I assume that is a typo and you meant "dissent"? There is more than one way to skin a cat. Nige has chosen one way (stick young un's not ready on the bench and get them on the pitch), Liam another (only stick players who are up to it on the bench and if the bench is not filled so be it). Both are entirely reasonable courses of action imo and sending exactly the same message. I don't call it "dissent" to make a perfectly valid point to the hierarchy that new bodies are required in the building, however if the powers that be are sensitive enough to deem it as "dissent" to their authority then we all know what will happen to Liam in due course......
Our current and previous Manager have both encountered this unhelpful situation, which any sane person would accept reasonably affects "our chances of success", due to the incompetence of the hierarchy over a long period. Obviously Liam cannot point that out so he has to give some sort of hint that he needs new bodies in the building. He would be failing HIMSELF if he didn't.
Yes typo

But NP had a point to make, our squad wasn't and still isnt strong enough and we have to fill the bench with young players that should be on loan as they are not quite ready for the championship. The owners should have realised this and backed him in the summer LM only put 8 on the bench agaist WHU perhaps hes trying to make the same point
Yes this is a good point. NP wanted more strength in squad numbers and really these youngsters on the bench would be better served being on loan. Does LM's benches suggest he is showing the same as thing as NP's did? Bit early in LMs time to show decent you would of thought .

Yes he will do lots to add strength whether in defence or midfield

Yes, remember that, in fact the pilot in the corner of the Williams / Atyeo was just above the wheelchair area we used to occupy.
Yep, no fan thinks that, but the club….well that’s a different matter!
But does it not come with other issues
Away fans in upper Lansdown,we have both ends safe standing, nest egg for new players,
But he owns the club

Went to West Ham yesterday and experienced my 1st safe standing at a football match. It was brilliant and much better than sitting. I’m in my 60’s and a season ticket holder for longer than I can remember. I would love to see the whole South stand become safe standing, which would bring back the atmosphere that we saw yesterday.
for those that have not experienced it, I will try to explain why I preferred it to sitting. You still get your allocated seat so this is your position and yours alone, so will be next to your mates or partner. You can see easily over the person in front as modern stands are much steeper that the old terraces the we used to stand on. The railing in front of you is at a good height to lean on and when someone wants to go to the toilet or get food etc, they just walk past you. No having to stand up or swing your knees to one side to let them past. Also, when celebrating a goal it much safe than having a seat at knee height in front of you (granted yesterday’s celebrations were due to the occasion) as you could jump and not fear of falling over. You can sit before the match starts, during half time & during long delays when the physio comes on.
we should allow all fan’s currently sitting in the south stand who would not like to experience safe standing to be relocated to the Dolman stand or upper tier of the West stand and I’m sure there’s some fans from those areas would swap for safe standing in the South stand.
I know this is unlikely to happen, but I’m sure if we did get to the premiership. Most people in the South stand would be standing unsafely anyway.
Does this not depend on the forward plans of our owner.

It’s clear we need a stronger bench, we struggled after those subs. Really hope we can get a good couple of forward players this month, with quality like McCrorie, Naismith and Atko to come back too.
We seem to be adding to the required numbers of new players that SL will pay for this January

Is the Coventry figure documented or just folklore?
I did wonder if that game might be the record.
Not sure it easy to put exact figure on as was all pay on the day I seem to remember. But was great nite and one hell of a lot of thus there

SL has said everyone has their price. But I think TC has much to prove before we would get a decent price for him

Today’s press interviews indicated “this boss ain’t for changing”…so similar set up / approach.
I am not sure whether to respect that attitude or think omg be more open-minded
Hey I am not a professional league manager
And West ham is a free hit

I agree. I think the stuff the club put out is good. I think it’s where Jon’s heart lies. Being rude I wish he stuck to that than try to be Chairman with aspirations of being CEO.
Just get him away from anything to do with football at the club

Might it a be a game where the boss will give minutes to those coming out of injury lay ups or try something different ?

I can remember as a young lad already being an going to stand on the East and away trips loving the FS cup. And on final day . Watching from breakfast time through to the games end. It was so special.
Jealous of all those going. Shout and sing loud do our club proud. Fingers crossed for the team

Gosh I always remember I would try boots on for ever trying to find the cheapest most comfy. I always wore two socks under my boots to have the shin pad between them . It saved taping the s.hin lads on. I remember when I started in the men's leagues at 15. I never wore shin pads. Untill one of the older players was covered a game in our reserve side . And was shocked I did not wear shon pads
He gave me his and ordered me to wear them . it so funny looking back

I would hazard a guess that this particular signing won't help the first team at all or very minimal at best this year
Yeah my feelings too
Soo did our suits not suggest we had a good top six squad? Therefore would improving that squad not need oven ready players to improve that squad for the promotion push they inclined was their aim.
Just as I see it. And I appreciate I might of misunderstood the reasons for NP's sacking

He has been brought in for the academy first and foremost
Not anytime soon, according to academy coaches
Does not help this season much then.
