Yes we aren't good enough to go up, but if we did manage it even if we only stay up for one season. look at the parachute payments the club will get. This gives us another chance of getting into the Prem again and possibly staying there,  just like Burnley have.

At the moment though I don't think our performances have been consistent enough to give me confidence that we'll make the playoffs. But it's irrelevant what I think - do you think our performances since Christmas deserve promotion?

Regardless though, there's certainly no guarantee of going back up with the Parachute payments - depends on how it's re-investment.

A Barnsley team fighting for their lives...whose barometer are you using to say it is unacceptable?

Maybe the wrong choice of words to describe the frustration that when a team that have played so promosingly in the early season put themselves in a position where promotion is a possibility then come up against a team struggling we can't play well or beat them (unlike Cardiff against Burton today). I guess if teams are good enough to go up they need to put in a more positive performance against those struggling and it certainly didn't sound good today.

Papering over the craps I'm afraid .

    This team is badly misfiring.

Got to agree with you. A draw or a win today cannot hide how inconsistent and at the poor end of the scale this team are at present. We will get better but I don't know what it'll take to do that - although I do believe LJ and co are the right people to do it.

We aren't good enough to go up based in this form though and don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Hard to remember a more dominant & self assured first 45 minutes. Even at 3-0 up last week it was hardly like we played that well but this week we’ve had very little to worry about & everything has been very well controlled in my opinion.

Very good point. We certainly look more focused today. We've just got to keep it up in the second half and hopefully Heckingbottom won't have regrouped that lot at half time.

Correct, but it doesn't matter if your 4th in the league or rock bottom you have to beat teams like this at home

True - but tonights result isnt as bad as it could have been or the end of our season either, so we move on (plus I was hoping my words might go some way to appeasing any Otib rage. To late for some in Sweden though!

******* pathetic. Odd how we can perform when the tv cameras are on, but so inept since.

Manager and players can **** off. No passion, expensive load of flops led by a clown with no clue.

Lansdown a mug yet again, and us supporters paying the price.

Tongue in cheek, but I wonder if it has something to do with the players knowing a good performance from them in front of the cameras, might get them offers from elsewhere (obviously not being serious) :whistle2:

Like Hudson once said - 'how do I get outta this chicken shit outfit'?

Johnson's position has been untenable for months...I fear that one bad result will make no difference...I'm expecting him to be here next season come what may. Already renewed...but I can't see me wasting many afternoons watching the tosh LJ will be serving up.

I think you're right. Landsown, by continuously backing Lee, has dug himself a huge whole with this one. Sacking him now with so few games left, giving a new manager very little time will be too little too late.

  8. One of the saddest things about this mess is that when LJ does eventually go, as the managerial merry go round continues (whether we go down or not), how will SL and club win a large percentage of the fans back.  If Otib is a reliable cross section of views of the whole fan base, then this club has a lot of work to do - which will only be harder to achieve if we do go down.  And even if LJ turns this mess around and starts to win games again - will it even make a difference to the fans that want him gone? It seems the damage is to far gone to be fixed by LJ.

I admired SL's determination to break the mold of constantly changing the manager when things go badly, but i really cant see how this is going to get any better - clearly the last few months have proved that this team under its current management/Tactics etc etc is only heading in one direction and the bit that confuses me the most is despite what is becoming more obvious with each game, SL is sticking with Lee but then makes statements that he will not allow us to go down.  You'd like to believe that if he had made changes in December/January time, all of this could have been avoided - but as is football, nothing is guaranteed i suppose.

As each game passes though, we are becoming more and more reliant on other results to go our way to save our Championship status rather than being the makers of our own destiny to fight to stay up.

I really dont know where this goes from here as clearly SL is continuing to back LJ for the foreseeable.
