Can anyone remember seeing Bellingham destroy us on the left wing in 2020 just before Covid lockdowns? I think Birmingham won 3-1 but I remember leaving the game thinking wow this lad is only 17. Literally has the world at his feet.

Must admit I quite liked Dunk and Guehi at the back together. We are very lucky to have Bellingham, Foden, Saka and Rice all under the age of 25. Bellingham will be the best player in the World one day.
  3. No surprise he's playing well, he's a very good footballer.
  4. He will probably be quite good for Fleetwood. I don't like the bloke at all, but he was good at Oldham. Kind of Manager who suits a smaller club in my opinion.
  5. With the amount of money spent on Rugby Union in England it is actually pretty pathetic how bad we have been. 2019 was a bit of a freak World Cup for us and this side hit a peak vs NZ in the semi finals. We barely ever win a 6 Nations, and when we do it doesn't ever seem to be the Grand Slam. Maybe Rugby Union needs some kind of reform in England. Is the overall interest down? Is there coaching/financial issues? Are there less youngsters playing nowadays? I'm not a massive Rugby follower but to me Rugby along with Football and Cricket is a part of English culture so it's sad to see how we consistently are falling behind the rest.
  6. Generally I think any team that you can name 1 - 11 straight away usually is a good side. I think we have a few seasons worth of sides that can be named aside from the obvious 1970s teams. 1989/90, 1997/98, 2002/03, 2007/08, 2014/15, 2017/18 for the majority on OTIB will always be remembered quite easily as starting elevens go.
  7. It p***** me off that all the backing and support Lansdown gave the Johnsons and the two men (Cotterill and Pearson) who dug us out of their financial mess they left us he refused/refuses to actually support. He showed us his colours before in a GT interview this is 'my club' and I think there is a power struggle going on right now between the board, Lansdown and NP. He will only support the Managers who don't have the back bone to stand up to him and Jon, because it's 'my club and I'll do what I want' kind of attitude.
  8. Just listened and I have to say I miss Richard Gould ? Bloke could barely even remember some of the players names.
  9. Thought some negative comments about him near me were harsh yesterday. I thought he had a decent game without being spectacular. Clearly better than Tanner going forward and loves pinging a cross field pass. Good signing I think

    Mark Sykes

He reminded me of Scott Murray yesterday. Best i'd ever seen him play, he was fantastic and has been a really good free signing.
  11. As other posters have also stated - the ref was awful today too. I am convinced their defender should have been shown a red for the challenge on Wells.
  12. 2 away days done this season and 2 wins. Today we were in control for the majority of the game. That spell between 45th minute and 70th minute was some of the most enjoyable football i've seen for quite some time for City. Sykes was Scott Murray-esque today and it was the best i've seen Bell in a City shirt and has silenced my own criticisms of his performances so far this season. I also thought Matty James had a fantastic game in Midfield today. Everything came through him and we bossed the Midfield. A well deserved and enjoyable 3 points.

Well he also used to make his players at United feign injury to avoid international call ups (Ryan Giggs for Wales). I think some of the reason he fell out with Beckham is because he actually loved playing for England and wouldn't do as Fergie told him to do. I think Ferguson would plant seeds in his players minds when they went on international duty. Scholes - Retired from England at 29. Ferdinand, Neville, Rooney - All stated they wouldn't socialise with Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal players. Just look at the Keane incident in Saipan, 2002 and his lack of respect for Mick McCarthy. Then Giggs constantly pulling out of Wales squads, Cantona pretty much being banned from France after 1994.

Yeah I can understand this point. I've listened to Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand on a few occasions out right say they hated the other players. Pretty sad and pathetic but doesn't surprise me with the United players from that era playing under Fergie. It put England to shame when Spain won 3 major tournaments in a row with great players from both Barcelona and Real Madrid. Pique and Ramos did not see eye to eye but put their differences aside for Spain.
  15. Really feel for the bloke listening to that. Clearly frustrated. He has generated so much money for this club after being in a shambles financially in 2021 and is getting nothing in return. I wouldn't blame him if he walked.
  16. 2 minutes in 'City dominating the proceedings' . It's 2 minutes in for christ sake!
  17. You are giving me PTSD of listening to him and Rene Gilmartin throughout that painful lockdown season of 2020/21 when we were absolutely awful yet they would repeat absolute nonsense every game like we were hard done by in every match. Terrible.
  18. I am astonished that we have received £35 million in Scott and Semenyo this year and we won't adequately replace them. That is not how you progress a team in this League!
  19. It still doesn't sit right with me that we sacked Cotterill after that great season and replaced him with LJ, who had achieved nothing in his career. Then he was given all the money to spend from SL. He should have been rid of much sooner than he was as well.
  20. Agree with you on Bell. Maybe needs a loan out to a L1 side. Just needs his decision making to catch up with his actual speed and he'd be an asset. He is also a little on the powderpuff side as well at times. On Williams - he's a player we need. James and Naismith have a history of being crocked for a month or two at a time and is a squad player for me.
  21. Absolutely deserved the point. I think this game highlights that if you give our side space then we can play a bit. Preston and Birmingham gave us no space at all in the two home games to play our stuff. Knight, Naismith, Vyner, Pring and Sykes all had great games last night. Great to see Pring back to his form from last season, couple of great crunching tackles in the 2nd half especially, I do wonder if maybe the contract situation may have been on his mind for the first few games? I love the way we play from the back when Naismith is in there, despite the fact he is prone to the odd mistake and error, we just play with much more fluidity when he is in the team. Only negative is I don't think Sam Bell should be starting matches at the moment he's too slow in his decision making. Overall a positive night and should have really won the game on chances created.
  22. A James Linington classic as usual. Giving a close call against us. ****
  23. Playing well tbh and I would like to see that offside call again
