I guess part of the problem is that there aren't enough referees around for the incompetent ones to be demoted for poor performance. We seem to be left with anyone who fancied a day out on a Saturday afternoon at the moment.

I was worried the referee was going to cost us from quite early on. The first challenge on Sykes was a shocker, deliberately late, studs up and high. You could easily make a case for a red, but the guy wasn't even booked. Sykes continued to get kicked around, until he finally came off. My stream was playing up around the point of the penalty, but from what I have seen, it was like a slow motion version of what Tomlin did in his incident yesterday, laughable. 800+ fans spending good money to travel, players working their socks off to prepare and then produce in the game, all wasted by sheer incompetence.

OK I will start with, the station is walking distance for me and thousands of others in Portishead, I don't know where the station is in Pill, but it's a small place so it's hardly going to be miles away from everybody. The same the other end, it's no easier to get to the waterfront by foot (or even e-scooter) from Temple Meads than it is to drive and park anywhere around there. As far as I know the bus is free to Bristol residents during the day, it's not free to me as a North Somerset resident until I hit SPA. The only thing I agree with is the Ashton Gate stop, especially when the conference centre and housing is built the clamour for it will make it inevitable, probably too late for me personally, but that's life.

I assume you mean Simpson and Downing, if so you couldn't be further from the truth. All the players were disappointed that Simpson never recovered sufficiently to coach as he was working before, and Pearson himself wanted Downing to stay if the finances would have allowed. The biggest issue we had last season was that "Paddy" was the only senior coach for too long, especially when Pearson himself was not well enough to cover the missing personnel.

So what's first? Presumably work on the line itself and then rerouting the road to make room for Portishead station, then the station itself? I think I may have asked this years ago, but will the line have passing spots being a single line in and out? Or will just be one in and one out which will define the frequency?
