  1. Bayern are absolute giants. How anyone can say it's a backwards step is beyond me. The only thing that club knows is winning, unlike Spurs.
  2. Corporate employment. I feel the same, totally out of touch with our fanbase.
  3. Did the same on Saturday, player was halfway running onto the pitch and no announcement. Just absolutely useless and not suited to a Football crowd.
  4. Left backs seem to be Bristol City's best position over the years: Scott, Barnard, Bell, Brennan, Bryan, Cunningham, Dasilva, Pring, now Roberts
  5. Firstly I would never have started Weimann, Cornick and Wells. I'd have played Williams, Sykes and Conway from the start. Weimann in midfield set a precedent of being overrun by Preston's Midfield. He isn't a Midfielder. Massively missed Scott in there. We were slow and sloppy, made way too many unforced errors and a few players bottled out of quite a few tackles. We didn't deserve the win so no complaints, but we can't play like that at Millwall next week or we will be in for a good beating. On the positive I thought Vyner, Dickie and Williams played well.
  6. Look where we are.. Look where they've been the last 20+ years. They aren't worth worrying about, just pity.
  7. I'm not sure why any City fan should care that much to be honest, they're irrelevant. Part of me actually wants them to get promoted, get a better ground so we can have a proper derby for a change. It's down to them to get their arse in gear and play us on the pitch, but they're usually all mouth so I'm not sure why any of us lot should be bothered.
  8. Had a glimpse of their forum. They actually think we're bothered ? I don't think they know HOW much investment is needed to even be a sustainable Championship club let alone get promoted amongst the many big clubs in League 1. From a neutral pov (I dont generally give a s*** about Rovers) they're gonna need a lot of patience and an heck of a lot of change for them to progress.
  9. Total accident. Don't think Marcelo is that type of character, and he was walked off the pitch visibly in tears over what happened.
  10. I will always say this, but whether Pearson is ultimately successful here on the pitch or not, the work he has done off the pitch and put in place for us will hold us in good stead for years to come. I believe whoever takes over after Pearson goes (whenever that is) may benefit the most from his time in charge here. Pearson has been the manager we've needed ever since Gary Johnson and Steve Cotterill left the club. He gets the area, the culture of the city and fanbase. I've always thought City need a 'Strong' character to lead the club, as ultimately that is generally when we've been the most successful.
  11. That's fair enough.. Would be interesting to hear Steve Brooker's side though on his relationship with Lita (Rated him as a player too)
  12. The only thing I would say and I'm not defending Brooker, but we haven't got his side of the story.. If it's true Lita was a bit of a 'boy' and was trouble, there could have been much more to the story... Especially after 10 pints
  13. Loved Lita as a player at City, explosive pace, power and shot.
  14. They are more than welcome to his absolute s****.
  15. This guy's youtube channel is brilliant. Always pretty fair and neutral, although he is an Ipswich fan. Miles better than the Second tier Pod
  16. In todays world: Opinions you don't agree with: Bad Sexual acts with someone who is 17: Perfectly fine
  17. City were an absolute shambles by the time SOD took over. We had way overachieved in 2007/08 with the squad we had. It started in January 2008 with the signing of Adebola which effected our style of play to a more direct approach. We then became pragmatic with signings instead of thinking long term - only Maynard was a signing made that was really a thought of the future. We didn't improve on what we had and instead were signing journeymen every season. When both McInnes and SOD took over we had a hugely bloated squad of players signed by 3 different Managers and with no long term strategy to improve the club SOD was always up against it. Although results in League 1 were poor he did sign most of the squad which got us Promoted. He laid the foundations down for the scouting and academy. Unfortunately many of our 'fans' want a happy go lucky type of Manager to please their minds. There's so much that goes on behind the scenes than just the results. Football has evolved from the 1980s. City fell behind rivals because of this mindset and now we are reaping the rewards for taking a more long term approach, which SOD had said needed to happen.
  18. The guy has a sad obsession with Nigel Pearson, probably being paid by Mark Carter and Ian Gay to put pressure on the club. Pearson IS doing a good job, never felt more comfortable with how things are being run behind the scenes and that's a compliment to Pearson, Tinnion, Gould, Alexander and Rennie. Sod what these nobodies with zero insight into the Club actually think.
  19. He's a solid Midfielder at this level and when he takes a knock for a few games we generally tend to go off the rails a bit (3-0 at Birmingham for example).
  20. We'd have gone up in 2002/03 if we'd had signed up for the final push in April and May.
  21. Taylor got 27 goals in the 3rd tier and had about 6/7 games out injured. The most Thorpe got was 19 in a 3rd tier season. Taylor was way too good for that level during his time at the club, his subsequent career proves this. I liked Thorpe by the way, just don't think he should be mentioned anywhere near the terms of best strikers this Club has had. He was a good fox in the box Striker but just never did it at a higher level than League 1 unfortunately.
