He’s probably seen what the majority of us have seen - he’s absolutely miles off being ready for the championship. And that’s no criticism of him either, he’s a young lad, he will be fine in time.

Engvall, Watkins, Adelakun, Palmer, Gimartin, Nagy.
Off the top of my head that’s over £10m spent (God knows what on wages) on nothing.
Ashton was good at selling high but the excessive, scatter gun spending of his era left us in real danger of failing FFP & with no assets to sell to solve this until Pearson came in.
Maybe Ipswich know his limits & have a structure that works but it isn’t that his face didn’t fit, he was a slippery individual who went missing when things went bad & was hated at Watford.
Much of this is on Steve Lansdown too who still appears to think an era when we spent about £180 for every £100 we earned (& never challenged even for the playoffs) was a success.
Gould is a big miss, we are well shot of Ashton whatever happens at Ipswich.
I also think he gets more praise than he deserves for ‘selling high’
In still not overly convinced we got more for our players than what we should have

Higher than Liam Manning? Or do you need more…
So what are they basing it on that Manning is out of his depth after 5 games in charge?

Only an absolute nerd would be that happy with what they’ve seen so far.
I’ve just been out with some proper football men, guys that have played at a high level. The consensus is Manning is well out his depth - Time will tell if they’re absolute dinosaurs, or spot on.
What level?

That poor bloke has signed a very lucrative contract knowing the situation.
He knew what he was signing up for. He accepted the challenge.
And he’s 5 games in with a squad that was universally accepted by fans as not being good enough under NP. It’s not Mannings fault NP was sacked.

The problem is the board have put the pressure on. They sacked a popular manager who was moving us in the right direction and then to justify it they said " its due to results and wanting us to be in the play offs THIS season because we have a top 10 budget and the players to do achieve it. Therefore appointing manning was to get us there. Had JL and BT not said this then I think as a fan base we would be more patient I think the problem is alot of us feel like we have been lied to and treated like fools.
There should be no annoyance towards Manning, he’s the poor bloke that’s been put in an impossible position due to them being a bunch of cowards when dealing with NP. Unfortunately some fans are so pissed off that the only way to get at BT, JL etc is through Manning. It’s a shame

What I saw today and their league position shows me that they are crap.
You can try arguing with me all night and you won't convince me or many others that the only reason they looked crap was because we made them look crap because that wasn't the case.
I’m with you, Huddersfield were terrible

We played OK.. but let’s be honest, Huddersfield are crap and will go down. Really disappointed with only one point against such a poor side.
This is where i am - lots of good possession without creating much after the first 20. It was frustrating. Huddersfield really were a poor Side

Watching Everton v Newcastle, free kick every 15 secs, boring.

Sport in general is more boring than it used to be, i went to the Bristol v Glos game on the weekend, i could not believe how boring the atmosphere was for a derby.

Why do rugby coaches get so much longer than football coaches even when it’s clear they are failing?

For what it's worth tonight I thought it should have been a penalty against Maguire and not against Lewis so I suppose it evened itself out. But yes all in all VAR has not covered itself in glory, the time it takes being my main gripe.
Of the 3 penalty decisions I saw last night, all 3 were completely wrong. What’s the point in VAR?

Yeah. The ball hits Kane. It’s the off.
Ah right, didn’t realise it had hit him, fair enough then

Mannings main job is to keep himself in a job for the next 2 years. If I’m a manager of a championship club and I’m given funds then im going after the experienced Pro to sign and the only way an academy player plays is if they are 100% good enough. It ultimately did NP no favours by using our academy players.
