  1. Bristol Roves use the same principal when calculating their attendances and fan base.
  2. No coincidence. By cutting his hair he's lowered his centre of gravity, which has improved his balance
  3. Tommy Trinder, a comedian from a bygone era, was chairman of Fulham in the 60s and early 70s. His catchphrase was "You lucky people" and I've had a vision of him saying this as we snatch a win with a 95th minute goal from a misshit Freeman shot that takes two deflections off defenders.
  4. I meant fit players actually at the club. As you say, unlikely to sign anyone new as Mathews will be back soon
  5. I like the look of that team with two attacking wide players to support Abraham. If we put Derby under pressure, what confidence they have after a poor start might disappear. However, I doubt that Smith is match fit after his injury, so start with Brownhill and bring him on as sub if necessary. I'd also prefer Tomlin to Reid. I also think Little is a weak link, but not sure there a fit right back to replace him.
  6. The Derby horse race was first run in 1780 and was going to be named after either the Earl of Derby or Charles Bunbury. Legend has it that it was decided by a toss of a coin. If the coin had fallen differently, The Derby would be The Bunbury. What has this to do with today's match? Nothing.
  7. It's not Freeman as a starter that worries me, it's his lack of finishing
  8. As the saying goes "Cash Is King". It's perfectly legal for companies to show a profit but have no, or little, cash which makes day-to-day working extremely difficult. This could be the case for Rover or, even worse for them, they're making a loss and have no cash. It will be interesting so see the year by year accounts for Dwane Dibbley sports, assuming there is any detail
  9. Definition of addiction: "the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to somethingthat is psychologically or physically habit-forming, asnarcotics, to such an extent that it's cessation causes severe trauma." Although you claim not to like this thread, you read it and post on it. Unbelievable Jeff!!!
  10. Some comments in previous posts starting with SirColinofMansfield on Wednesday.
  11. If so, it's even worse than an edited photo of the Mem. He's pretending someone else's ground is his own. That's like Steve Lansdown having his photo taken at Wembley and saying look at my wonderful investment. It's obvious that Wally didn't want anyone to see the real Mem, as it wouldn't fit his story.
  12. Has anyone noticed that in the photograph used in the article the Memorial Stadium has new blue seats? (To the left of Wally). The stand has also been rebuilt. The photo doesn't look anything like the real world, unless the development has taken place overnight
  13. This can't be moved into classics as there is much more to come. The last few months with nothing happening is just the lull before the storm. Trust me, I used to be a Boy Scout. Dib dib dib
  14. Part of the problem was lots people replied to his crazy posts. He then replied to them, which generated more posts from City fans, and so it went on.
  15. You're right to be happy. You've got a new tent, and a new portacabin. On the pitch you have a new forward on loan who has scored two goals in two seasons. What have we got at Ashton Gate, just a £45m 27,000 seater stadium. Plus an England under 19 international on loan and players from Juventus, Bayern Munich, Sunderland and Bournmouth. We just can't compete
  16. Having this "stadium" on television is an embarrassment for Bristol. Not even non-league teams have a tent at one end of the ground
  17. I like this two tent image. It reminded me of a Month Python sketch about Arthur Two Sheds Jackson. From now on, to me, the Rovers owner will always be Wael Two Tents Al Qadi.
  18. They make the mistake of meeting someone who knows nothing about / dislikes football. What's even worse is marrying a Rovers fan (apologies is there's someone on the forum who has) . There should be a dating lonely hearts thread on the forum so that single City fans can meet up.
  19. Havana - you mention the Wigan pier. Were you referring to Lord Stopfiord of Fallowfield? Born in Wigan in 1888
