Didn't you have a lad called Tammy on loan, who's goals saved you from relegation?

You’re not wrong, although we also made a permanent signing later that same season of a striker from a lower division club, who also made a massive contribution to us staying up.

  2. Great report as always @Olé

I was stood near you (worked out which one was you) and am amazed by your attention to detail. More so as I expected you to be making copious notes during the game but that’s clearly not what you do.

I too thought the second one had gone straight in. Not always keen to watch the goals again after City away games but definitely looking forward to seeing last night’s again.

I have tried not to be too critical of this man as I know nothing about him, and he may have his own mental health issues, which caused him to behave the way he did on Saturday.

That says a huge amount about the type of person you are sir. Huge respect to you.

Like many I’m lost for words that a grown man could behave like that under ANY circumstances

I'd hope that nobody brings 95 to us in this competition - it's always been a bit tin pot, but totally ruined with the addition of the Under 23's (now Under 21's) from the Prem clubs.  Thin end of the wedge as the Premier League behemoth marches on.

I 100pc agree. I was only posting in jest.

… and don’t forget the Balloon Fiestal you, you, you Shithead.

You’re clearly a gert Ted as you’ve conveniently ignored the Power Boat racing in April

95 to Plymouth in midweek whereas City took just over a thousand to Wycombe in midweek, which is about the same distance. Broadly similar away followings….. as a percentage of home attendances.

No fanbases stand out to me other than Sheff Wed fans. Remember them chanting "who are you" to the Landsdown stand under construction and other chants that made me chuckle.

I remember that, reckon we were 3-0 up at the time. Good set of fans. Always bring a lot and make plenty of noise

My thoughts exactly. I said in the bar after the game, the more the Rovers crowd booed the Shrewsbury tactics, the more those players would have been thinking 'yeah, this is working'

Exactly. Plus surely if your game was really turgid, it would have made concentrating on the updates from the City game a lot easier.

Talking of crowds, in the same division Argyle had 14,600 today, obvious who the only other significant club is in the South West.

    That’s an unfair comparison Graham,

There wasn’t a balloon fiesta in Plymouth a few weeks ago, nor was there cricket on down there a few days ago.

  9. When I lived in Aylesbury I loved. City as much as I do now but didn’t get to the  Gate more than a few times a season. Did Watford and Luton away a few times though. Also did Cambridge, Southend, Gillingham and a few other aways I might not have done if I’d been in Bristol at the time.

Did you ever get to see the Ducks @SecretSam ? They had a framed programme from a cup game at City on the wall in the Buckingham Road bar..

I will be honest i barely heard the “singing section” all game. Thought it was very quiet down there all game considering they are the ones banging on about atmosphere. Might be where i sit but am never impressed by them.

I was in the “singing section” and it felt very loud today. Nearly everyone in there appeared to enjoy the game and really get behind the team. Looked like other areas were giving it a go too, notably the Dolman.

  11. I took last season’s card on Tuesday by mistake. Old ticket was still good for discount etc. Only noticed the problem when trying to get into the ground.
Had to pay 5 pounds for a reprint. Have since cut of last season’s ticket. Getting a replacement issued for a lost season card cost £10 last season

  12. I was there Saturday and would certainly say the atmosphere was ‘lively’ but there was no real threat of violence.

I was surprised at the number of police there. Police and stewards summed to take quite a relaxed approach, as there were quite a few ‘missiles’ going back and forth - I think it was mainly food. The City fan with the flare was hardly discreet, so I can only think he wouldn’t have known what the likely punishment would be, not that I understand how fans smuggle them in, with nearly everyone being patted down on entry.

The closest to any real trouble I saw was one of our fans trying to steam into the Hull fans on his own at full time, but luckily one of his mates seemed to manage to get to him before the police did and carry him out.

We're like 12 league games unbeaten and are now easily one of the very best sides in League One.   If we make the play-offs there's every chance we'll win it but pity is McKenna, Ashton and the new Game Changer Group owners came in too late to address the slide left before them by Marcus Evans, Hurst and Lambert.     Good night.    ?

Great to hear from you Mark. Nice to see you giving credit to McKenna too. No doubt you’ll remain fully supportive of him if things don’t quite go to plan next season
