  1. I’d be happy to see us time waste and run down the clock now. I’d be absolutely gutted to lose this by four or five, we definitely don’t deserve that.
  2. The only thing there is to moan about is that there’s not a snowflakes chance in hell Alex Scott will be our player next season. He looks totally comfortable and at home against the Premier League champions.
  3. Your weird logic means nothing to NP and the players. For the likes of Scott and Bell particularly, this will be the biggest game of their career so far. A real chance for them to play against the best in the country and show what they are capable of. I’d imagine Cardiff is the last thing on their mind right now.
  4. It’s not the priority fixture, we are safely mid table. Nigel and the players will not be thinking like you are. This is an opportunity to get to a stage in the FA cup that we’ve reached once in a HUNDERED YEARS. I’m amazed at the number of people who seem to be almost writing this off as a distraction. If you can’t indulge in nights like tonight when they come along then why support Bristol City at all….
  5. I think you are mistaken. The players will desperately want to prove themselves against the best in the country. For them, there can be no bigger opportunity to show what they can do
  6. Oh come on, really? Imagine the buzz of beating just about the best team in Europe and reaching the quarter finals for the first time since 1974. We’d be all over the media, it would do wonders for the profile of our club and the money we’d make could finance a signing or two. The club would be absolutely buzzing if we pulled this off. I might understand your perspective if we were desperate for points but we are safe and the playoffs are a pipe dream. If a magic fairy offered a win tonight and say a 2-0 defeat on Saturday, I’d snap their hand off in a second. Surely most people would agree?
  7. I’m in a different time zone and city often play whilst I’m asleep. Sometimes during nights when we’re playing, I dream that I check my phone to see our result, but I’m not sure whether it’s the real result or whether I’m dreaming. Thus I check again and again and each time the result is different…Sometimes the opposition changes and the score lines are really odd like 7-3 or something. When I finally do wake up, I’m really confused and sometimes need to remember what division we are even in. Wont be happening tomorrow night as I’m surely staying up for this one!
  8. Wow Oxford are truly terrible. Relegation a real possibility for them.
  9. Pathetic. Sack the board. Sell up Landsdown!
  10. That’s nothing compared to what the blue few have in store: Monday 26th February: Car boot sale Tuesday 27th February; Drive in viewing of home alone. Wednesday 28th February: Free babestation viewing in club lounge. Thursday 1st March: An evening with Rovers hero Dean Windass. Friday 2nd March: Cabbage growing workshop on Memorial Stadium pitch.
  11. You were one of the ones predicting them for a playoff place.
  12. Maybe but then I think that balanced out the early 2000s when we were sharing the third tier with some very strong bankrolled sides such as Wigan, Cardiff, Reading, plus fallen giants like Stoke. I think our 2002-03 team would have won the league more years than not.
  13. A couple of posters on here were tipping them for the playoffs a few weeks ago! ?? I pointed out their negative goal difference and terrible record against the better teams…. They are now 18 points off 6th place having played two games more. Still think they can do it? By the same token, thinking they are going to be relegated is wishful thinking. They probably only need a couple more wins to be safe.
  14. They’ve always hated Coventry and Jimmy Hill for that, but in actual fact, they had nobody to blame but themselves. Their fate was in their own hands that evening but they blew it, handing us the opportunity to survive instead.
  15. No genuine Sunderland fans will be thinking they will wipe the floor with us. They are a humble bunch, massive fanbase but very familiar with disappointment and underachievement. Got a lot of time for them actually.
  16. We aren’t fortunate to be ahead at all. We are ahead because of a fantastic piece of skill and a strong finish from Mehmetti and Atkinson. There’s nothing fortunate about good football. This will be a tough second half. Wigan have pegged us back a couple of times in recent years here, let’s hope they don’t get the opportunity to do it again.
  17. It’s going to be Plymouth and Wednesday automatically, so nothing to say there. For playoffs, I want Barnsley back. Games against them always seem to be entertaining with lots of goals and we (almost) always beat them at Ashton Gate. Wouldn’t mind Bolton, but not keen on Derby, Ipswich or Wycombe. From the Premier League, Southampton and Everton would be great fixtures to look forward to home and away. Bournemouth deserve to go down but if them staying up would benefit us financially via the Semenyo deal then I wouldn’t mind seeing them stay up for another year. That leaves Leeds and West Ham as the only other realistic options… I hate the former but I’m fed up of playing them so let’s have the Hammers!
  18. If that’s the case then it’s definitely worth following his progress, even if he plays for a tin pot outfit that nobody wants in the Premier League. This is such a competitive league and every penny will help us.
  19. Probably means West Brom on Boxing Day. We typically lose games with a large crowd and a big away following. We have a great chance to change that tomorrow.
  20. His favourite party trick is to run over to opposition fans and cup his ears after scoring. Who’s he to talk about such matters ?
  21. Outside of the bottom 3 now by the skin of their teeth. They can’t score for toffee and every team below them has a game in hand. Looking grim!
  22. I love these kind of questions! Here goes! In February 2006, after a 1-0 home defeat to Brentford, we sat 22nd in the League 1 table with 35 points from 32 games. We then won 9, Drew 2 and lost only 1 of our next 12 games to put us in contention for a playoff place with two games to go. We only Drew with Swindon, then lost to champions Southend so we missed out eventually but I think that’s the biggest end of season turnaround I can remember. We also made a mad dash to the playoffs in 1997 after replacing Joe Jordan with John Ward… six straight wins taking us from around 10th-11th to the playoffs.
  23. I felt like this in early September after 13 points from 5 games catapulted us up to fourth and we had that lovely away win at Blackburn, probably our best performance under NP. Then we were garbage for a few months. Will this time be different ?
  24. That depends on whether you can class a few plastic chairs, a tent and a Punch and Judy box as stands?
  25. Am I really reading comparisons with the likes of Graelish and Iniesta and him spearheading an 2023-24 promotion push? Easy guys.
