  1. I was surprised to see it was in black and white, we were well into the colour era by then.
  2. Are you saying that Alex Scott should stand up more?
  3. Or, like me after being made redundant and thinking about doing some consultancy for 15 months, you suddenly realise that you have actually retired and are loving it.
  4. Me when I get to the last line of Quordle and still have two words to get.
  5. Well so far that's 2 to 1 against your opinion, shall we put it to a vote?
  6. Surprisingly easy in the end, outclassed the Japanese girls.
  7. Wordle 246 5/6 ?? ?? ?? ?? ????? Got to 4 last night but couldn't see it. Woke this morning and there it was.
  8. That's what Joe Williams had me thinking of today. I am not suggesting that he is anywhere near the quality of "Der Kaiser" but the position he played was a real journey back in time for me. I think we all looked at the teamsheet today and thought "where are the defenders?" Dasilva in a 3? Scott at right back? Etc etc. Even after we kicked off, I was still doubtful, thinking if Williams is in a 3 why is he getting so far up the pitch, has he forgotten where he is supposed to be? But it soon started to fall into place. I am sure some older people on here have seen references to defensive midfielders and thought well that's just what we used to call "a sweeper", or what @Davefevs refers to as a "front sweeper" on another thread, but today Williams showed just how different those two positions are, and I really think it took 'boro almost the whole of the first half to work out what was happening because it's rarely used in that way in the modern game. Hats off to NP and probably Curtis Fleming more so, for the amount of work they must have put in on the training ground to play that formation.
  9. I think Bents made maybe 1 save that was exceptional, the rest would have disappointed us if he hadn't saved them. I don't think we should apologise for having a competent goalkeeper, I believe it's allowed within the rules.
  10. As this is easily his best tally in his career, I don't think you can lay it all at the door of our previous 2 managers. He has more than doubled his career goal tally here in half of the number of appearances, so it's not just this season.
  11. Not sure what he's done wrong, the ball was swung in for the attacker to run onto and it was placed perfectly out of his reach. Who ever allowed Crooks to get the run is more at fault.
  12. I was really impressed with Rob Cundy when came on today, he won 2 aerial challenges, but more to the point he acted like a more senior player out there. He was calling the lines, and encouraging people around him from the minute he walked out.
  13. Just read on the BBC that he asked his Manager of he could get a ticket on Wednesday, The Manager phoned him Thursday and said, "i got you a ticket but you have to fight Clark" !
  14. I was trying to get confirmation of this, but I was sure the League 1 in Ireland is a part time league. If that's right I wonder if Waterford are operating on a full time basis as they were relegated last year?
  15. How did you get the top left in 8? Do you read a lot of Shakespeare or Chaucer or something?
  16. Umm do you wish to rephrase that Tom?
  17. Great performance against the best team in the world though.
  18. Never thought it would go to an extra end at the halfway point. 3 hours has just flown by.
  19. Had to be a blank, keeping the hammer could be key. The Swedes suddenly look a lot less sure of themselves.
  20. Hanging in there like I said, now if we could just put some pressure on with a 2 or 3 in this ninth with the hammer.
  21. It's 1 for us. Sweden might still regret those 2 blank ends.
  22. This 7th end feels really key to me.
