    This forum will never change

    You are probably right,

FWIW I think the Pearson V Manning debate and point scoring will rumble on for the rest of the season, as we will undoubtably lose matches, maybe go on a 3-4 game losing run before we land where I think we will which will be anywhere between 8th-12th. You can then make an argument either way based on that when Pearson was sacked we were 11th and no one knows what could have happened when he got key players back from injury.

I appreciated the work Nigel did In his time with us when he was left to front this club out whilst he was working with a board who appear to have never really supported him fully, which is frankly appalling.

Did I really enjoy the football under Pearson- over the course of his tenure I would say slightly underwhelming so I hope the apparent more front football under Mannning continues and we can then see what happens when he has an opportunity to bring in his type of player in the summer.

Ridiculous how quickly some are writing him off. It’s not his fault that Pearson was sacked. It’s a solid start for him now. Give the guy a fair chance.

Indeed some of the posts have been very OTT- messages to the fan base, messages to Jon Lansdown etc.

Hopefully we can keep building on last two results

  3. Agreed second half was one way traffic- but got to say up to 35 mins that was our best first half at Ashton gate this season other than Plymouth Imo- we looked dangerous had several good efforts at goal, but what was most pleasing was the resolve to hold onto a fragile lead.

well done Liam and team- 3 points against Hull and that will add some real balance to his start as manager

Sure - but that was the option he has most of the time. It is frustrating there was often nothing better on than a pass backwards or sideways but Tanner kept the ball whereas trying to make a pass that often wasn’t on wouldn’t have done that.

There are obviously pros and cons - it is good to be in possession but sometimes a speculative ball can produce a breakthrough - but I strongly suspect Tanner was following what he had been instructed to do in not ceding possession unnecessarily.

Agreed, but I also always feel when he has space in front of him to carry us forward he is very hesitant, he is not short of pace so why not attack the space harder, get yourself further forward then maybe your pass option becomes one of our midfielders rather than vyner.

Maybe I am wrong but the problem seems to me to be that Manning wants the players to keep possession and build patiently but some players are much better at that than others and the ones that let it down make the whole approach look ridiculous.

I think Tanner, James and Dickie -and probably Sykes -  all managed to pretty much keep the ball consistently each time they got it. Vyner did most of the time but his lapses cost us. I felt Pring, Weimann and Williams in particular were wasteful and that massively undermines the patient build-up approach.

Yeah but Tanner did that because 95% of his passes are back to one of the centre backs- so frustrating to watch because I think he has the attributes to be a solid right back at this level

Back him people. He didn't sack Nige. And he left a club that clearly pressed him to stay, to come be here with us. So not exactly a bloody 'yes man'.

Take frustrations out on the Lansdown's, not a coach with a good record here to take us forward.

Welcome Liam, let's ******* do this.

    Absolutely this,

Congratulations and good luck Liam- we move on.

Not sure why he would want to come here, he's doing well with Oxford & would surely want to finish the job there.

See what you are saying but whilst they have had a great start I don’t see them getting promoted. After some slow starts it looks like the bigger more experienced and better resourced clubs in league one such as Pompey, Bolton, Barnsley, Peterborough and derby are starting to rise to the top and can see 3 of those 5 going up this season.

And to be honest as well as he is doing we are a much bigger job if he has serious ambition

Meets the club at 11am today. That has come from a very good friend of his. HE WILL be our manager by the end of tomorrow Friday. He will be at Ashton Gate on Saturday to watch the team. I don't care if people want to dismiss what I've said, but my friend is someone who has known Frank since they were both at West Ham in the mid 90s and Frank has openly told him since Sunday afternoon, he wants this job. He sees us as an under achieving team who should be in the Premier League.

The posted above who said his agent met the club, that is not true in the slightest. Frank technically doesn't have an agent, he has a business manager, and financial consultant, but neither of those get involved in football related matters. He approached a member of our staff, and he was put in touch with someone. He spent 2 hours on the phone with them on Monday, saying why he wanted the job, and made it clear, he is serious about taking Bristol City to the Premier League.

Since then, he has been sorting out personal matters and meets the club today, but he wants the job. Also, I've read that people are saying Jody Morris will come with him, he won't. As said on the other thread the other day, Michael Johnson, the England Under 18 coach will be coming with him, as his assistant, not Jody. Frank is heavily impressed by our academy and youth development and thinks that he and Johnson can help progress a number of youngsters and take the club forward.

Call out all you want, say what you want, and if I am wrong I am wrong, but I won't be. Since Frank got in touch, the club turned their attentions away from Eustace and Rowett and feel that Lampard matches the clubs ambition and remit.

I will say it one final time, and wont be posting again until he is announced as manager, which means if he isn't, I wont post again full stop. Frank Lampard will be our new manager, he is expected to sign a deal today and it will be announced tomorrow, and he will be at the game on Saturday. Michael Johnson will assist him.

Fair shout you have put yourself on the line and don’t see why anyone would lie about this and you have gone into detail.

    let’s see
