Top with a game in hand. Draw next weekend would now be a much better result for us than MK.

City win the game and our two most creative players are fresh for next week. Great management Cotts.

IF we hang-on for the 3pts today then hats-off to Cotts, but still think it was a poor move to rest/drop both Freeman & JET today. If they needed resting it should have been against Gills when we didn't need to win...
He may not originally have intended to rest them today but felt he had to once he saw their condition this morning. We're winning the game and they will be fresh for the big one next Saturday, so assuming we hold on for the win, that's proved to be the correct decision.

For me, Cotts has one eye on the MK Dons match, which is, of course, a much tougher game than this one (on paper at least). As one of our most energetic players, Freeman needs a rest. Despite being given MOM against Gillingham, I felt he's looked a lot better. There's enough in today's team to win the game. Bring the young lad back for MK Dons and he'll be flying.
Completely agree. It's just sensible, pragmatic management - and he still has the option to use him if things aren't going well.
-
Chill out everyone. Cotts will have his reasons for not playing Jet or Freeman today - likely they need a break - but he still has the option to bring them on if it's not working.
-
And a game in hand too. Big opportunity today to nudge ahead of the pack.3 points clear of the pikeys up the M4 if we win today, no further incentive required!

Huge game today. A win today and a win at MK next week and suddenly we could be five points clear of our rivals with a game in hand.
Just hope our cup exploits haven't taken their toll.
-
West Ham will start as favourites however this has been a weekend of shock's so far in the F.A. cup so you never knowKnowing our luck though I think the most likely outcome is a draw and a replay which maybe on Wednesday 4th February[as we play Fleetwood on the 1st] just 3 days before the massive league game at F.C. franchise on the 7th.
This is a good point. A draw and a replay could be the worst result because that game at MK Dons is huge.
-
Big occasion for the club. There will be 8m people watching so I hope we make a lot of noise and impress a lot of people. We're in the shop window and we have 27k seats to fill. Good opportunity to encourage a few more down the gate.
-
Not a good stat really. Need to take our chances when they come
10 goals in our last 4 matches suggest we're finding our scoring boots again.
-
Hope the players haven't been distracted by all the cup talk as it appears we have been on this forum...barely a mention of this game on here all week.
Tough one today. One one defeat away suggests Notts C are well set up to get results on the road. Expecting three points, but not expecting an easy win. Would love to be proved wrong.

Not there the last time I checked.
Try again!

Any idea if the goals are being shown on sky/local news or on you tube?
Just a thought but maybe check YouTube?

What date is the final, I am going to a wedding at the end of March and would have to cry off sick if it clashes.
You could have typed "jpt final 2015" into google quicker than it took you to write that...

Symons is booking Smith train tickets back to London as we speak.
-
If Smith goes on like this he's going to be recalled from his loan and put straight into Fulham's first team.
-
So the postmortem has started while the game is still in progress I see.
-
Completely agree, almost like we have a right to turn teams over!, take a 0-1.
It's just a prediction. No more bemusing to predict 0-4 than it is 0-1. Especially when it's bottom v top, and a leaky defence against a potent attack.
-
Always bemused when fans predict 0-4 victories. Going to be way closer than that!
The only bemusing thing is how you apparently know in advance that the match will be close.
-
An away performance in the Peterborough mould would see us win comfortably. Hoping that's what we get.
-
A win, a clean sheet and plenty of rivals losing.
A contented Saturday night for all of us.
-
Nailed it. Because we're top it feels like people assume whenever it doesn't go our way it's because of something we've done wrong, rather than something the opposition have done right.I think some people disrespectfully forget that there are 2 teams playing in these games.
and what happened to the experts guaranteed win once Jet came on?.
-
Strikes me from some of the comments on here tonight that there are increasingly unrealistic expectations that we should win every game now.

Always reassured when the opposition have to fall back on the old "good record at your place" argument....results from 5-6 years ago with a completely different squad on both sides are of no relevance whatsoever. It's all about the here and now...City to win 3-0.Good record at your place 3 wins 2 draws I believe - if this was at valley parade we would probably lose but we are excellent away from home and would expect us to continue tonight

Of course we do, but I'd take a point now if offered. Keeps us ahead of them and still have the game in hand.
