  2. I haven't checked, but they must have really gone up in price if a Championship footballer is remarking on it!
  3. Jack Taylor taking a leaf out of the England playbook 59 off 59 with 5 sixes and 4 fours, coming in at 95-5
  4. His name came up on a radio show discussing Haaland which prompted to look at his record again. I love this bit in particular from his WIki page. He would score goals now I think but I don't think he would be quite this prolific. "In the 1960–61 season, Greaves scored hat-tricks against Wolves, Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City; he scored four goals against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest; and hit five goals in a 7–1 win over West Bromwich Albion. His hat-trick against Manchester City on 19 November included his 100th league goal, making him the youngest player to pass the 100-goal mark, at the age of 20 years and 290 days." Wow!
  5. Yes, I thought @REDOXOwas asking about strikers though? From front to back we have some really exciting looking players coming up.
  6. Seb Palmer-Houlden Tommy Backwell Both seem in favour. SP-H is a prospect Sam Pearson is having a good run out at Yeovil but is being played wide. Not sure if Prince Henry is fancied? The next generation again has Ben Ap Sion just signed from from Guernsey.
  7. Has he got it mixed up with talk like a parrot day?
  8. Anyone think it's a bit unfair that Wordle resets your streak if life stops you playing one day? Quordle or Nerdle don't do the same.
  9. Keep it up, you know this one fight where colours don't matter and you have the support of all of us I am sure.

  11. (Dawning of a) New Era - Specials AKA
  12. The best exponent we had of this was Gerry Sweeney. He seemed to have the knack of throwing the ball at such an angle that the defender could only head it into touch again. I couldn't count the number of times he would work us from one end of the pitch to the other through a series of 3 or 4 throws. As you say, the risk to reward is good and it's difficult for teams to turn the ball over. It worked well in that era as Alan Dicks was one of the leading proponents of possession based football in the country.
  13. I think their whole seasons focus will now be on that game, they will be desperate for Lincoln to beat us, no matter what the scoreline.
  14. It's the men's world cup we are discussing Cyril, otherwise I would be with you all the way.
  15. Hey Nettie, how's your health? I am guessing your boys aren't helping you feel any better.
  16. Isn't that the "P E teachers" in charge of Lincoln there? I mean, it wouldn't be like Joey to hold a grudge would it?
  17. Moulding of a Fool - Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott
  18. It's rein, don't worry I got an admonishment from a couple of posters for exactly the same mistake.
  19. One of the funniest things (hooligan related) happened at Elm Park, even my normally straitlaced dad laughed. Having spent much of the game avoiding the broken glass from the bottles that were constantly being thrown at us, we reluctantly moved out of range. We then noticed that the CSF (or whatever they were called then) started to leave about 5 minutes from the end, which as it was only 1-1 seemed a bit strange. Anyway the final whistle blew and immediately the boys appeared at the far end of the ground and started running along the pitch side towards the bottle throwers. The funny bit was watching around 100 lads trying to get out through an exit two doors wide. Even our lads stopped and we're just pointing and laughing at them, my dad just said "they must have run out of bottles".
  20. Or this version of Elvis Costello's London's Brilliant Parade. https://youtu.be/VZW2dU4olnQ
  21. Certainly have no complaints from the last two games. We all knew that we have had benefitted from some pretty poor finishing by the opposition in previous games, and that these two teams would be less generous. I didn't see the Norwich game but even a few neutrals I read were in agreement that we would have got a result on another day, take out the 2 Naismith gifts and we run out 2-1 winners. Knowing that the players didn't arrive home until 4am on Thursday morning I thought they would just wilt away on Saturday. Even having a day off and flying to Manchester wasn't really going to balance that kind of travel schedule especially after having to play Norwich. As it was, I thought Burnley looked destined to return to the Prem, not only do they have a lot of class players, but they had a work rate that matched our own. The fact that we were still going at 94 minutes is testament to work they have been putting in this summer and how the medical team have helped too.
  22. If Norwich had been our tenth game instead of Burnley, I am confident we would have had 17pts from our 1st 10, and who knows we may have taken even more momentum into the Norwich game. That would have made a us all even happier.
  23. Watching on the stream I think he was lucky the Burnley players didn't make more of that challenge and get the referee to pull a red. He was late and very high, not nice at all.
