p May I remind you Noggers that you are not allowed an opinion on Baldock or any other player unless it is 100% positive. I think you sum it up well when saying he could have easily doubled his tally even without scoring a lot of the easy ones. That's not making him a scapegoat, it's stating the bleeding obvious. It's almost as if SB can't possibly be challenged because he is captain or works hard. I think it says it all when he himself has acknowledged he has to do better. So next time he misses a sitter are we as fans not allowed an opinion? Shall we all just brush it all under the carpet and pretend the catalogue of misses actually never happened? I can handle him missing chances but it's the complete and utter lack of composure and lack of ideas that is startling. It's almost as if it's a hit and hope every time. No thought process or clever execution behind a lot of the poor misses. I think every fan is entitled to feel underwhelmed that a striker we signed on bloody good money and was expected to be championship quality isn't proving worth the outlay. Even more frustrating when a proven striker in Pitman was literally forced out the door for pittance.

Be careful not to questions Baldock's finishing....if you do you might be considered not fit to support the club! His lack of composure is what worries me. Rabbit it in the headlights. However what equally worries me is that we are still conceding too many goals. Poor goals at that as well. We shouldn't be so reliant on scoring 3 goals every game to win. I've been critical of Baldock but for as poor as his finishing has been I feel he is under even more pressure due to us not keeping them out at the other end!!

He is the type of player that we need. We don't have any leaders at all in the side. The youngsters need a bit of experience next to them and he seems like the ideal candidate to be honest. We are slowly improving at the back and he will add to this I'm sure. We have been far too soft for way too long now. Good signing.

Unfortunately just not good enough I'm afraid. Good first 20 minutes but not enough after. That's what happens when you don't take piss easy chances. Some very disappointing performances from certain players tonight. Frustrating but the league is far more important.

Very pleased that it's done now. I honestly believe this is a very good signing. Had he not fallen out of favour at Posh I doubt we would have been able to attract a better striker in the target man mould. As for the Posh fan's what on earth do they know? They are fine ones to talk about attitudes. Lee Tomlin has one of the worst attitudes outside of the prem. He is a petulant little **** that thinks he is better than what he is.

I would love it if he did use all 3. We would be very dangerous and exciting going forward. Depends if he continues with 3-5-2 and feels he can accommodate all 3 I guess.

Exactly. Not every player can be a young one. Barnett has experience and is proven at this level. The main thing is he is the type of striker we need. It's also rare to be able to find a target man type striker that still weighs in with his fair share of goals as well. I must admit I don't see JET, TB & SB all playing in the same starting 11 on a regular basis. Certainly not away from home anyway. If the do we will be a real attacking threat. It's still nice to have a different option though.

Fortunately for Wes he can also play on the wing, even as an attacking wing back as he did to great effect on Saturday. SC has said he rates him so I wouldn't imagine he will just leave him out of the squad all together. I must admit new signings do worry me that the youngsters will get pushed aside a bit but Wes is giving SC the type of problem he wants. Barnett is a big physical striker and is the different option to what we need. Taylor isn't up to it and will probably be left out. Wes will also put Wagstaff under real pressure for the right wing role in the near future as well. I would say he is doing himself no harm at present. Anyway there is no guarantee that Barnett would walk straight into the starting 11. Likely yes, but he has been left out of the posh side before. I'm guessing that he must have seriously fallen out of favour with Daddy's boy Ferguson for him to loan him out to a divisional rival.

Like him or not he's the type of striker we need. Strong physical presence that can hold the ball up and knows where the net is. We have the pace in Burns. Baldock plays on the shoulder so we need someone to hold it up and offer a different option. Taylor is bang average and isn't up to it unfortunately. If SC has been unimpressed by JET's work rate then he's in for a real shock with Barnett though. JET is by far more hard working than Barnett.

Get in there. Needed that big time. Lots more positives than negatives today. Very solid at the back and gave nothing away. Very pleasing. Burns looked absolutely quality when he came on. Glad to see he is getting a chance now. Certainly put captain fantastic to shame. Get the **** in there!!

Seriously what is Cotterill thinking? Reid off injured to be replaced by Shorey in centre mid. I despair. Still looking half decent though. Kept Walsall at bay and have created. Shame we haven't got a striker that can do anything other than take penalties. Missed two absolute sitters and didn't even make the keeper work. Seriously hope it doesn't come back to bite us. After a half decent performance Saturday it's hard to change too much. Would have liked to see Louis start but two games in quick succession at his age when he's barely featured all season is a big ask. Especially when a fresh Osbourne is back. Bit disappointed not to see Burns from the start and just hope this isn't a negative formation. We have to win today.
