He had a decent game, but 65+ mins is a good time to introduce Wells against a tiring defence.
I know I’m posting this after the event, but I thought we were better second half, had started to move the ball around a bit better / quicker (low bar 1st half) and needed fresh legs / sharp movement to hopefully take advantage.
Subs aren’t always reflective of performance, just about getting fresh legs / finishers on in key positions.
Serious question, how do you come to the conclusion that he had a "decent game" i thought they were all miles away from having a decent game bar Dickie, we certainly did improve in the second half particularly when the subs came on.

Two world class finishes by Tommy. I wouldn't start him against Leeds simply because he's just come back from a long injury and we can't afford to lose him. Bring him on fresh early in the second half against tiring defenders. I bet on him to be the highest scorer in the Championship before his injury and I still wouldn't count him out.
Same here, i thought my £10 EW at 66s was dead in the water

We all know we were poor , but only Leicester have beat them at home all season and we all know Leicester are gonna be champions , sometimes you play teams that just don’t suit you or your style - ask joe Joyce about playing someone who don’t suit your style
True, i witnessed truly awful games at Reading, Cardiff, Swansea & Brum' last season where these teams just didn't suit our style of play

Probably more about the location. We have Stadiums in the North and South so makes sense.
But Villa Park is a dump, didn't know they were redeveloping it though, as it stands i would pick Ibrox, Celtic Park, Croke Park, West Ham, Arsenal, Twickenham and the Merorial ground ahead of VP but i do get the geographical element

Will be in England & Ireland after Turkey withdrew. Another chance of lifting a major trophy.
Very surprised that Villa Park has been picked as one of the grounds

Back on track....
It was telling that they had their biggest home crowd of people season last night of 6,075, which followed their previous highest (5,823) at the last home game against Fylde
Something that caught my eye about those fixtures, against Fylde there were only 72 away fans, and at the previous home game against Maidenhead (4,748) only 41 away fans
Fylde to Southend on a Tuesday night !! fair play to the 72

Agreed, and he'll probably do well.
Yet another example of the Sags planning for the future...
Exactly, their average age must be well up in the late 20's and without a home-grown player in the side

Martin is a clever footballer, the question those morons can’t bring themselves to ask is why we let him go & QPR didn’t offer him a longer contract.
Probably because playing in the championship is now beyond him, the likes of Port Vale and Cheltenham is far more up his street

Chelsea did, but they've stopped it this season, so they can buy some more players. Man City have done it. Hull, QPR and Brum did this last season, Hull to every away game after Christmas.
Multiple clubs have done it for the occasional big day out, in the time SL has been here. The only time we have done it under Steve, tbf, and afair, is when we lost 0:5 at Preston and Lee chucked Mags under a bus but you only found out about it the day after getting back from Preston.
We did it away against QPR in October ‘77

Stoke provide free coach travel, to every away game. Imagine that? They've done this for ten years. Imagine that?
I suppose Steve did pay for his whopping great big Steve Lansdown Stand, which he charges anything up to £40 odd quid to sit in, so we shouldn't whinge and moan that he has never laid on any free travel in his time here (afaik), not even up Horfield to the Mem. And why would he? What's in it it for him/us? Free travel to an away game thereby ensuring the opposition a bumper pay day (we could always promise to trash the toilets, Steve, if you would be prepared to pay for us to go by coach to Plymuff, Cov, Stoke, somewhere).
Funnily enough, Stoke's away support was dismal in the Prem, after a few years, when their away form was dismal. They stopped going. So the club decided to do something about it, and years later, they still have people travelling in numbers a division lower when they're still dismal.
Owners that "get" supporters, and football, and can see beyond pounds, shillings and pence.
Fair play to Stoke but 91 other teams in the football pyramid don't provide free coach travel

That was great to hear.
As I’ve said elsewhere, a Pearson version of the West Ham chant (one more year, two more years etc.) for Rice at the next few games would be good!
The last time SL listened to the AG crowd he ended up giving Tomlin a three year contract

Sadly it is a place badly in need of some money being spent.

I think some of peoples views on others will come from comments like yours last night “a centre forward will be judged on goals and Wells only scores every 5.5 games”, which 1) shows a big lack of appreciation for what his role is and 2) poor use of stats, let alone any indication of how he has performed, or what he provides unselfishly for others.
Little things like versus Plymouth - it was Wells dropping in to intercept a square ball that led to Sykes goal.
He won’t get a 1 in the goals tally, but we don’t score that without Wells.
As for stats, if you think about how often he is subbed off, how many times he’s been subbed on, how many games he played left wing / forward, you use a bland stat like 1 in 5.5 you’re gonna undermine your opinion and is gonna seek out people like me and others to disagree with you.
I wouldn't waste so much time and effort on my opinions Dave if i were you

He's looked good so far and has played a lot more than I'm sure he would have expected due to Conway's injury. Pretty sure a lot of people on here who are particularly critical of individuals haven't actually watched the games, and if they have they're clueless...
So you're "pretty sure" that someone that doesn't agree with you haven't watched the games and are clueless if they have ? How arrogant

FWIW I think he’s looked pretty sharp, link up play been good. Might not have got the goals, but his work for the team has been good.
A centre forward is judged on goals and his record for us is pretty poor, something like one in 5.5 games

I'm pretty sure when he announced the team on Tuesday night he said " No. 20, Sam Baldock" or was i hearing things ?

That summed this awful ref up, Bell's face was a picture, he wasn't within 5 yards of them, even the Sky commentators were dumb-founded
