  1. I’ll never get justice for the two months I spent as a Covid prisoner at the hands of the state here…absolutely smashing them in a major world tournament is the best I’m gonna get, especially when sporting integrity means everything to them here. Nice one ladies!!!
  2. PREMIER LEAGUE Winners: Manchester City Relegated: Sheffield United, Luton Town, Wolves CHAMPIONSHIP Winners: Leicester City Promoted: Southampton Playoffs: Middlesbrough (winners) Ipswich Bristol City Hull Relegated: Rotherham, Cardiff, Birmingham LEAGUE ONE Winners: Barnsley Promoted: Derby County Playoffs: Reading, Bolton (winners), Lincoln, Charlton Relegated: Cambridge, Fleetwood, Stevenage, Oxford LEAGUE TWO Winners: Mansfield Promoted: Stockport, Wrexham Playoffs: Salford (winners) Bradford, Notts County, Gillingham Relegated: Morecambe, Harrogate Promoted from national league: Oldham, Chesterfield
  3. Friendly or not, the scoreline of City 5-1 Swindon rolls off the tongue nicely. Glad to see our two young strikers both get braces. They should be going into the new season with confidence.
  4. Remember when Bobby Reid was tearing the likes of Bath and Torquay up in pre season, then went on to have the year of his life? It can breed confidence sometimes, particularly for strikers.
  5. I predict RELEGATION WITH A RECORD LOW POINTS TOTAL. Sell up Landsdown.
  6. Starting to turn things around….. Wasn’t his last game in charge, that home defeat to Sheff Utd? Ask any veteran City fan to list our worst ever performances and that game would be in the top five.
  7. When Joey Barton retires from football, I can see him going down the far right conspiracy weirdo influencer path in an attempt to stay relevant. In fact I’d bet on it. He won’t want to go quietly.
  8. What’s wrong with wanting our home grown players to succeed at one of the country’s biggest clubs?
  9. IBournemouth ?? I want to see our own Alex play for a genuine big club.
  10. Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was talking about their home capacity. They sold out their home tickets for most of their games last season.
  11. Plymouth’s capacity is woefully inadequate for the sort of demand they will have this season. There don’t seem to be any plans to enlarge the ground either.
  12. To be fair, they were spot on. Just a year too late !
  13. Someone in the know will post the first couple of fixtures very soon. That’s what happens most years.
  14. It seems odd trying to predict our first fixture…. It could be any one of the 23 other league teams, perhaps with the exception of Cardiff.
  15. Man of the match in Ireland’s game against Gibraltar according to my Irish mate.
  16. Wow that’s the first time I’ve seen footage of John Atyeo playing! Nice one!
  17. I might apply, I’m quite a handy person. On a totally unrelated note, can anyone lend me some red gloss paint? Enough to paint a whole stadium.
  18. I would expect Ipswich to spend big and really go for it, to try and capitalize on their momentum. It will be interesting to see how that works out with Ashton pulling the strings. ?
  19. I think you might be right with your last paragraph. I’d expect Millwall to struggle too after their horrific end of season collapse. Psychologically that will be huge. Both will be bottom third imho. I think it’s a bit unfair to say that Coventry finished sixth after 46 games just because of momentum and luck though. Mark Robins is clearly an excellent manager and they have a really talented player in that Gyokeres. You may not call all the loan signings shrewd management but if just one of those penalty kicks had gone slightly differently, it would have taken them to the Premier League and everybody would be talking about how we need to be emulating them.
  20. For the first time in a few years, I’m confident we won’t struggle. That’s about as optimistic I can be at the moment until the transfer window shuts. It’s not only about our business, but also our competitors. We’re up against some genuinely huge clubs with massive budgets. If we’re going to compete with them, it’s going to need the sort of shrewd recruitment and management that the likes of Luton and Coventry have displayed. As these teams have shown, it’s definitely possible!
