  1. You’d back him to break into that Liverpool team after a couple of seasons as they definitely need a freshening up. Not sure if I see them taking another youngster though, they have Carvalho, Bajetic and Elliot who are all playing in midfield. They really should though, as I think he would bring something different.
  2. With Tinnion’s comments about being ready to move on 3-4 players when the window is open, I would hazard a guess that the Currie lad from Wimbledon is one of them and thus not even a discussion with Dasilva about staying. if so, makes a lot of sense.
  3. You just know all their expensive assets will end up at other owned clubs as well to avoid Forest being in financial trouble, a luxury other clubs don’t have even with parachute payments.
  4. I do wonder if that is because Nige went through a phase of experimenting with Bell up front as the lone striker, which didn’t really work and thus has not been seen again.
  5. I though either full back could be. Tanner was exceptional in both directions second half and set Weimann away for the counter attack if I’m not mistaken.
  6. On that topic though, I was getting frustrated with Bell bringing the ball to a stop and then trying to beat the man. He has so much pace I can’t understand why he brings the ball to a stop and then loses momentum, he would cause his opposition more problems by keeping the ball moving, pushing the ball past them and getting the legs moving!
  7. What an incredible reaction today by the lads. We were absolutely pedestrian in the first 20 minutes and despite slightly improving before the Stoke goal, it was looking to be a case of how many for Stoke after going in at half time 1-0 down. The key difference in this squad to what we have seen under LJ/DH is the ability to produce a reaction. Even during our worst runs under Pearson, I had faith in the squad to react to the situation and always put up a fight. I never felt the same way during the LJ/DH era. NP must take a lot of credit for what he has done to this squad. The emergence of players such as Pring and Tanner, the latter of which I thought epitomised the way Pearson has us playing in that second half, is nothing short of a revelation. At the start of this season, if someone had told you that players such as these two and Vyner were destined for careers in the lower leagues, you would not have disbelieved them. You can see each member of that squad now wants to fight for every point and knows they will have to in order to keep their place in the team, and long may it continue!
  8. Given some of the negative reaction in the first half towards them, I thought the defence were exceptional today. Especially both full backs. Tanner impresses me more each and every game.
  9. If Conway is to come off, I would like to see Mehmeti in the number 10 position for an extra body in midfield.
  10. We look a lot more assured with King than OTC, it must be said.
  11. I don't think he fits the way Pearson wants to play and I don't think we will even see him offered a deal on reduced terms. Considering his rumoured salary there must be better players in L1/L2 who will better fit the bill, such as the Wimbledon lad we were bidding for in Jan.
  12. I agree, but I thought Dasilva was far worse in this regard which doesn't help the situation as it reduces Mehmeti's options. Everytime Anis put JD in down the left he either hit the first man with a cross or failed to do anything substantial with it.
  13. Agreed - I think we are safe with Tommy for another year and I don't think a team will offer the money and take that risk on him yet. However, I think it would be pretty low risk for a top Championship club to come in with decent for money for Pring. It has been good for Taylor-Clarke to play and I hope we give him more of a run out before the end of the season. I don't think he is ready, but the experience is more beneficial to him than Andy King. Bell still seems a bit lightweight to me, and seems to have been found out a bit since his purple patch when he broke into the team. I think Bell may benefit from a L1 loan for half a season like Pring did. As for your last paragraph, unfortunately, that is just not a thing anymore with players. If the PL comes calling, we don't really have anything to offer to keep them. Best to keep reinvesting correctly until we get there. Something which was not done correctly under LJ/MA.
  14. A lot, I said when he left he will be a bigger miss in this season than if Scott has left in Jan as a huge percentage of our goals and chances were coming through him. Especially with Pring at left back, it must have been one of the best left sides in the division in terms of creativity. I think Mehmeti will be a lot better with Pring behind him who will make those overlapping runs and occupy defenders. Anis had multiple defenders on him today but JD offered very little on the overlap and was wasteful.
  15. Did anyone get a good view of the disallowed Nakhi goal? The replay looked like the right back was playing him onside but it was not the best camera angle.
  16. It's quite clear the season is fizzling out. I'm excited to see what 3-4 signings next year can do. We are much weaker without Pring at left back, there were so many gaps down the left that could have been exposed by him overlapping Mehmeti and driving into the box. Unfortunately, JD is not that player. I think Mehmeti was getting frustrated at JD' wastefulness and was just trying to do it himself. Also, midfield considerably weaker without Scott. All in all, not really much to lose sleep over. It's just the point we are at in the season. Pearson happy just to keep the squad ticking over and trying to avoid more injuries.
  17. It did with Semenyo, hoping this will be similar.
  18. I don’t see us offering 15k a week to a player with less than 5 league appearances this season. We have trodden that route too many times before. Although I would love to see Joey back if his wage demands were less.
  19. Agreed, we would likely offer him about a quarter of that?
  20. Have we had many pacier left-hand sides than Bryan playing in front of Pring?
  21. He needs a run of games to see how he will fit into our system, it’s hardly high risk to start him at this point of the season with nothing to play for.
  22. Would I be correct in saying OTC is in a similar mould of player to Korey Smith?
  23. Cant see why people are so baffled by the selections, we have nothing left to play for, so may as well rotate in those forward areas to give everyone a good run.
  24. I think Alex is already good enough to play PL football, and may well be best served going to a top team and being in training with those players. Unfortunately for us in that regard!
  25. We look like we’d be a tasty carbonated drink. Are we commemorating Lilt being discontinued?
