  1. Headlines on the back page of the Post: ”Martin aiming to be more prolific” He’s leaving it a bit late in life
  2. The more I think about this the more I’m convinced the BT and JL were coached by the master of interviews, Prince Andrew
  3. Bop bop shoo be doo wah
  4. I’m afraid that SL seems to want to recover a large percentage of the money he’s invested. Unfortunately things aren’t like that. No matter how much I spend on my house, if I decide to sell, the amount I get will be the market value of the house and no more. The market valuation of loss making Bristol Sport can’t be want SL is asking. (Assuming the figures quoted are accurate and, less be honest, nobody really knows for sure)
  5. Considering SL is from a business background you would think he would understand how to appoint the correct people for each job. But, as has been mentioned on numerous occasions, Peter Hargreaves seems to have been the brains. All the top people at the club seem to be at the level of Unconscious Incompetence - i.e. they don’t know how to do something properly and don’t recognise their deficiencies
  6. They are in-house videos with carefully selected questions and rehearsed answers. Totally useless. If they wanted to give interviews it should have been to neutral outside media. (Not a hop in hell's chance of that)
  7. With Benny you say “I could see a plan”. That sums up a lot of situations with City’s managers. There is a plan, but the board gives the manager the sack before it’s fully implemented and starts again on some completely different plan.
  8. I’ve supported City since the late 50s and have seen quite a few managers come and go. In those 60 + years there has never been such a universal negative reaction to a managerial sacking. Numerous others have said the same thing, but what planet is SL living on?
  9. LJ burnt his way through millions in transfer fees and salaries, signed a farcical number of players in a scattergun fashion, failed to reach the playoffs and left the club massively in debt with a bloated squad of overpaid passengers. If we had a decent manager during that period of high spending SL might have got his wish of promotion to the Premier League
  10. Swiss Tony would be a good option. He wears smart suits and would always give a good post-match interview - eg “Today’s match was very much like making love to a beautiful woman. We got stuck in where it hurts and had plenty of box entries”
  11. We should be worried but I don’t think it will happen for one simple reason. In January SL will miraculously find some money for the new manager to strengthen the squad. Then, when things improve, he and Jon will say we made the correct decision. They will conveniently ignore the lack of support they previously gave Nigel.
  12. The new owner mentioned something about loans with repayments covered by increased revenue. As the club is currently losing money all increased revenue would do, should it materialise, is reduces the losses. The interest on loans is going to make the financial situation worse. He sounded like a nice chap on the Radio Bristol interview, but a bit innocent in football matters.
  13. I'm worried about this game. All poor runs must come to an end at some point and Sheff Wednesday are due a win. City has a poor record against teams on a poor run and seem to be very charitable. In the current circumstance even a draw may not be sufficient for Nigel
  14. As the saying goes, there are lies, damned lies and statistics. This is often taken to mean that statistics are another form of lying which is incorrect. Rather, statistics that aren’t sufficiently complex can be misleading. The problem with any form of data analysis is unless you know the facts that lie behind the data it’s meaningless. The context with NP’s tenure as manager is he inherited an enormous pile of poo. He had to get rid of a lot of players to reduce the wage bill and generate cash via transfer fees and only bring in players who are low cost options and / or use academy players who aren’t quite ready. Now there’s the extra burden of half the team being out injured If this is taken into account the results are remarkable
  15. When he signed for City he said that one of the reasons for signing for was that LJ said he would play him in the middle. LJ did play him there for a few games, and Weimann scored a few but, as all forwards do, he had a barren spell so LJ moved him to a wide position. Since then he’s been shunted around in just about every midfield and forward position plus wingback.

The Thunderbolt music venue ? On the Wells Road ? Nahki Wells ?
  17. The “board” - i.e. Steve Lansdown” - may act but what will a new manager get? A bare bones squad of players with half of them injured and no money to spend. Unless, of course, SL suddenly realises the dire state of the squad and finds some lose change down the back of the sofa
  18. Surely it was Roger Malone who was famous for his “noughts”
  19. They said they wanted to work with smaller squads but did they have any choice?

This was definitely not written by a human.
  21. I’m going to follow the lead set by Kellyanne Conway, a Donald Trump, official, in an interview in 2017. She said that we should consider “alternative facts”. If this is good enough for the Donald Trump administration, that bastion of honesty and integrity, then it’s good enough for me. So Head-to-head record Won: 100 Lost: 0 Drawn: 0
  22. There are numerous suggestions about who might be the next Rovers manager, but no suggestions as to where Joey might go. There can only be a few clubs that match his ability - Wormwood Srubs Wanderers, Dartmoor Dashers, Broadmoor Bashers etc
  23. If he asks, I’m sure Nigel will give him an honest answer

I agree with this, and it shows how light the squad is. At his age and experience he shouldn’t be getting as much game time but, due to injuries and NP having to work within a tight budget, there’s not much choice
  25. There may have been slight profits in terms of transfer fees in and transfer fees out, but what about the salary costs? They were both here for a year, so if they were only on £5k per week, thats another £500k to factor in. Another way to look at it is wasted opportunities. As @MyBrotherErnie said, they were brought in by LJ but he didn’t really know how to use them.
