He knows how to push fans' buttons, does Pearson. Plays up to his image as a no-nonsense hard man.

He had a clearout last summer but apparently he needs another one.

A less famous manager would have been sacked a while ago.

To be fair, he did say at the start that he needed three clear outs (windows)

Have to try Cundy. If he’s no good, Idehen. Only if he struggles should we play Vyner. Has to go in the summer.

Pearson said before the match that Idehen was brought into the squad to give more cover because if we got an injury early in the match, it would be too much of a risk to throw Cundy on so early. But yes I expect Cundy to come into the team soon as he improves his fitness, especially after Pearson’s post match comments.

For what it’s worth, the second goal was poor, but it happens, and I don’t agree with throwing players under the bus, particularly if there are no replacements in the wing; there is a time for calm reflection. The third goal was really well taken. I think City played ok, sure Swansea shaded it but I thought Semenyo and Weiman played well, and but for a shocking piece of refereeing it would have been 2.2.

He didn’t name any players so I think it’s fine. He was just laying down the gauntlet for players between now and the end of the season. Shape up or you”ll be gone. And we all know that there are some players (often mentioned on this forum!) who switch off/are too weak in defence. They need to improve or they’ll be gone - and that is quite right if we want to improve. Shame Baker is injured though.

Horrible to see Korey  celebrating like he did i though he would have more class than that like Benik did a few weeks ago. Yes i know Swansea now play his wages but we are the club that turned him ito a Championship quality player

Korey did play 28 times for Norwich the season they got promoted to the Premier League so I don’t think we can take all the credit.

Ben Cabango stepped out of defence, lost possession and left a big gap.

Ryan Manning was then in two minds because he could have brought Weimann down but had he done so he'd have been sent off.

I thought he was just onside when I saw it initially but I'm not so sure after seeing the replay.

I think he just ballsed up his VAR job interview.

Seems a strange one. From what I can find, Grimsby transfer listed him and didn’t see him as part of their plans, released him and four months later he is on the bench in the Championship.

Either Grimsby made a colossal error or there must have been financial or other reasons they felt they could not use him. Hope he does well for us!

Grimsby did drop into the National League at the end of last season.
