Vote for Jason Knight for player of Round One
TinMan's left peg replied to Chessels Chick's topic in Football Chat
Can we vote for Roberts? He was even better than Knight -
I'm not very well and I don't know where else to go
TinMan's left peg replied to Porto Red's topic in General Chat
Only just saw this but wow what a lovely thread, well done everyone ?. I generally have a very negative view of the internet and social media but have to admit that this shows it can also be a force for good sometimes. Best wishes to you @Porto Red hope you’re in a better place soon and loads of respect for speaking up and asking for help, that’s true bravery even if it doesn’t feel like it right now -
Care to elaborate?

Albert Adomah - Legend

Love that guy -
What a brilliant article. Hopefully he’ll be England’s number 1 for many years to come.

Or their statement on Brexit after the referendum Or their boasting article about their new tarmac

Tin ******* Pot. Actually that’s insulting to tin pots which are very competent at what they do. No coincidence that the “investment” news broke yesterday as a distraction for this latest shambles
-
Vanarama conference final ? so tin pot just to be in that

When this happens do clubs not sell loads more shirts? I’d much rather have a shirt without some company’s advert all over it

It’s interesting how the way people see the game has evolved. I think this is the main reason why certain more senior members of the crowd around me get very frustrated and continually shout “Forward!” when city are keeping possession and probing for an opening. They just don’t get it

Definitely from last week, totally blue sky. The newer picture with the grass has the cloudier sky from this week.

Is it the Bristol city Twitter account?
-
That wouldn’t seem very clever of Derby seeing as they are still under financial restrictions until the end of the summer (although their embargo has been lifted).
-
Is this what we were doing with Bajic or was he on reasonable wages?
-
I wonder why there isn’t a European competition for 2nd tier teams. Perhaps it’s considered not enough of a money maker although there’s loads of decent sized clubs at our level here and in Europe so I think it would be popular with fans.

Desso pitches have a lifespan of 15 years I think? When was ours installed?
-
Has no club ever repurposed amazing grace as an anthem? Seems an obvious one. oh Ashton gate, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me i once was lost , but now I’m found The reds, Bristol city

So was McKay working for Nantes then? I’d assumed he was more closely associated with Cardiff as his son was playing for them at the time. If he wasn’t employed by Nantes then I can’t see how they are responsible in any way. Either way this is pretty disgusting behaviour from Cardiff. I hope they go down and then bust next season.

But you wouldn’t have known that at the time. Something unseen by the behind the goal camera as in the videos above can rule a goal out. Every action is reviewed by VAR. The doubt in your mind would still be there (for on average 50 seconds)
-
It’s a trade off , in exchange for an 8% increase in correct decisions (statistically of which half will go for you and half against so therefore no net gain) you forgo the split second joy of a goal. I’m glad I didn’t have to wait (on average) 50 seconds after Christian Roberts’ goal against Hartlepool before really knowing it was going to count when it finally appeared on the big screen.
-
That’s an 11 point swing. Seems highly unlikely, all the wrong decisions would have to have been against us and none for us. The Hull match still stings for me too but at least we can properly celebrate a goal when it comes.
-
Good videos which give a good insight into VAR but to me it just illustrates how complex and technical it all has become and ignores the main issue - VAR detracts from the joy of the game. Players and fans can’t properly celebrate a goal because there’s a good chance it’ll get chalked off after 5 minutes of micro analysing the TV footage.
