  1. Quite enjoyed For the Bants and Other Dressing Room Stories.
  2. I don't think it's any coincidence that the performances we have been least effective in, are in games where the teams set up to negate the 3 at the back formation which would normally allow us to have a player "free" at the back. The best example was QPR, not only playing 3 players advanced, but also two very wide to exploit the space behind our wing backs. Neither Atkinson or Vyner were able to move into the opposition half in the same way they had before.
  3. Albert Camus, Doctor of Philosophy and Nobel Prize winner was a goalkeeper who apparently was good enough to play at a higher level, but he contracted TB which forced him to give up sports. It's something that's far more common in other sports, especially those that have their roots in Colleges and Universities. Some interesting football degrees here, if you can navigate your way through the ads. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/footballers-with-degrees-kompany-mata--10-players-who-went-to-university/196q7i1qbyhjs1nl24xafcdc80#cs36f0b6e8bd08be1e
  4. I think if you delved deeper into those figures, you would find that Atkinson is heavily involved in a lot of those moves. He breaks much further into the opposition half than Zak does on the right.
  5. Sorry @phantom it's probably in bad taste, but this is where my mind went.
  6. I can't believe you are turning down a chance to see your beloved Barry Bannan.
  7. Probably difficult to quantify considering the size of the country, it must be nicer in some places than others.
  8. At the risk of passing the buck or getting too political, I don't think it has much to do with football. I think it's very stressed people, under a lot of financial pressure finding an outlet for that stress.
  9. The wheels really came off there didn't they?
  10. The Irish putting on a good show with the bat so far. But great over from Livingstone 2 for 6 at this stage really slowed the momentum.
  11. Funny you should mention cleaning and Fred Wedlock in the same sentence, it gives me an opportunity to tell one of his pieces from his live show. He used to work in advertising and one day was given the chance to come up with a name and a slogan for this super duper new cleaning agent. He wasn't successful but he did come up with one they would never use. He called it "BUGGER", which stood for Best Universal Grit Grime and Effluent Remover. The slogan? If Omo don't brighten it and Daz don't whiten it, BUGGER IT!
  12. Bruce Banner hates being reminded of this incident.
  13. But what day Louie? I have no idea what you are referring to. I know which Bruce, he has been here a few times, but I can't remember anything particular about any of them. Look at the replies, I am not the only one confused, it was clearly a fun day for you but the rest of us are in the dark.
  14. I always feel like I have walked into a room in the middle of a conversation when the OP posts. My only guess is that he has watched/listened to programme or podcast and assumed we all have too?

  16. I assume that Gould will be instrumental in finding his own replacement which should be a good thing. He is bound to know someone not only capable, but that has a similar way of working and shares the vision he was working towards. I think he will look for someone who is perhaps shadowing or a right hand man to another CEO and is looking for a step up. Someone a little younger perhaps.
  17. One of these has to come off sooner or later I guess.
  18. I am only going by the highlights, but I was shocked at the difference in fitness and athleticism between the two teams, I am wondering who Palace had beaten up to that point to be 4th in the table. It looked like a men's FA Cup game between a Prem side and a team from National League South.
  19. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Dirac Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac OM FRS[9] (/dɪˈræk/; 8 August 1902 – 20 October 1984) was an English theoretical physicist who is regarded as one of the most significant physicists of the 20th century.[10] He was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, a professor of physics at Florida State University and the University of Miami, and a 1933 Nobel Prize recipient. I think this is the man that should replace Edward Colston in the City Centre.
