  1. Seems a risky strategy if West Ham and others are strengthening too. Doesn’t feel like it would need much investment to secure our WSL place for next season. The existing squad has improved no doubt over the last few months but you have to think we need a couple more quality additions or we’ll be in trouble.
  2. Anyone know when the TV matches (and therefore the replay date / time) are confirmed? I’d assume it’s today at some point
  3. Really good point about the 4 quality touches. We’ve had lots of other chances in recent matches where we’ve tried some quick 1 touch moves and if not for 1 heavy pass we would have been in. I’m just pleased we’re trying stuff like this.
  4. I believe it was in use but wasn’t required for any major decisions so you wouldn’t have been aware of it. Have to say it should be all matches or nothing for each competition in my opinion.
  5. Just managed to fix this by logging into my ticket account, selecting my season ticket and then re-downloading the pass to my wallet. Not sure why it didn’t do it automatically tho.
  6. Yep me too. I’ve emailed supporter services but not heard back yet
  7. If they’re selling parking for the 2nd half of the season then that must mean the sporting quarter development is being significantly delayed?
  8. Yep. The idea got short shrift from the Northern Irish football authorities (as did the better known Dublin plans by the Irish FA). The annoying thing reading this stuff is the (predictable) total lack of a mention of the Wimbledon fans by anyone in a government position. There was literally no thought given to them at all. For the politicians it was all about politics and for Sam Hammam it was all about the money.
  9. Not on the red button but I’m guessing it should be on robins tv in the UK as it’s a Friday night?
  10. What could have been with a couple of really good additions in January though. It’s easy to underestimate the feel good factor that a cup run or momentum from promotion can bring (Ipswich, Luton etc). Definitely feels like an opportunity which slipped through our fingers. The problem with us is that we have to wait another decade for the next chance
  11. Didn’t know that, that was pretty brutal of LJ
  12. The Bryan goal is not often shown in full - the lovely chip over the player at the start and then the run is just brilliant, let alone the finish. The noise when that went in was incredible, I can’t remember louder and I was in the east end for Hartlepool. My main feeling watching this back though is just how much I miss Korey Smith , what a player and what a guy.
  13. Bobby is an interesting one. You could see he had technique but he didn’t seem to physically develop for ages which probably delayed his progress. LJ discovered his super power (? by accident) when he moved him up front - he’s one of the best pressers I’ve ever seen.
  14. Really good finish too. So annoying how good Ipswich are !
  15. Going back to Saturday briefly - I went with the family and it was great, thought we were the better team. I was a bit surprised how poorly supported Liverpool are. I’m sure they got less this week as we aren’t a big draw as an away side and I know they only came up to the WSL recently (although isn’t that the same for Man Utd?) but given the potential cross over support from the Men’s side their attendances aren’t great. In fact the same goes for several other teams in the WSL. I wonder if there hasn’t been much integration between the Men’s & Women’s teams in these premier league clubs. Joint PR etc really helps grow the support base.
  16. I love this chart. It needs an update, another 6 years of city superiority to add to it. It would be good to see it combined with league finishes too.
  17. Whilst we are on the topic of kit men I’d like to recommend ‘Marvellous’ if you haven’t already seen it (unfortunately only available on amazon to rent / buy at the moment but it often returns to terrestrial TV). It’s one of my favourite movies of any genre but football fans will love it just that little bit more.
  18. I’m sure you’re right about his decision making but does ‘keeping the ball in the corner’ usually work for eating up time? Im sure if Messi does it he can keep it there for ages but seems to me that ordinary footballers very quickly concede a goal kick which give the other team a chance to pump the ball back down the other end. Yesterday Mehmetti attacked and kept them on the back foot, won a corner too I think? That eats up more time.
  19. This isn’t Ted Lasso, the kit man isn’t choosing the tactics! As other have said what Scotty brings is priceless. All the worries about Bristol Sport and the club losing its Soul, no connection with fans etc etc - Scotty is the epitome of heart, soul and connection with the fans. My kids know him as the guy who beeps his horn when we wave at him in his Bristol City Van when he’s driving around BS3. I remember on twitter years back a Mum was posting about her son taking part in a football team for kids with Down’s Syndrome. Scotty messaged her, said he’d pop down, the next day she puts up photos of him there coaching the kids, making them laugh, giving shirts as gifts. All on his own time and without any publicity from his side. I understand being frustrated with Jon or Steve or whatever but Scotty is a genuine club legend and in an era where we don’t have many left must be protected at all costs!
  20. From now on this is what I’m am calling the Mem
  21. The ‘Come On you reds!’ which rang around the ground when we were seeing out the injury time was the loudest in ages
  22. Going to try and combine this with City Women v Liverpool on the Sunday
