  1. Yes well done LM and squad for 4 games wherever really did show we can mix it at a higher level.

Now the tough job in making sure we just don't give up as season seems over. The squad must stay together in wanting to improve and showing in the league what we have in the FAcup.

    Well of course

  3. Expectation and hope ?

I been watching city since mid Seventies. So seen some incredible highs and lows. Do I think the premier league should be a realistic expectation? Hell yes. Does my head see it happening ? I doubt it. Would a new owner make it possible ? Likely yes. Do I want a foreign ownership ? Definitely not.

Any expectation to build a premier league squad has to come with many compromises.

Does any of the above effect my support of Bristol City ? Absolutely not.

    - We didn’t really make massive improvements for the now, but I don’t think that was necessary in view of where the season is

    - The structures of the Bird and Stokes deals are sensible and allow us to bring in players who we may have be outbid for in the summer wages wise

    - The fact we have multiple midfield signings puts the club in a strong position if they want to negotiate with Williams/James - in effect we can stick to a ceiling now we have options

    - Try before you buy on Medube

    - The only real negative mark is Twine. Not through him as a player, but as has been noted the lack of buy option and likely minimal long term benefit from the deal considering where we are (there is an argument we replaced AWs wages but some of that was also a balance in the TGH deal)

    - Didn’t lose anyone bar AW. There are some that I think do need moving on but again, I think that may be better done in the summer

    Decent overall

Yeah makes sense. Time will tell

Realistically you don’t win all of those either.

My problem at present (I’m not rehashing the Pearson argument again) is I’m not even sure he’s making the best of what I accept is a thin squad.

Knight certainly isn’t best utilised where he’s playing & if he is going to play 2 strikers (I like Nakhi but I’m not sure it suits us) then playing TC on the left sure isn’t the best way.

Finally his refusal to give Roberts any game time at all suggests he doesn’t rate him & any time Mehmeti gets on in front of Bell or even Cornick baffles me.

Is Roberts now fit to play ?

Sykes when he's fit, but in recent weeks that wasn't an option, so it would have been Bell or Cornick.

By the way, I voted for 'other' because I just love a good old fashioned 4-4-2 😁

But surely neither Sykes, bell or Cornick would give the cover McCorie does for Tanner. So does it improve the right side. Mind might be worth a try

It's a fair assumption to make that Nige would have got us back top half with his 3l433 and the players currently available, BUT it's still speculation.

It would still have Bell and Weimann, and they didn't seem to be having good seasons. Would McCrorie at right back made a big difference? That was the big assumption when Tanner was struggling, and you'd think so having seen him doing well at RWB.

I think both you and I felt our front man was too isolated this season, and whilst Knight was helping that link, we were still struggling to create chances.

I really like McCorie in front of Tanner. But would McCorie full back be worth a look. Who goes in front of McCorie ?

A brilliant 2 minute round of applause for the victims of knife crime, by both sets of supporters.

Preceded by 3 or 4 minutes of "You're singing now, we don't know why, cos after the game, you're gonna die".

    Ouch

I watched on TV and did not hear that. Was it both sets of fans ?

I don't think possession football is the problem, I think it's possession football with this group of players.

We saw the natural issue of Manning-ball with a Pearson squad, against a team who are extremely effective at denying time and space to their opponent. Our players wanted an extra second on the ball tonight they didn't have - and it's because they aren't players who have the qualities needed to play possession football. It's not their fault, that's not why they were brought here.

I don't think you are far from the truth there Nick. The current squad does not have the current skill set to play the LM way. Will the additions this Jan effect that ? Not this season I would of thought. BT did mention summer incomings. So I take it the rest of this season is written off as we should really not end up in a relegation fight. And ok if new signings have the pre season that could be a different looking squad with increased expectations. But I have no doubt there will be players leaving in the summer and I feel we all know who would be attracting potential buyers. So we start another rebuild. Strikes me rather than holding onto our better players and building on that base they will be sold to buy in new players . Therefore it's a team always in rebuild.  A never ending circle of mid table championship football. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the championship and cup flurries. But how does that club player set up ever become a potential top 6 side.

    Just my thoughts

Hopefully we will revert to a 433. Seems as though he can play both sides , so probably a wide forward

Exactly my thoughts. 4-3-3 really now seems to have players to fit.

Mind from when LM arrived it was always going to be keys see how we change over the rest of this season.

Will we now look to sign again in summer with no doubt some going too.

  11. It's a new badge in the new badge style. its a simplified new badge style. Fine.

What I don't get is this badge to represent club identity.

What a load of tosh. It's a badge. So many more things represent a club's Identity. And I just feel the badge does diddly squat to that.

    Just my opinion 👷
