  1. Did more than steady a sinking ship from the crazy previous regime.

Took a bloated squad, got rid of the namby-pamby players, brought in leaders, brought discipline and an ethic this club badly needed.

Created a pathway and blooded numerous academy players.

Recruited under difficult circumstances from lower leagues and made a handsome profit, with a lack of investment and a much restricted budget improved us.

The Lansdown's should be utterly ashamed how they have treated you.

You not only have the fans respect, but also our gratitude. Thank you.

  2. The irony of murmurs within the hierarchy of the club regarding Kings inclusion and the restrictive self imposed playing budget set by the same hierarchy, resulting in us operating such a thin squad, I am sure is not lost on Nige.

The hierarchy are fast losing the fan base. Give him a new deal and a proper budget to compete.

  3. Can't believe there is no post about Sam. Swansea could not live with him on the left.

Made countless chances and scored a great finish. Many of our fanbase seem to doubt him. I think we have a real talent on our hands.

Woken up to this news this morning and it's bought a smile to my face.

A long standing gas ST colleague told me all about the 800k +add ons deal for JCH over a week ago, so I can only presume the whole delay was over JCH's terms.

Whatever is the reason, it's another example (alongside the whole summer stand fiasco) of the complete amateur set up they have running there.

Why you couldn't arrange negotiations/medical to take place in Portsmouth is beyond me.

But no, they rely on him having to getva taxi from Portsmouth to their training ground. Just pay the money for it to be done privately elsewhere, tinpot doesn't do justice to it all.

Oh, and as for Wael to be face timing Dmac all the time, that once again smacks of a guy who just doesn't have a clue how these things work.

Apparently wages were agreed, they just messed getting the paperwork completed in time. Shambles but also hilarious ?

Wael: Great lads, all agreed and welcome home JCH.

JCH: absolutely honoured boss, a double Tilson.

Wael: Looking at my 20k watch, we just need to fax over the paperwork.

EVERYONE IN THE ROOM LOOKS AT EACHOTHER

    Gorringe: p p p p paperwork el president?

    Gorringe: oh shit!

Barton punches the wall and leaves the portacabin.

For all the SL bashing and theorising on what he's planning to do with the club despite his wealth of must be totally gutting for him to have spent the amounts he has on infrastructure and covering the debts every season that all he has achieved is to have got us out of league 1.

A billionaire running a reasonably sized club in a big city has only managed to get us from League 1 to the Champ and even there we've only been in the playoffs once and that was a season when nobody was expecting us to even get in the playoffs.

He became involved with the club when we were in the championship. Great owner for the infrastructure, the rest has frankly been a failure mainly due to his own decisions.

Happy to thank him for his time at thr club but it is clearly time for someone with fresh impetus and ambition to come in, if they are available.

  6. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results

Sick of this shit, the same old with Lansdown, the bloke is totally cluless in relation to his on the pitch decisions

We have people at the club, the owner, chairman and CEO (can't even recall his name he's that anonymous) who seem uncapible of basic communication.

If Pearson walks I think they may have a mutiny on their hands and rightly so.

Without having seen a lot of the player, that price seems quite fair and reasonable for someone of his age and Championship experience.

Yes, plus has played for England u20s last year.

If he can fill multiple positions then it makes sense to use him at RB and then can deploy him or McCrorie elsewhere within the team. Looks a good signing on paper.

I am saying that yes they are payed employees they aren’t in control we are they play for us and are in breach of contract if they display any disobedience! They after all signed the contract and weren’t forced! You can’t just choose to go as now you are good !

But good job defending the players

    How is cloud cuckoo land?

I'm not convinced he's that interested. He's simply speaking words but saying nothing. So I agree, not worth over-analysing. Frankly I don't think there has ever been anything that might be graced with the term 'strategy'. All over the place in his managerial appointments.

But for supporters in the here and now it seems reasonable to ask when exactly 'when the time is right' might be? He's had a couple of decades. Listen to him - are we steadily building, in which case are we selling our best players to invest in more? Or have we already got 'the makings of a promotion winning side'? We're, as ever, left guessing.

He was only showing his face to launch a golf project on Guernsey.

Agree, I think that has been the strategy in his head. Unfortunately he has made a series of poor choices to implement it. We seem finally on track with the academy, recruitment and personnel, whether it works is for another debate.

  10. I wouldn't be concerned in micro analysing every word of a SL interview, who is prone to going a little off script.

We will invest and develop in young talent, sell where there is a large offer and continue to build, once strong enough we thrn make a push when we think it's the right time. Hasn't this always been the strategy?

I already can't imagine a team without him, he looks like he will be up there with our list of top left backs over the years, Brennan, Bell, Barnard, Scott, Roberts could be as good as any of them.

Even if Pring plays, we have to find a way of getting him on the pitch.

That is some debut, if he is as good as those players over time then we are very fortunate.
