  leadership role rather than rush to sack Manning. Otherwise, the structure won’t work for his replacement either.

That's the thing I am looking at with the prospect of up to 4 games next season begin on a Sunday which I am unlikely to be able to go to added to the mid week games I have never been able to do and the cost per game of my ticked for matches I can attend goes up a lot closer to a members rate ticket,

If the club offered to buy back tickets for matches you can't go and gave you £10 a match for it then everyone is happy I get something back and the club get something they can resell for profit and get someone in the ground buying stuff that equal more profit it's a win win a lot of other clubs do it

I’m sure it will come (like Spurs Ticket Exchange) but possibly only when we start selling out more often. The sooner the better. Those other clubs also combine it with the ‘use it or lose it’ threat re season tickets, ie if fans use the ticket exchange (or forward it like we can already do), that counts as using it so no risk of losing your season ticket for the following season. All part of limiting empty seats.

I’m pretty much with you, my concern is if we ditch him now who’s going to replace him?,  and more importantly that person is going to be chosen by the same people that chose Manning. It’s a horrible situation we’re in and I really can’t see a way out of it.

Tinnion as caretaker (perhaps that’s why he’s on the season ticket advert!)

Am I alone in thinking I'm in the silent majority that are pretty fed up with the current situation, unhappy at how the Pearson situation was handled BUT completely willing to wait til next season to judge manning (where he WILL be judged from game 1 onwards)?

Theres a lot of noise about manning out etc but do most fans feel like me ?

Not looking to knock anyones opinion (2024 has been dreadful and masked from looking even worse by the FA cup), just sometimes the loudest voices portray a larger sentiment than the reality.

Sums up my view precisely. I thought it was clueless to get rid of Pearson but I wouldn’t get rid of Manning so soon. Personally I think you should give manager a minimum of 12 months to truly assess them.

5 Championship fixtures every weekend will be moved for live coverage. If around 30 of our games are weekend fixtures and every side is chosen as often, it could be more like 12 or 13 games. If you're a more fashionable club or going for promotion then it's likely you won't see too many 3pm Saturday games so we got this going for us ,
So approx 8 home 3pm kick offs will be moving, half of them going to 12:30 on Sat and the other half a mix of 5:15 on Sat and some to Sunday, add to the proposal to move 4 to a Friday and we will not  be watching a lot of 3pm Saturday football next season , I think that well mean less people able to watch live

Yes I expect 6-8. Of course we’ve had a few moved this season too.

The new TV deal will make things very different I think to be honest,

Up to 12 game that would have been played at 3pm on a Saturday if we had the same TV deal we do this year will be moved next season

4 will be moved to Friday, 4 will be moved to 1230 Saturday and up to 4 will be moved to 1730 on a Saturday

So we could possibly only play at 3pm on a Saturday 5 times next season that's a massive change for a lot of people

Do you mean home and away as we won’t have 12 home Saturday matches on TV (given our midweek and bank hol matches will be on TV so will go towards our share)?

There shouldn't be an excuse for the Robins "TV" audio stream not being available though!

I’m listening to it on the City website (but it’s not on the app for some reason)

There’s a new international TV deal next season too so question whether that may further limit what can be shown on Robins TV. Not clear.

“The new deals, which represent a 40 per cent rise in overseas TV rights, are in partnership with agencies Pitch International and Relevant Sports with the former distributing rights in Europe, MENA (Middle East and Northern Africa) and rest of world regions while the latter will become the distribution partner throughout North, Central and South America.”

Actually it says this on the EFL link so it will depend how many ‘exclusive’ TV matches there will be next season.

    Streaming to Continue

As part of the new agreements, EFL clubs will be able to continue international streaming services direct to fans overseas, where matches are not being broadcast exclusively, enabling those based abroad the chance to watch their team’s matches throughout the whole season.

    Ah, the if only.

Great advert for Championship football. Coventry should have won it in normal time and thoroughly deserved the win

They did win it in normal time - stopped it going to extra time. Outstanding.

  19. No chance of a refund (even ignoring the breach of the terms if in the UK):

    “What games can I watch?

Non-televised Saturday 3pm KOs + Friday/Sunday games – Outside UK and Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man only

    Non-televised midweek games – Worldwide

Televised games – Available in selected territories (notified by the EFL in advance of the fixture)

    Audio Commentary – Available worldwide

If there is not a pay-per-view match pass available in your territory for the game you want to watch, then it is not available.

Additionally, there is no season card holder access to streaming.”
