The ironic thing is that the Lansdowns will probably look at the club with the new stadium, training ground, thriving academy, huge cuts, and current 7th position and feel like they're doing a pretty good job and should trust their own judgement on that basis.

And rightly so, too many doom-mongers on here.

I've said this so many times, but there is not a long list of owners out there making perfect managerial appointment after perfect managerial appointment.  Personally I think Derek McInnes and Lee Johnson were good appointments, but realise there are many here who will disagree.  Even Sean O'Driscoll seemed good at the time.  And I think most would agree that Gary Johnson, Steve Cotterill and Nigel Pearson were good appointments.  Other appointments weren't so good, but were arguably worth a punt.  I realise this won't happen, but I'd really like us to drop this myth that all of Steve Lansdown's decisions have been poor.

Bang on, although there were plenty of moaners on here when Cotterill was appointed, (you know who you are)

But look how that ended last time?

These JR proceedings can drag on for years.

Best off to just make a deal to make it go away.

I fully get what you're saying but it doesn't sit easy with me just handing over a million, hopefully the council will ignore them on 28th Sept' and see if they will take the risk with the high costs that come with it in taking it to court

Would we be taking 3400 to plymouth on a night game?...

Yes, if they gave us that many being as we haven't played down there for over ten years we would sell out, i'm not denying their support is good but the 2600 they took to PNE this season will be down to 1300 next season., the novelty soon wears off, interesting that a couple of years ago when they weren't doing so well in the 3rd/4th division their home crowds were down to 7000

But do they? They've only been there for 10 years. Lansdown has owned that land for much longer than that and the plan was always to put houses on that part.

If they have contracts with the council then they are playing a dangerous game trying to halt such a hugely important development for the City.

But the developers should just pay for the roof to make this go away in my opinion.

The situation is what it is now and any delays to the project will see costs rise by more than a cost of a roof so just make a deal for the roof and then get on with the development.

Personally i don't think anyone should give in to them, they want a roof but want someone else to pay for it, sounds like a certain football team north of the river

    Tonight!!!

I’m bullish about tonight’s game.  I’m rarely like this, but think we will click in front of goal tonight.

Hope you're right, Plymouth have adapted well and have been decent in all their games so far, my heart says City but head says Plymouth wont lose

Blige, Bestcars, another blast from the past.  Is it still there?

Important question…what was the video rental place called on Gilda?  Bernco was Asda, what was the original name on Gilda, think it became an Enterprise???  Me and my mates were chatting about it the other day and none of us could remember it’s name.

Norman Hunter had his shop on the Gilda ?

Cards on the table, I know Joe a bit, and spoke to him at length a few years back over a couple of beers. I think he's got a lot more strings to his bow than just "actor". He's a bright bloke who's well-informed on current affairs and politics, and I think he'll do a great job.

Seen him a few times in the Knowle and the Oxford, i get the impression he lives somewhere on the Knowle/Totterdown border as he's often up and down the Wells Road

I’m interested in your reasons and the context of them.

Do you not think presiding over 13 home games without a win is possibly worthy of a sacking or watching some of the utter dross over the last 2 years is possibly worthy of a sacking, were you at Cardiff, Swansea, Reading or Brum last season ? i accept 100% that he took over an utter mess of a team but this is now his team 100%. personally i now back him and it's obvious to see how much we've improved but it doesn't take away the fact that many many clubs (in my opinion) would of sacked him a long time ago. of course it's all about opinions

Yes, it's a personal decision from Barton, not a club one. Feel sorry for the kid having to put up with someone like Barton.

Apparently it was to do with some comments James Piercy made pre-season in an article about Rovers.

Ultimately it just shows what a fragile little princess Joey is*.

Can't take the mildest of criticisms from journalists, punches opposition managers in the back of the head when they're not looking, attacks people with cigars to the eyes, and attacks women when he's pissed up.

    A complete coward.

*that comment is unfair on princesses tbf

But apart from all that........... ?

Just seen this old pic of Ashton Gate This is how it would look now had the Gas nicked it off us in 82

Saying that I'm unsure if they would have put the seating in the East End  yet

Indeed he praised Ashton to the end but not doing so would be to admit he got it wrong. Not something he does.

For similar reasons he can't praise Nigel, Richard Gould and others for clearing up the mess they inherited as that would be to admit he created the mess in the first place.

He doen't need to praise NP, he's stuck with him when any other club would of sacked him on more than one occasion
