If he is found guilty they should sentence him to do community work in some shithole of a Football ground with a bunch of amateurs. Oh wait.......

Paul Cheesley was recently asked in an interview if he thought the 1976 promotion side would beat the current squad? He replied, "I'd expect it would be a really tight game but we'd probably win by a goal" The interviewer asked him why he thought it would be that close? Cheese responded "Well my knee is still knackered, several of us have sadly passed away and the rest are in their 70's now" ???

This really worries me because I feel that the January window is critical for the sustainability and stability of our Championship status. At the very, very least we need a decent forward but we need improvement in a number of other areas.

Sheffield United away match day thread
Midlands Robin replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
From my Sheff Utd supporting mate: "I will say I expected better, your marking was poor & you gave us the time space that we needed. Also, what was with the "dark arts" wasn't it 4 players booked for knocking the ball away?" -

Missed that one. What did they do? -
Ever since this report was published I've been listening to one Premier League chairman after another come on the Radio to explain why this report is a bad idea which to my mind means that the vast majority of the report is a very good idea and should be implemented as soon as possible.

I don't remember Nobby playing for us? Anyway, the trouble with having players like this is twofold. They're not doing it in the squad and they're bloody hard to move on as they're not going to interest many clubs on the back of poor performances. We stand to lose another fist load of cash.

Slavisa Jokanovic set to leave Sheffield United
Midlands Robin replied to Selred's topic in Football Chat
Talking to a Sheff Utd fan I know, apparently they are skint. Slaviša Jokanović fell out with the Chairman because they promised him decent funds when he arrived and it would seem that he's not got what he asked for. They wanted to sign Callum Wilson a while back but couldn't afford his wages and I don't expect Bournemouth were paying too much. The question being asked up there is "Where has the money gone?" -
Stoke City at home match-day thread

Right, we've got the foundations now. An 11 (plus a few subs) that play with heart and determination. They don't take any shit and give as good as they get. We've got a long way to go in terms of skill but we can clearly see we have a team out there and that we've got something to work with. The two young lads, Scott and Benarous, are like two new signings at this stage of the season. COD has upped his game and it's great to see us play with real width at last. This set up should get us through to Jan with some decent points now and with the right signings we can push on. -

Got to take a lot of positives from am unchanged line up. The young lads breaking into the side will see that as a real vote of confidence from the management. Let's hope we can look forward to a full 90 minutes performance similar to the first 45 against Blackburn. COYR -
Apparently not. That one is set for December I think.

Next up for Joey is a tricky away trip to Sheffield Crown Court where he will face 12 men (and women) and he'll be desperately hoping to not get any extra time in that match.

Hadn't spotted my subs had expired. Situation rectified for a few years. -
Which City player that you saw had the earliest City debut?
Midlands Robin replied to Eddie Hitler's topic in Football Chat
My first game was August 1992 (City v Sunderland). If he played then I expect it would have been Andy Llewellyn. -

Or was it because John Atyeo played his last game for City in May 1966? ? -

Ah yes, the good old days when transfer tribunals seemed to pluck random figures out of the air and always seemed to favour the buyer. A bargain. -
"Goodbye and good luc.... Oh shit, wait, the transfer window is next month. Forget I said anything.... Back to work everyone"

At 6'5 and about 18 stone LJ would have needed a back operation if he'd tried swinging me around. ?
-
To be fair, LJ gave me an absolutely amazing feeling when we beat Man Utd so I'll be for ever grateful for that Mark Ashton gave us some shit sound bites and a rapidly declining squad. I know who I want to win this one.

I see the new CEO is their former commercial manager. The man responsible for the "only Spurs have done more to develop their ground this summer" quote. The man responsible for their shit pasties, watered down Fanta and out of date crisps. The man who introduced Ticketmaster as their ticket seller, took their precious supporters club draw in house and ruined their awesome match day program. Yet he's a very nice man and approachable so seems ideally suited to continuing to bugger things up in a more senior role. ?
