  1. The Moody Blues were one of my favourite groups when I was younger. He later went on to play with Wings.
  2. Just in case you have neevr seen it.
  3. As I have mentioned previously, Strasbourg is quite nice.
  4. If it's the one I am thinking of, close to the bus station, I went there two or three years ago. It looks pretty uninspiring from the outside, and inside was not much better to be honest, but the food was very good indeed and very reasonably priced. In addition, there were quite a few Chinese people eating there, which is usually a good sign.
  5. Probably not even in their top ten, but I always used to love this.
  6. Oh, I know, and I am pretty sure I read some years ago that the Feyenoord badge is actually photoshopped, the original photo having been taken at a NFL game in the USA.
  7. Unfortunately, they seem to be starting younger every year.
  8. Not forgetting Sunderland under Roy Keane and, a little more recently, Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest.
  9. Hmmm. I wouldn't be surprised if a certain midfielder from Oxford was on our shopping list.
  10. Almost overlooked by the deaths of the Pogues' frontman and a Brookside actor, a great foreign statesman has also passed away. RIP Henry Kissinger. How we could do with him today.
  11. When I was (a lot) younger, Terry Paine and Don Rogers were two of my favourite players.
  12. Not an easy decision. Normally, I would suggest Lewis Gregory, but, unfortunately, he is frequently unavailable due to injury. Similarly, whilst Ben Green has some limited captaincy experience (50 overs), he is not guaranteed a first team place and, of course, his experience in captaincy is effectively limited to second eleven players who are even younger than him.
  13. I really shouldn't have condescended to respond, but what a pathetic retort.
  14. I see, all clear now. So who owns Pula Sport Limited, then?
  15. I thought he’d asked for his account to be deleted .
  16. As I said, I agree that both you and Eddie are correct technically, but I just feel more comfortable saying ‘they’ when referring to, e.g. a football team. Were somebody to ask me how City played today, I am sure I would reply (hopefully) ‘They were fantastic’, rather than ‘he, she or it’ played etc.
  17. I gave Eddie a like earlier, as I believe he is correct technically. Nevertheless, would he not agree that it would ‘sound better’, were 22A to have written that Barnsley ‘have’ been thrown out of the FA Cup? Incidentally, I make no comment on the choice of the phrase ‘thrown out’, which is only marginally better than the ‘kicked out’ chosen by the BBC .
  18. Well, I am truly surprised. I am aware he had some problems in his life, but not that they existed during his actual playing career. I remember one match away against Portsmouth, when I was in the enclosure at the side of the pitch - anybody who has been there will know that it is very low down. I was watching him head the ball in the warm up, and remember thinking what a fine athlete he looked - thighs like huge hams and, from a standing start, heading the ball from the edge of the penalty area to the half way line.
  19. I know it's a few years ago now, but can you imagine Len Fricker putting up with that or, indeed, anybody adopting that attitude towards him?
  20. I saw this on one of their forums, which I thought, to be fair, was quite amusing. Remember the ’s 5 pillars ? Well we’ve got at least 6 !
  21. As you were saying @SecretSam, you moron .
