If he was in a play-off chasing team, I'd be fairly confident he wouldn't be the reason for us not making the playoffs over a whole season.
That all Depends how far off the play offs we were!!

That save last night with his left leg from the fierce volley shot was immense. Guys a good goalie
But still a shot that you would expect a competent championship keeper to make. I’d have been disappointed if that had gone in.

Agree - more than entitled to have a shot there for me

I've got a lot of issues with the club, and for that reason have been an away fan only for almost 6 years now. However something the club has got right recently is the pathway from the academy to the first team. I'd rather watch local players like Max, who may not be world beaters, than a team of Mercenaries.
All players will want to do the best for themselves, that doesn’t make them mercenaries. What player bought through the academy has stayed once the lure of £££ and an opportunity to play at a higher level has been put in front of them?

Hull and Watford 100% definitely plus Coventry maybe Ipswich, West Brom and Middlesbrough just looking at clubs above us would all love Max as their number one.
He is not the problem.
Well there are 4 clubs there that could sign him if they wanted so let’s see the offers for him in the summer if your correct

A few? Say 4? Out of 33. And he’s made some superb saves as well. Probably more than 4.
We’re in the championship, the so called 4th best division in Europe, I’d expect a keeper to make a few good saves.

He should have collected the ball from the cross imo. Was too passive.
Or should have just saved it. It went about 4mph past him

Across a season he’s allowed to make mistakes. How close those mistakes happen isn’t relevant. If you think Max is having a bad season then wobble your head and think again
He’s let in a few goals this season that he could and should have done better with - what championship club would spend money on max as their number 1 keeper?

Just judge him over the season and then no need to give him a tough ride tonight. Just accept that every keeper makes the odd mistake.
He’s only just off the back of another clanger at Preston - how many is he allowed?

Nonsense. Fans give him a tough ride as they can’t bear to be wrong after judging him 3 years ago
He gets a tough ride tonight because of the 2 goals we conceded

Grow up ffs I’m certainly no happy clapper that’s for sure but I’m mature enough not to totally lose it over earning a point at a top 6 side bang in form.
By all means have the last word…..
But it should have been 3, so we should be pissed off as we have gifted them 2 goals. I’d be amazed if the manager isn’t fuming.

It's all very predictable on here. Every. Single. Time
If we get anything that was unexpected you can guarantee a few will say Coventry were poor and never showed up, and it couldn't have had anything to do with us.
They revel in their moaning game after game.
Plenty of positives out of tonights game imo, regardless of not getting the win, but the same people week in week out just cannot see anything objectively, quite baffled why some on here even watch us.It’s not moaning for moanings sake though is it? We have just dropped 2 points from a mistake that’s not good enough at this level.

I thought we looked knackered. Going to be a tough set of games coming up.
Max had a bad night but all the fans slagging him off have very short memories.
No we don’t - some of us have been saying for a long time we need better than him to progress. He makes too many mistakes to be a top end championship keeper. He makes a few good saves but I’d argue they are no better than what a standard champ keeper makes week in week out

On Max that is. Awful keeping

I feel like I say it every week, but has Mehmeti won a competition where he gets to be a pro footballer for a season?
And yet he’s still miles better than Sam Bell

When!
Second half he made a lung bursting run full length of the pitch counter attack, leaving all our attackers in his wake, the touch he then had in the box took him just fractionally too wide for a clear shot at goal with w defenders closing him down. Would have taken Messi to control and finish that - he's a Left back!
I will be happy to watch a replay as have only seen it once but from where i sat in the Lansdown it looked to me that he should have done better with the opportunity.

I’d give him an 8 or a 9 but he missed some really good chances which cost us in good positions. A 10/10 is the winning goal is it not?
He was very good tonight but i tend to agree with you, a bit of work on his final ball will make him a PL player. He also should have scored tonight

They definitely got what they deserved that day. Bullies trying to pick off City fans walking past in their 1’s or 2’s, weren’t so big when up against a bit of force.
Spot on and that’s exactly what happened. When i came out Forest were there waiting with wood to attack us with. They didn’t last there long though once everyone got out

Eight years since he left AG.
Doesn't look that much different to me, and not bad at all for someone who'll be 60 this year.
Not keen on FGR these days but sure Cotts will do well, they're very fortunate to have him.
I can’t stand them - hope they go down

or even the Green Uns
involving Bristol City football events?
The ones I would like to get hold of, or even copies or the approx dates are
In the DAF final against Bolton a Bristol City fan in Australia paid someone in Bristol to have their two land line phones connected so an audio of the match could be heard down under
Glyn Riley when his wife accidentally taped over a tape which had all the goals he had scored on,
Jed pitman of HTV fame saw his(GR) plight and put together another tape of GR goals
My mate has just come across a load of old programmes and newspaper clippings of City in a house he’s bought. I think he still has them as otherwise he will give them to someone who will clear the house.

The Watford player should have take it first time and scored. He gave us an opportunity by taking a poor touch

I agree with this. The problem as I see it and has been mentioned is that to play this system well you need very good players. Look at the difference for example between Russell Martin at Swansea and at Southampton. Same style and processes. Different outcomes. I would argue that the difference is the quality of players in the two sides.
To be successful at this level with the style the board want will require us to have more players of the level of Scott Twine. By their nature they will cost, both in fee and wages. Can you really see this regime going out and spending that on 4 or 5 players of that level?
We need a Scott Twine 'type' player. Ww currently have the ultimate Scott Twine 'type' player in the man himself. However we are unwilling/unable to afford him. I don't know how we square that circle other than adopting a more pragmatic style. However that is not why LM was employed. The club knew what his style was and have backed it. Let's see if they are really serious or not
They will be desperate for Manning to succeed. I think they will find a way to finance this deal If Manning believes hes the player that will make the difference. The only thing that will get in the way is Burnley’s relegation
