  1. I suspect most observers, Derby fans or further afield, share a common view that Quantuma’s handling of the administration has been totally incompetent and unprofessional; even scandalous if this latest story is correct. Whilst, in normal circumstances, none of us would wish liquidation on a fellow football club, with all the heartache for innocent fans and financial distress to creditors, especially small local businesses, I am now sort of hoping that it does happen, even more so as I have heard it mentioned that Mel Morris was instrumental in Quantuma’s appointment. The icing on the cake would be for any phoenix club to be prevented from staying in the EFL and for MM to be left with his stadium as an empty white elephant and still in hock to Dell.
  2. I really don’t know if they saw the surname and just assumed Colchester’s manager was the wonderfully tanned Phil Brown, but it was, in fact, Wayne Brown, who played at the back for Hull in the play-off final.
  3. Funnily enough, I was thinking about him last night. Is he still with Barnsley? He wasn't in their squad. Perhaps the two are connected.
  4. Or, if you want to stay closer to home rather than travelling to North London, I understand Bristol Rovers are doing quite well and, apparently, playing attractive football. Probably a lot cheaper, too.
  5. It reminds me of a scene in the Fawlty Towers episode with the two American doctors, where the husband is criticising the standard and claims the hotel is the worst in the country. The Major, loyal as ever, steps in to say: ’No, I wont have that. There’s a hotel in Eastbourne!’
  6. Assuming the claim is true, and were Lech Poznań to raise a complaint with UEFA/FIFA, would the latter be entitled to penalise Derby after the event, i.e. ban them from playing?
  7. Was that the last minute penalty following O’Dowda’s supposed push?
  8. Are City not allowed to recall their on-loan players to play in U-23 matches and the like? Or are City just being ‘kind’ and respectful that Paulton have a game?
  9. You are correct, but, if you have ever played football to any reasonable level, you will know that the body becomes more delicate the higher you go. Whereas, at my level, we would meet in the car park and drive in convoy, Premier League and the like need first class travel with all the space and comfort that comes with it. It is the same with injuries: where we would run it off or, if it was serious, receive the ‘magic sponge’ or, even, in extreme cases, smelling salts, you will have noticed how the Premier League stars (and Rotherham under Neil Warnock) crumple immediately to the floor and require several minutes of specialist treatment. Poor old Chelsea, I say.
  10. You have probably already seen it, but David Squire's view on the situation. https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2022/mar/15/david-squires-on-the-fall-of-chelsea-roman-empire
  11. It is the non-refundable aspect where, for me, the suggestion lacks credibility. I can understand, without in any way condoning it, that Quantuma would like to get some extra cash in urgently, so the suggestion that prospective bidders might have to pay a deposit is feasible. I am not convinced, however. that this would solve Derby's cash flow problem, as I should have thought any deposits would be placed in an Escrow account - similar to a CARPA account over here - and, as the whole point of an Escrow account is to protect the funds, they would not even be available until the transacton was complete. I would just love it, a la Kevin Keegan, if this is the scandalous behaviour to which Kevin Maguire refers; Quantuma requesting that non-refundable deposits be placed in Derby's/Quantuma's own account, the account of a football club that might be liquidated within months.
  12. Two points/questions relating to your post. 1. The aspect that surprises me, so much so that I am convinced there is no truth in the claim, is that the deposit is to be non-refundable! An absolutely preposterous and ludicrous suggestion in my opinion. 2. If I am wrong about 1. (above), is this the aspect that Maguire finds scandalous?
  13. I was too late to edit my previous post, but notwithstanding what appears, from a distance, to be a thoroughly incompetent and unprofessional handling of Derby’s Administration, my money is still on Chipley’s mate being wrong about this £5M non-refundable deposit. To my mind, such a request would be inconceivable and, furthermore, extremely unlikely to be taken up by any seriously interested party.
  14. So, just to make sure I have understood this correctly. Consortium A is tentatively interested and is requested to pay £5M up front, an amount which is non-refundable, just to register their interest and receive access to sufficient documentation to undertake due diligence. Upon examination, they discover it is the can of worms many suspect it is and withdraw their interest. Quantuma say, no problem, thanks for your time, but you are not getting your £5M back. Goodbye. Either I have completely misunderstood this, which is very possible, or the whole debacle is even more outrageous and farcical that I imagined.
  15. Thank You. That makes sense now - quite obvious, once it's pointed out ?.
  16. So, after a few (unsuccessful) practice runs, I finally solved my first Quordle. Octordle ? ? ?? octordle.com ?? ??? ???? ? ???? ????? ? ? ?? ????? ?? ??? ?? ????? ? ? ? ??? ? ?? ????? ? ? ??? ? ?? ? ?? ? ?? ????? ????? ?? ?? ?? ?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ? ? ? ????? ? ? ????? I have just edited as, for some reason, the solution appeared! Does anybody know what the clock sign means?
  17. Now on to Quordle. Daily Quordle #50 quordle.com ?? ? ??? ?? ???? ?? ????? ?? ???? ????? ? ?? ?? ?? ? ?? ?? ?? ????? ?????
  18. A good, fortunate start today. Wordle 269 3/6 ?? ???? ????? I shall try and give Octordle a go later. For the benefit of, and as requested by @Port Said Red, I have finally managed to delete my signature.
  19. I am sorry. I was being facetious.
  20. So, Quantuma not as incompetent as is being claimed. Just think, twenty potential buyers all paying a non-refundable deposit of £5M, that makes £100M, less Quantuma’s fee, leaves a net £50M. Problem solved, Well Done Quantuma. Or perhaps your Derby friend is mistaken ?.
  21. I was going to mention that, but wasn't sure it was a matter that could be discussed. All circumstantial, of course. but Yes, Mr and Mrs H were apparently present at the event. You will recall that Clint Hill had to return home shortly after the event became public for 'personal. family reasons' - my perception was that Mrs H was probably giving him grief about him continuing to work with Mr B following the incident. As @NcnsBcfc says, if this matter does indeed reach Court, then no doubt Mr and Mrs H's presence wil be mentioned - Mrs H may even be called to give evidence for the Prosecution, hence the 'personal family reasons' for which Mr H had to return home and subsequently leave the Club: I can't imagine Mr B being particularly happy if there was some suggestion his assistant's wife was likely to give evidence against him. Who knows, Mrs H may even have been injured herself during the alleged fracas. One can only hope that the truth emerges, with or without a Court appearance.
  22. I had to go back to the highlights to check, but it was O'Dowda who was fouled on both occasions. The foul by the goalkeeper occurs about 30 seconds in. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/highlights-coventry-city-3-2-bristol-city/
  23. Hi @Port Said Red. Sorry about that. I tried to insert the photo as my avatar, rather than a footer, and didn't realise how big it would be: I think I have now rectified it. I don't know whether you have seen the sketch to which my photo referred, but here is the link - I just found it hilarious, and you should try and watch it (it is two minutes long) if you haven't done so already. Poor old Daniel McAdams. He is Head of the Ron Paul Institute, and usually quite mild mannered, and I just knew when I started watching the sketch it wasn't him talking.
  24. I am not sure which is more difficult, Wordle or Quordle - I have yet to try Octordle. I always complete Wordle and, apart from a very few occasions, Quordle also. Like @Northern Red, my failures were due to having multiple choices at the end with just the one letter left; like tokay, with the multiple choice arriving early, but wasting numerous lines, and my pet hate, the well known words with American spelling ?.
