  1. Noel Edmunds recently said that he's had been asked if he was interested in investing. He said "no deal"
  2. This is a good example of how a simple story gets exaggerated. Rovers are not getter a rich Sheikh, they're just getting some Shake and Vac for the boardroom carpet
  3. I may be rather cynical, but money drives most things in the legal world. Even if there are no grounds for appeal, the result won't be announced for a few weeks. If it's announced tomorrow, the judge won't be paid, relatively, very much. If it takes weeks of "hard" work, the amount charged can be much greater. In the same way, the written verdict will be long winded. A simple "No grounds for appeal. BRFC stop wasting everybody's time" would suffice, but a what we'll get is a long winded tome.
  4. Definitely a strange statement, but perhaps he was trying to find yet another reason for City losing a match we should have won. At least he was civil in the interview, unlike Cotts, who would have snarled at the interviewer, blamed the ref, the pitch, the tea lady, the conjunction of the planets in the sky etc
  5. Successful businesses always do risk management and have contingency plans. It was obvious that Cotts was losing the plot for months, so any sensible board should have had plans in place for a replacement, should he be sacked. "Sensible" obviously doesn't apply to the City board
  6. This is crazy. When I looked 40% had voted for David Moyes. Whilst we're at it why don't we have a vote for which forward we should sign, and all vote for Jamie Vardy?
  7. Don't be put off by any insults you might get. Keep posting, as anything from the bad lands is interesting. P.S. Are you also a member of the Monster Raving Looney party?
  8. I liked this until I had a close look at the players Burnley have. For some reason the team looks a lot stronger than when it's just a list of names.
  9. I feel insulted that you could beleive I own a Morris Marina! I was, of course, referring to the legendary Marina Dolman.
  10. Bit of a car theme in Havana's great post. This could a good omen for us as we have a Marina! Therefore a 4-1 win for City!
  11. If they remained at Nailsworth he might be right, but they are moving to a new ground by the M5. These sort of grounds are a nightmare for transport. Usually a long queue to get into and out of the car park. Just about bearable if you're a dedicated fan, but not for a casual visitor. I occasionally watch Forest Green at Nailsworth but I would not be keen to go to the new ground.
  12. First defeat in 4 games, but only 4 points from 4 games. Four points obtained from matches against Wolves and Hull is good, but zero from Bolton and Rotherham is poor. There has been a lack of consistency all season caused, IMO, by a squad that is too small and lacking in quality in key areas.
  13. Even with a killer pass we can't score. Kodjia sent Agard through with only the keeper to beat and he missed. This was when we were only one goal down. I'm not blaming Agard for us losing, but it illustrates how much we need a clinical striker. Of course if Reid was on the pitch there would be a few more chances created.
  14. When he was at school he always tried to join in with the older boys playing football. He was like a shadow that wouldn't go away, hence the nickname.
  15. Football's a funny old game. I think it's going to be a game of two halves. In the first Rotherham will set out their stall and aim to grind out a 1-0 win. Early doors they'll get a goal which will put City on the back foot. City are a better team, but the pitch will be a great leveller, so still 1-0 down at half time, with the City supporters sick as parrots. Second half, City will come out fighting, and give 110%. The boy Pack will surprise a few with 2 goals, both from 30 yards. City on top, but as it's a relegation dogfight, the last few minutes will be squeaky bum time. Not an entertaining match, but at the end of the day it's a relegation dog fight and a real six pointer. Final score City win 2-1 and supporters over the moon. (Sorry if I've missed any cliches)
  16. I don't think it would make much difference as even the lower value (for housing?) would still be a big sum for a local volunteer society with less than 200 members, and no history of raising big money. They might be able to convince a few extra people / organisations to commit, but would only have 6 weeks to put their bid together. A lot of organisations are good at talk, but when it comes to hard cash, the interests vanes.
  17. I doubt that it would make any difference. All it means is if the site is going to be sold, the Bishopston Society (or any other local group) would have 6 weeks to make a bid and 6 months to raise the money. It's unlikely that the Bishopston Society could raise the market value of the site, and even if they did, Rovers would just get the money from them instead of some other party.
  18. When you play away at a good club you expect to be beaten. When you play away at a lesser club you expect to win.
  19. Wot - no mention of Tommy Trinder? "You lucky people". Havana, your standards are slipping!
  20. Clubs aim to generate income from non match day activities. I don't know how they will use the shed for corporate events, but I'm sure Nick has a cunning plan
