  1. 3-2 now, Acey and Morrison on at HT, Bell sets up Leeson to score. Backwell now on for Knight-Lebel so going for goals. Henry on for Bell, scores.
  2. 3-0 HT and Joe Low sent off (2 yellows)
  3. Left Lyrics in the Practice Room - Half Man Half Biscuit
  4. At the risk of getting this moved into the General Chat forum (probably should be really). I have never felt he was a top vocalist anyway, he's a good showman and can hold a tune, and in my opinion he hasn't got any worse. Having lived with a Robbie fan for his whole career the songs are generally easy enough on the ear, the two exceptions are Come Undone which is startingly good and could potentially make it into my top 100 songs, and Candy which is almost unlistenable and had me covering my ears. Anyway, of the 21000 there I would say 99% that had a great time, 0.9 of us found it a good night and then there was the girl in front of us who spent the night on Instagram and Whatsapp and barely looked at the stage.
  5. No I am assuming that the ones booking into the hotel are not Mancunian. By the way as a last note on this, here is an exchange from the gig last night when Robbie picked out a lady in the crowd. Robbie: I keep seeing your smile and it's great, what's your name? Lady: Tracy Robbie: Where have you come from Tonight? Tracy: Portsmouth Robbie: ****! That's a long way isn't it? Robbie: Ah well, you can probably get a lift back with the Man U fans. Big cheer and a round of applause from the crowd.
  6. Fair enough, just looking at them in the bar, I have a feeling I will be seeing some half and half scarves in the foyer tomorrow.
  7. I am taking my wife to see Robbie Williams in Manchester tonight (all sympathy gratefully received :l) The hotel we are staying in is full, it's about 1/4 of a mile from the venue. The thing is, it's not all Robbie fans, a large number of the people here have Utd shirts or scarves etc, confirming that age old conception that most of their fans don't come from Manchester at all.
  8. Sorry mate, but your post seems somewhat rambling at best and without context, without knowing what you are referring too, it's difficult to decipher.
  9. As The Verve once sang. "Now the drugs don't work They just make you worse"
  10. Up in Manchester for a couple of days and came across this plaque in Mosley Street. I thought some of you might be interested.
  11. We seem to be the only game missing on the Sky highlights round up.
  12. But, although the hosts stepped up their efforts after the break, they still could not manage a single effort on target, until Swift's right-footer flicked off the bar five minutes into injury time. Is @Olé right or the BBC? Where the BBC are definitely wrong is in wording it in such a way as to suggest that hitting the woodwork is a shot on target.
  13. That top one looks like an 80's Indie band album cover. Someone like Echo and the Bunnymen, that sort of band.
  14. For walking down country lanes on a foggy night, more like.
  15. Now over the years I have been a fan of the more "outre" fashions and colours, I may not wear them myself but I applaud those who do. I have a feeling however that this particular rain jacket may not be prevalent around the ground. Also, Purple? Looks more like Fuschia Pink to me.
  16. You Are My Sister - Antony and the Johnsons
  17. I guess the argument would be that there was no advantage gained as it was the same for both sides in each match. Possibly a small fine and a reminder of the rules of the game.
  18. Paul Heaton is a great lyricist, I have always enjoyed the fact that so many of their songs have those sweet "poppy" hooks which get you singing along to what turn out to be less than sweet lyrics. Mind you sometimes he can just go straight for the jugular. Heatongrad is a good example of the latter. **** the king, and **** the queen, with an AK-47 Line 'em up against the walls, and let them talk to Heaven Give them same dice they gave us and let them roll a seven Welcome to Heatongrad When your friendly local tax dodger is lynched for all to see And the newspaper editors swing from ape and tree When the trains and buses, education, health and safety's free Welcome to Heatongrad Remember Tonygrad? Launching of the lad's might to the streets of Baghdad That made you oh-so-sad Left so far a cleft like the first meal they had They treated dear old Blighty like some death-cheap shag Now they're paying zero tax in Richard Branson's pad **** the army, **** the law, and **** their uniform You don't need no medal to know where you were born You don't need no tattooed arm to know that you're now sworn Sworn into Heatongrad Rob the rich to feed the poor, we'll tax their bleedin' blood 'Til the brain drain we dreamt about drains down to where it should The sewer rat, the alley cat, are back in charge of hood Welcome to Heatongrad Remember Tonygrad? The launching of the lad's might to the streets of Baghdad That made you oh-so-sad Left so far a cleft like the first meal they had They treated dear old Blighty like some death-cheap shag Now they're paying zero tax in Richard Branson's pad Freedom's just a clever word The mighty like to use Election, chance to drop your pants And see who actually screws Liberty don't pay your bills Put your kids in shoes Welcome to Heatongrad Where the only person using cars Is those who cannot walk For a wheelchair's an ability Not a chance to stop and gawk Leave the army now, you fools And join the Heaton corps Sign up to Heatongrad And advertising, patronising, sexualising young Tip man's ladder of success and grease up every bum Women, if you need a need a voice with each and every lung Sing along to Heatongrad Sing along to Heatongrad
  19. Man With a Child in His Eyes - Kate Bush
  20. I take it all these UAE players are "mercenaries" rather then home grown talent?
