  1. I think you'll find he came on with 15 or so minutes to play.
  2. Once he'd changed his Scottish ancestry....
  3. To be fair, their 'normal' fans appear rightly disgusted. Ashton Gate was a breath of fresh air for me today. Bristol City deserve to be commended for their outside fanzone style atmosphere and the welcome offered to me and my son in all areas. We had space around us in the stand and access to a pitchside snack bar. It was disappointing then to hear about the toilets being smashed and to see young lads having their collar felt for anti social behaviour outside the ground. 15 - 20 year olds giving it large and thinking they have the right to be offensive. Also seeing middle to late aged men with rage in their eyes towards other similar aged men because they support another football team. One in particular was right in the face of a Bristol City fan for no reason other than machismo was trying to intimidate and provoke a fella who was with his young son. I know Bristol have caused enough trouble themselves at times but it was some of our lot who disappointed today under the stands and when in contact with the locals.
  4. 24/4. That's what happens when you spend too much time trying ro improve red ball cricket.
  5. The BBC said it was a full bottle, full of something that looked like Lucozade....?.
  6. Ex-Crewe, Singaporean father. He was very promising when he was at Crewe, and I remember touting for him to be signed a few years ago when we were looking for a full back. He seems to have regressed a bit, however, since joining Cardiff.
  7. It would seem I have a problem with players whose family names begin with J - David Johnson comes to mind ?.
  8. Sometimes, it seems your pedantry has no limits. I shall try to explain, slowly.... The OP was about protective headgear and @grifty posted that 'Jimenez for Wolves wears a protective band which protects the area where he fractured his skull.' You will note that I have placed the full stop before the final punctuation marks, as the words I quoted form a stand alone sentence. Anyway, when, earlier this evening, I saw the words 'Jimenez for Wolves', I realised that I was mistaken the other evening and thought 'Oh, Silly Me!' I replied to @grifty, and thanked him for inadvertently correcting me for, as I posted earlier, it was, of course, Jimenez (the current Wolves player, a Mexican, but with a Latin family name beginning with J, who used to play in Portugal before joining Wolves) who suffered a skull injury, not Jota (who is, in fact, an ex-Wolves player, but also has a family name beginning with J and also used to play in Portugal - he is, of course, Portuguese). Not weird; I simply confused the two players. C'est tout.
  9. That was my point. I was watching Liverpool thinking the player who had suffered the skull injury was Jota (Portuguese player, ex-Wolves, family name begins with J - as do many) when, of course, it was Jimenez, (actually Mexican, but with a Latin name who played in Portugal before joining Wolves, whose family name also begins with a J). I got a little bit confused, that's all.
  10. Thanks for that. Do you know, I was watching Liverpool play against Arsenal last night and marvelling at Jota, thinking how brave (foolhardy?) he was to play without any head protection following his awful skull injury.
  11. Reading, if I recall correctly.
  12. Hmmm.... Sam Pearson was born in Cardiff, and represents Wales.
  13. That would seem to bring a close to any vague hopes I might have entertained about signing Peterson and/or Jansen.
  14. The added bonus, of course, is that he won't be able to bowl against us.
  15. My recollection from 'NP’s original wording' was that, when asked why DB wasn't playing, he replied along the lines that DB was not playing at the best of his form and MO'L was showing well in training. My take on NP's comment that DB 'knows the rules' was simply that, should a player show a lack of form/application and someone else appear to be in better form, then said player can expect to lose his place, captain or not; i.e. just because you are captain doesn't mean you can't be dropped should you lose form. To take 'the rules' thing a stage further, NP has stated on more than one occasion that the player who has inherited the place can expect to keep it, provided he maintains the form that earned him the chance in the first place. Them's the rules, and DB knows them - and so he should do, as captain. I neither heard nor read anything in NP's comments to suggest that DB had been dropped because he 'broke' any rules, and I must certainly did not infer that DB had been 'disciplined' in any way - some scurrilous posters were even suggesting that DB had returned from the Christmas break overweight or had even turned up for training under the influence!
  16. I'm pretty sure I read some time ago that they (Qatar) were considering erecting (expensive, luxurious?) tented villages in the desert.
  17. OK, Mr Pearson. You think referee Davies was shit? You don’t know what shit is. We’ll give you shit!
  18. My concern is that, should Reading continue their freefall, then, unless Peterborough can grab a few wins pretty rapidly, WRDC might yet pull of their great escape.
  19. To put things in to perspective, Fulham's goal difference (47) is higher than the goals scored by any other team!
  20. Hmmm. I am not sure AW is ever likely to make the last 16 of AFCON ?.
  21. I was going to dispute that and say he would be a good fit for Man Utd; and then I remembered - they are only 7th ?.
  22. And Harry McGuire - on their respective current form.
