  1. He did! Co-owner did too! The joys of football.
  2. I’m hoping for Jay RWB (and Pring LWB) so that Weimann doesn’t have to play there.
  3. On your first point - which is really about defensive errors - Pearson was quite clear in the press conference last week that we don’t have the centre back attributes/qualities that are required and that he always expects. Basically the centre backs are not performing at the level that we need. This was in answer to a Q about recruitment and the need for a right back - he put centre backs as the priority. So we don’t need to waste money on sacking Pearson and finding a new manager - we need to find some money for defensive reinforcements. As others have said, we need to give Pearson time to turn it around.
  4. That’s 4 of them. On each other’s shoulders?
  5. Boston. That goal at Palace in the play off semi mind - one of City’s best, if not the best.
  6. Hope he does well and keeps them in the league.
  7. Scott has everything. And that includes excellent stamina, which you don’t often see in young players new to the pace of the championship.
  8. Also shows you how quickly they are learning/improving. They all played (plus Bakinson) v Sheff Utd at end of Nov and it was hard work. James and King are becoming gradually less vital to our success - which I suspect was Pearson’s plan all along; a few old heads to help the younger ones progress/integrate.
  9. There is simply nothing that Alex Scott can’t do. Great defensive work then.
  10. Wish someone would attack the near post when Bell crosses.
  11. Not sure if posted elsewhere, but for those interested the full Points West programme from 1982 is also worth watching as well: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DrH_YEoY8YM
  12. Ironically he contributed though by helping to abolish the maximum wage. And presenting Match of the Day of course!
  13. Even though I loved watching him, I never quite understood how we managed to sign Harford given our financial position - and in Division 3 by that stage. That World in Action documentary on the other thread seems to ask the same question. If wiki is to be believed we signed him for £160k in Aug 81 and sold him 7 months later in March 82 for £100k. Further evidence of the financial mismanagement, I guess.
  14. I think I watched that back in 1982, but seeing that again does remind you - again - just how incompetent the running of the club was and how badly the AG8 were treated - including from supposed fans (one player received threats re what they would do to his wife and kids).
  15. I saw this on twitter so it’s certainly been recognised by the Mann family.
  16. Really good tribute today; well done City and Scott Davidson. Brought a tear to my eye. Memories. Unfortunately my Dad was too unwell to attend today but on the bright side my daughter attended her second game today - first one was when she was 5; she’s now 22! - and my wife attended for the first time in 16 and a half years. Plus a gutsy win and it’s my birthday tomorrow - well today now! A good day all round.
  17. When Pearson talked of heart it seemed to me that he was talking more about about strength/guts to put in a tackle, stop a cross, block a shot, communicate well with a team mate rather than general motivation. It was about the incidents by individuals that led to goals. A good example would be Vyner on the third goal - a soft challenge; well actually no challenge at all.
  18. I thought he had a go at the ref and got booked for his troubles.
  19. To be fair, he did say at the start that he needed three clear outs (windows)
  20. Pearson said before the match that Idehen was brought into the squad to give more cover because if we got an injury early in the match, it would be too much of a risk to throw Cundy on so early. But yes I expect Cundy to come into the team soon as he improves his fitness, especially after Pearson’s post match comments.
