  1. Definitely flew in SL's plane and I wouldn't be surprised if he stumped up for the whole trip, I am sure that's been the way it has worked before.
  2. Judging by one of those clips (the one where Bell scores) Vyner looks like he was being used in midfield.
  3. It's testament to the quality of player we have and are waiting to develop from the academy. I don't think it's that long ago that we would have had playing and hoping he will improve, rather than allowing him to go with our blessing. @Davefevs, what will be our approach to this move, would we waive any U23 compo in a trade for a potential sell on percentage?
  4. Not sure if it's just my imagination, but Sam Bell looks to have added something in the clips I have seen. He just looks more "on it" to me.
  5. I can't help wondering why Zafar isn't coming in at 6 at least, he hardly ever fails to add a good few runs. He averages 22 in all FIrst Class cricket and has 100 not out to his name.
  6. You can always trust @Never to the dark side to get to the important points.
  7. Canada 1-0 up in extra time. penalty. Guatemala equalise in the 119 minute. and it goes to pens. Canada lost 4-3 on pens JKL didn't take one.
  8. I have heard better drunken karaoke versions of those songs to be honest, but I guess some people just want to sing for her anyway.
  9. With the camp now in Austria, information is going to be hard to access.
  10. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/jun/26/martin-bengtsson-swedish-football-wonderkid-inter-film-tigers You would like to think things have changed a bit by now, but maybe not.
  11. We will need to do something special, Sunderland fans don't need much encouragement to leave their home town, and they get very excited when they do.
  12. ?"Simply having a wonderful Glasto time" There you go.....
  13. I am not sure what more he could have done to please you. Resurrect John and George and dragged Ringo out of retirement maybe. Played Sgt Pepper from start to finish? I watched it to the end, I am not even his greatest fan, but I was still wide awake and enthused at ten past one in the morning. You weren't, ah well.
  14. Sorry if I am missing the obvious, but why does a new owner give them the ability to spend, spend, spend? Is there something in the transaction that counts towards FFP?
  15. One of my friends has literally just posted this on Facebook and I thought it was apt.
  16. The most poignant too, I can't listen to Slippin the Escort without becoming quite emotional.
  17. I think HMHB said it best of all. https://youtu.be/Gx2SVzWZkAs @Davefevs you have a heart of the hardest steel my friend.
  18. There is no outward signs of panic with the way the club are conducting their business, so I am taking this as a good sign. Richard Gould strikes me as someone who would have a good handle on where we stand.
  19. I thought Macca's set was excellent. I don't get this "should have retired gracefully" stuff, age is just a number in music. I remember an interview with Elvis Costello when he turned 50 and he was asked how much longer he could go on. He said "It's only rock and roll that has an obsession with age, if I was a jazz musician they would be saying, that kid Costello shows promise, he might really do something when he's older" The fact that both he and McCartney are still bringing out new material, when other performers of their age and younger are just trotting out their hits at Butlins, should be celebrated not chastised. Having said that, the Glastonbury audience is a different animal so I do think the set should have reflected the fact the majority will not be following his new output.
