  1. I assumed this was what this thread would be about, he is all over the place. It looks like he came for the ball, never got near it and then was diving in all directions as everything pinballed around him.
  2. I have watched the highlights a few times now and I don't think that"s a penalty from one angle it looks like the defender gets a touch on the ball first. Sending off is clear and I would expect the assessor to really mark the ref down for that. Difficult to see how he could come to any other decision. The miss is so annoying, he does everything right and it looks in until it bounces. I think he would score from there 90% of the time. But overall he was dynamic today, almost Wiemann like and that ball in for the goal is a beauty.
  3. Prince Henry scored Yate's 2nd in a 2 - 3 defeat.
  4. I went to look at the Chippenham result to see how SPH got on but found this worrying report instead. Pablo Martinez: Chippenham Town defender 'stabilised' after collapsing during game - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62536809
  5. DM's used to be something you wore on your feet when I was growing up.
  6. Ah yes the " I spend more than a pensioner" argument. it maybe nothing to do with your upbringing, but does feel like something that comes from an upbringing in a highly capitalist society. Not that you have any idea on how or even if I watched the game today. Nice to know that my nearly 60 years of support are reduced to how much money I have spent.
  7. Seriously? **** me the expectations of this forum get worse by the day
  8. You are the worst kind of "fan". It must be an American thing wanting change every two minutes. Head off back to your baseball or American "Football" or something.
  9. Our players headed off very early yesterday, I assume this is so they could get a long relaxing period at the hotel the other end.
  10. How do you know they are a load of shit if you don't read them? @Jerseybean clearly does a good bit of research to try and match old Hav's work and you are being very disrespectful in calling it shit without cause. If you don't want to read them, fine, it's not like it's a surprise what they are about.
  11. I am disappointed that there won't be any standard coverage of these games, I have enjoyed watching them. I do wonder whether the club feel that learning your trade in front of a handful of people at the HPC is preferable to the youngsters being given a wider audience and opening them to criticism or too much praise at a vulnerable part of their career. There are always those who are quick to write off a kid or demand his inclusion, based on one game.
  12. I did a thread the other day about last Saturday as a general day out, I forgot to mention that the band were very good at what they did. Covers band, picking some good "rabble rousing" tunes including the ubiquitous "Sweet Caroline" but they did it really well and generated plenty of response from the crowd. Good musicians with a charismatic lead singer and guitarist.
  13. And Conway only scored his 2nd goal because he scuffed his shot. Perhaps we should just count scruffy goals as .5 of a goal?
  14. Perfect for the role, one could say. I had nothing against it.....
  15. I'll bet that all this focus on Zak is appreciated by Bents who was nutmegged by a straightforward toe poke.
  16. Obviously splits opinion on here but I will remember him fondly, not just because he made the game looks so ridiculously easy at times, but because his partnership with Matt Smith kept our great season on track when Wilbs and Agard were injured.
  17. I have no idea who any of these teams are, I have never had it on in my house. The only time I have seen it was at my father in laws place. (He has no interest in cricket, but likes the 100). I didn't really watch the game as I couldn't see anything past those God awful graphics. I am afraid this is going to be a big blind spot for me at future pub quizzes...
  18. Presumably, as a 6 off the last ball would have won it for them, that must have been the highest chasing total as well? Terrific day for fans of good batting then.
  19. El Condor Pasa - Simon and Garfunkel (not MOR)
  20. Well the parking is on council property so I am guessing they get something from that. The pitches for the stall have to be rented.. Then there is knock on effect to surrounding reas, hotels, b&bs etc, it's no different to any other event in that respect.
