  1. Totally agree, couple of wins and we’ll be fine in the league so a proper cup run would define this season. Plus it’s long overdue
  2. I feel like I’m having a fever dream reading this thread. Don’t think I’ve even thought about Steve Phillips in 20 years! Did any other reserve goalkeepers from the 90s or 80s dislike one of the coaches a bit after they left? If Andy Leaning is a little cross with Russell Osman then maybe I should have a serious rethink about everything I thought was true - maybe the gas are in the Championship with average 20k home crowds, record transfer fees of millions of pounds with a state of the art training ground and a category 2 academy.
  3. @Boston Red already nailed this with the mighty Quinn song surely? Cam on the left, runs down the wing, you ain’t seen nothing like the mighty Pring
  4. Imagine being a fan of a club who’s bogey team is Accrington Stanley
  5. this reads like it was just mentioned in a low level council meeting rather than there has been any progress made. The photo drives home how embarrassing it is that Bristol had a better transport network in the 1960s than it does in the 2020s.
  6. Most people outside of Bristol would assume they were the non league side if you showed them this video. They are so embarrassingly tin pot in every conceivable way.
  7. I also don’t get the “downed tools” logic. The claim is that Semenyo played deliberately worse and therefore risked not being picked for the Ghana so that he would then be well rested in order to play for Ghana?? Makes no sense. Surely he’d be doing everything thing he could to hit some form in time for the biggest moment in his career
  8. Please tell me that Neil Warnock now manages Worksop town
  9. Ah yep that’s the one. Up to 10 years ban, surrendering his passport during international tournaments, all for his 30 second Liam Gallagher impression.
  10. Isn’t it a much longer ban now? There was all that news last year about clamping down on pitch invasions?
  11. So annoying we lost to them that season we could have sent them down on the last day (2018 was it?)
  12. I wondered about that but the BBC said the strikes didn’t start until this morning. Might still be a factor though
  13. Really enjoyed this match last night, England have become such a great team to watch. At times Kirby is like a female Gazza. USA perhaps a little unlucky but it sets the World Cup up nicely, England will have a ton of confidence now. The attendance was very strange though. All the media saying it was a sell out but there were loads of empty seats. Seems a shame as I’m sure people would have come if they could
  14. This is a problem, he’s very important to the way we play, even if he’s not scoring.
  15. This is great, city seem to integrate the teams really well (see also the rivalry for top scorer last season between Weiman and Harrison).
  16. Not just as far back as the 60s either - take a look at the ‘crap 90s football’ Twitter account
  17. Didn’t know this! So it’s a win win for Tommy. Gets to play an international and still keeps his options open.
  18. Fantastic achievement for Tommy. It was funny watching the last video from the training ground with the other players joking about his Scottishness and Pearson (seemingly sincerely) telling him to watch Braveheart on the train up as “that will tell you everything you need to know about being Scottish”
  19. Having a Twitter beef with Shrewsbury Town FC is the most tin pot thing they’ve done (in the last month or so).
  20. Like Lees I was convinced he was going to go with his left. Semenyo is an absolute nightmare for defenders. You can’t show him either way because he’s got 2 great feet. If you stand off he’ll just power past you. We are now seeing that he’s just too good for this level, it’s going to be a nervy day today….
  21. He made my 8 year old son’s list of the greatest players in the world so he must be good (although he did call him Ande Bimn).
  22. So hard to pick because they were all excellent (feels so long since that’s been an issue) but that beautiful pass by Han Noah pips it for me
  23. I’ve just watched the highlights and it does look pretty unlucky to me. The penalty against us is pretty harsh, Bentley didn’t make contact with their player. They didn’t show our penalty shouts so not sure about that. But the equaliser really looks offside
