  1. This one never seems to work for me. It tells me to disable my AdBlock, but even when I do it refuses to let me in.
  2. My apologies. I had to go back to the first page to find it, but you are quite correct - I was basing my (erroneous) response on a much later post, in which he said ‘some’. The moral, obviously, must be to read the whole thread before responding ?.
  3. Unless I’m mistaken, @VT05763 didn’t actually say that, though, did he? He merely suggested that not all players were fond of NP.
  4. I believe he (Blind) even plays for the National team.
  5. I’m assuming you are referring to Ribery the footballer, but he has also led a questionable private life.
  6. I'm quite enjoying the Afghanistan vs Pakistan game, and this is also building up to a nice finish. Fingers Crossed for Afghanistan.
  7. Quite an interesting game as it turned out, with an enjoyably tense finish.
  8. @BS4 on Tour... would be very proud of you ?.
  9. I suspect it has been erased - horrible memories for everyone present, as that was the match in which Paul Cheesley suffered his career ending injury. I was right behind it in the Open End.
  10. Totally off topic, as is often my wont, but do you have any idea what the incident was that changed Mourinho from his happy, chuckling stage to a raving madman? I can now see from where Steve Cooper and his entourage learnt their pitchside demeanour.
  11. That disappointed and quite surprised me as well. Whilst I appreciate that Steve Cooper was manager at Swansea (rather than assistant coach) , he seemed to be able to tap in to his previous youth contacts quite regularly.
  12. I am sorry. I don't think we have ever met, so I have no idea whether you are male or female - are we still allowed to say/ask that? On the assumption (based on your user name) that you are male (or perhaps a Blue Mink fan), then I would most certainly be concerned, to the extent that I would most likely chase you out with a good beating. Should you be female, however, and of a similar age and peer group, then I would have no qualms - I played football in Bristol for many years and shared many showers, even baths, with my (male) teammates, and I can assure you that their sexual persuasion never once crossed my mind.
  13. I agree, and I have thought this for quite some time. It seems to me that it is almost like saying: 'Hi Guys, I have a confession to make. I am sorry to have to admit that I am gay'. It just seems so negative for something that should just be accepted, embraced even. Some of us from an older generation will recall slurs being made about mixed raced relationships - I know it's not the same subject - but (thankfully) when one of my daughters tells me she has a new boyfriend my only concern is that she is happy (and safe).
  14. Why did your father do that? Was he concerned about not being accepted in a B&B in Weston-super-Mare? Don't tell me he had a dog as well! ?
  15. He is an extremely fast bowler, but suffers from a congenital back condition, as a result of which he is unable (physically, as opposed to some who choose) to play red ball cricket. Fingers crossed he does, as we don't really have any true pace in the absence of Archer. Hmm. I'm not sure that's really fair - his back problem is congenital.
  16. Apparently, although it seems to have slipped under the radar, there has been a change of ownership ?.
  17. For the record, it is not only @BTRFTG. Whilst I would not seek to try and condone JB's extraordinarily clumsy, crass comment, surely nobody truly believes he was trying to compare his players' catastrophic football performances with the genocide of some six million people; mainly Jews, of course, but also, lest we forget, a large number of Roma, ethnic Poles, homosexuals and disabled people, i.e. a horrific, heinous act commonly known as The Holocaust (or Shoah in Hebrew {in relation to the genocide of the Jewish majority of victims}). I am convinced that JB, who we all know likes to portray himself as an intellectual, was merely seeking a 'big' word to explain, or expand, his description and made a semantic error, a catachresis as @BTRFTG said earlier. What I do not understand and find difficult to excuse is the fact that neither JB nor BRFC appear to have commented, much less apologised, when surely just a few words, a simple acknowledgement that, in hindsight/upon reflection, JB's 'unfortunate' choice of words was inappropriate. Whilst, rightly or wrongly and for whatever reason, it is possible that neither JB nor BRFC felt an apology was warranted, I believe that, had they reacted promptly, this whole affair would have already blown over.
  18. I am sorry if you thought I was being a ****; that was most certainly not my intention. I genuinely thought you were proposing a ludicrous example as a sort of joke and assure you that I did not intend any offence.
  19. I am assuming, because your example is so ludicrous as to be laughable, that your question was not genuine at all, but, rather, was a facetious attempt at humour. There is not necessarily even any need to admit negligence/liability. Manchester City might just take the view that a Without Prejudice settlement, with no admission of anything, might be a more expedient and less expensive means to close this unsavoury incident once and for all, thus avoiding any further negative publicity.
  20. Noted and, of course, that makes sense. I must confess, I was one of the guilty ones who quoted the post when registering my disgust at its content. Nevertheless, I maintain my hope that, when @wendyredredrobin wakes up this morning, he (or she?) apologises. You will not be surprised to know that the quote made it to GasChat, where it has received thr expected responses.
  21. Was that Manchester City or Crewe (and Chelsea), including Dario Gradi? I'm not sure - it might have been all three of them.
  22. On a vaguely related subject, I am still running my PC using Windows 7! Despite the regular reminders from Microsoft that it is no longer supported and that I should update/upgrade to Windows 10, I have encountered no problems so far. I use my computer for Internet, Mail (Outlook) and MS Office (Version 2010) - essentially Word and Excel. Is there anything I should be wary of?
