  1. I was going to correct you, saying you were confusing Geoff Merrick with Brian Drysdale. Then, after seeing this post, I looked at the Official Site. I would never have recognised him.
  2. Especially Ryan Patel. 75NO, including two sixes. He is the young bowler who took six for almost nothing when we played against Surrey at Guildford a few years ago.
  3. Ha. To be fair, three are simply unavailable, including Matt Renshaw who is still in Pakistan; two fell 'ill' yesterday and George Bartlett apparently injured his shoulder in training yesterday.
  4. Just been mentioned that 8 first choices are unavailable - injury, illness (Gregory and Brooks) and 'rested' (COVE and Jack Leach).
  5. For anybody who is interested. https://www.somersetcountycc.co.uk/match-centre/
  6. So did I. I was very tempted to switch to Chelsea, but found this a really enjoyable game. Can you imagine? I really don’t think they would, but, à la Keegan, I would love it if they did. As far as I have been led to believe, it was only men who had twinkles in their eyes back in the 1950s; women didn’t really start to enjoy ‘that sort of thing’ until the 1960s.
  7. My best ever. Daily Quordle 71 quordle.com ? ?? ?? ????? ? ???? ?? ????? ? ? ??? ? ? ?? ? ??? ????? ??? ?????
  8. That is a lovely picture. Just wonderful to see so many smiling faces, Han-Noah included.
  9. I think a certain Mr Hill was responsible for that, rather than Bristol City. Not that I was particularly bothered. Was I heck, what a wonderful night.
  10. Likewise me with Saint Mirren, after we were treated like long lost friends in their supporters club before and after the Anglo Scottish cup final.
  11. Quite a quick change of opinion, as he was receiving rave reviews when he first arrived.
  12. I had to search for it, but it was back in 2015,
  13. I remember suggesting that several years ago. I can’t remember precisely when, but it was around the time he played exceptionally well and scored an absolutely cracking goal against our blue friends north of the river. Not only Jon Dolman, but also @Nogbad the Bad. I hope you are both OK.
  14. I saw this quote from Jonathan Woodgate on the West Ham/Everton match earlier. Michail Antonio has been outstanding. I think he is underrated. Difficult to play against, quick. He just needs a bit more composure in front of goal to get to the next level. Remind you of anyone?
  15. I agree. I know it sounds very much like Del Boy's 'This time next year', but if Atkinson continues as he seems to be doing now; Tanner recovers his fitness and pre-injury form; Matt James and Joe Williams get themselves physically and match fit and we hold on to the three young amigos, next year does seem very promising.
  16. I then tried QUORDLE. Sometimes the letters just fit, and I was so tempted to try PIKEY on the top right and bottom left squares. Daily Quordle 69 quordle.com ??? ? ??? ? ????? ? ?? ?? ????? ??? ? ? ?? ? ??? ????? ?? ?? ?????
  17. I hadn't done it before I saw your post, but then gave it a try and, after the letters from my first guess, tried LOSER. I was wrong, but, Yes, very Rovers themed ?.
  18. I watched on line, and I didn't really notice this at first, but it was very impressive indeed. If you watch carefully on the clip, Conway looks up and sees Weimann, who is way outside of the box at this stage, start his run. Conway then waits, and waits...., and then puts in a perfect low cross to meet Andi's late run. https://streamja.com/29Q9a * Bournemouth's third was a very good goal, but, equally, Scott's defending was very poor. https://streamja.com/G2K2B * * With acknowledgements and many thanks to @IAmNick
  19. Unfortunately, you are probably right. She is 30 now, not getting any fitter and England must surely look to the future; they are a good team, but not a patch on Australia, as today showed.
  20. So, can Somerset's own (Bath) Anya Shrubsole MBE see us home?
  21. Australia scored 120 runs from their final ten overs. We needed 90 something.
  22. I shall be very disappointed if the remaining two wickets fall before Nat S scores a well-deserved Century. Obviously Nat S would be even more disaapointed, but.... Phew! It must be so disheartening for England. They have just scored 9 from an over and their required run-rate has gone up!
  23. I am sure she panicked as only three runs had been scored in the over. A shame, as there was no need - England were going along quite nicely at 6.5ish an over.
  24. Right. This is now, surely, the make or break partnership. Nat S seems well set (she scored a Century against Australia last time out) and Sophia Dunkley is a very promising young batter. Fingers crossed.
  25. Even more unlikely now that Heather Knight has gone. I was going to post earlier that Tammy B was batting well, but didn't want to jinx her, and was just going to post the same about Heather K. I must get these thoughts out of my head as Nat Sciver is also batting well. It is very unfortunate as, in normal circumstances, a score verging on 6 an over against Australia would be considered very good indeed, but, sadly, will be nowhere near enough today.
