I'm not going to comment on any transfer fee because hardly anyone is going to know the truth and contracts these days make it near on impossible to place an actual figure on it. I've seen Kalas quoted at £8million for us and he certainly wasn't worth anything like that,
However, it feels to me like this is a player that would do us a hell of a lot of good. Take some pressure off of Knight who is doing a lot of heavy lifting with his forward press and also introduce some much needed creativity, I believe he has created almost twice as many chances for Hull this season that anyone has done for us?
Add to that that he had some of his best form playing for Manning then it would seem like a sensible investment if the finance people think it's worth it.

Not Ashton Gate I know, but does anyone from here ever go to the Arctangent festival? Is it worth it?

And they started selling tickets two hours before the advertised opening time as they could see there were more in the queue than tickets available.
Yep, they were supposed to go on sale at 10am iirc, got down there at 6am with my mate and the queue was from the Williams ticket office, onto Ashton Road and way back past the Dolman entrance.
They were selling 4 tickets per person so people were buying them, going to the back of the queue and offering them for double face value, that's how we managed to get tickets in the end.

I remembered to get my WH ticket earlier. Had to print it off - would have preferred to have had sent to my phone tho.
Don't bother printing, just scan your phone

Me too. I have my daughter's graduation from Warwick Uni on the 16th! Starts at 12 noon though, so maybe...
That date isn't set in stone.
I would think it's likely this match is chosen for TV somewhere, so might be played Monday or Wednesday yet!
There will be uproar on here if the date is moved.

My bad , I do believe though the old bill can have there two penneth worth if they feel there’s gonna be a problem ,
so if we did draw them at there dump we would probably get no more than 1100k
1.1 million would seem a fair allocation

All I would say is be very careful checking the car over on pickup and take pictures of anything wrong. Miss the smallest scratch or dent and you just know you will be charged for it on return

100% untrue @richwwtk
Not true @ralphindevon
Completely inaccurate
It was 3,000 of 14,000 that requested a physical ticket for the men
It was 306 of 1,700 for the women
Thank you for that, stops wildly innacurate rumours getting out of hand.
Over 20% still feels like an awful lot though.

I agree that the FA Cup is not as important as it it used to be. In my mind it is entirely the fault of the Chamions League. When only the League winners qualified for the European Cup it meant that winning the FA cup was an important route into European Football so that the prestige and glamour of the competition was preserved.
As soon as 4th place in the league became more important the top teams stopped taking the Cup seriously which severly undermined the competition in the eyes of the public.
Unfortunately I see no way back for the prestige of the competition now as too much damage has been done.
I should also point out that, in the season of the League Cup run, results didn't really turn against us until we had been knocked out so if anything the opposite to what you describe is true.

40%?? Crikey is that true? WTF!?
I saw 6K mentioned earlier, and we have about 15K ST holders normally, so 40% was just my rough guess

Obviously the best option by a mile would have been to have digital tickets but as we haven’t gone down that route for whatever reason
If it's true that 40% of our ST holders opted for a physical card rather than digital then the reason is fairly clear and certainly not the fault of Bristol City or West Ham.

Fair play to Littler winning that 2nd set, looked like he might fall apart for a short while

He played in a practice game today, so very much doubt it. Could be West Ham next Sunday, or more likely Preston away before we see him in the squad.
Preston away was his answer when asked the other week while he was doing a signing session in the SS pre-match

Yeah think the X1 has got it.
The Bristol bus used to pick up in the centre by the pub, Bristol Hotel, I think it was called. Does the X2 pick up there as well ?
I think so but not 100% sure, but if you're there then you are a one minute walk from where the buses all start and stop these days (what used to be Alexandra Parade) outside Tescos
The X1 also picks up at all the stops from there down Locking Road to the motorway junction

Spent many hours as a kid playing the original Football Manager on the Spectrum, loved it!
The Original writer of the game re-released it as an 'exact copy' for Android phones a couple of years ago. Got very excited about playing it again and it was rubbish

X1 from Weston to Bristol stops at AG. Takes just under an hour, runs every 15 minutes

Of course, never confuse us with somebody else!
Now you've said that, if you don't call him both a liar and the devil incarnate in your opener you'll be accused of blowing smoke by some

Thanks @Frenchay Red
I was there for that match. Biggest crowd at Ashton Gate in my lifetime of 42,594.
I went to BGS and we had lessons on Saturday mornings. Our Form Master gave three of us an early end to school because we had tickets.
And one more for Red Alligator. Wally Hinshelwood played 149 games for City so a significant part of our history.
I'm not convinced @Red_Alligator was being sarcastic as you seem to think, it sounded to me like he was thanking you for an interesting bit of football trivia.

Pretty sure Alistair Campbell has told this story before, think it was a part of trying to get the Good Friday Agreement through. In Campbell’s version he tells him very quickly that it is a ridiculous idea, but who knows if that is true?
Brown & John Major are clearly the only PMs since Harold Wilson who were also real football fans, Brown wrote a brilliant article on Raith Rovers (he’s a shareholder, was a programme seller as a kid) recently & although much more of a cricket fan, Major is a Chelsea supporter of longstanding who doesn’t feel the need to keep mentioning it.
From the way he speaks, pretty sure Alistair Campbell is a real football fan as well, so would have known what a daft idea it was.
