Please do not spin this as anything other than what it is another poor performance against an incredibly poor side, it took 2 goals against us before we upped our game from a painfully slow, obvious and stuttering performance to actually put some real effort in and moving at pace.
We only started to create after we conceded 2 goals, the languid, slow almost negative style does not suit us, we are clearly better moving at pace.
Paterson scoring means he will now be undroppable for the next 20 or so games, the free kick near the end is more of an indication of his form.
As far as LJ is concerned if he says in his post match interview that Bolton are good side he is ******* liar and 21 points from the last 24 league games no wins in our last 6 is his recent record and he needs to improve.
We created sweet FA until we conceded 2, our final ball, crossing, corners, free kicks and even long balls were woeful all afternoon, we lack creativity in midfield.
Understand some of the sentiment but a little harsh. 16 attempts on goal and they didn’t all come at 0-2.
We don’t look lacking creatively for me, we look lacking in someone who can finish them off (enter Diedhiou).
All in all not going to grumble about a 2-2 after going 2 down. It’s a good result whatever way it’s spun and we’re still unbeaten.

You need to ask yourself if you believe we have improved on last season
Sounds like same old same old to me
Did you watch? Guessing not if you rubbished my post as we actually played some very good football.
Always makes me wonder how people form such strong opinions based on radio and text.

Plenty more positives than negatives from that for me.
On to Boro.

Haha just lovely, embarrassing how carried away people get when the game's still in play.

Hard to be overly critical of our lack of end product when we are, unjustly, without our main man up front. With the quality of Eliasson's delivery, I think this side will look very different when Fam's back. Can't come soon enough.
I hate us losing but IMO there are definite improvements in the way we play vs last season.

Sorry but never a penalty - complete dive
Yes the defender has put a leg out but Eliasson has dived right over it - was looking for the pen
In real time it looked a dive...on the replay, definite dive
Fair shout. Haven’t got a good view, was mainly going off the commentators reaction about how it was a blatant pen, so assumed he’d seen better footage!

Unreal. World’s most stonewall penalty turned down and 5 mins later it’s 0-2. Even the Bolton commentator couldn’t believe Eliasson was booked.

Dasilva injured according to RB
Well that’s a good start. Though already proves why we needed him in. If we didn’t get one in and it was Kelly injured we’d have no one in the senior squad who could play LB.

Pato hat trick inbound (we can dream!)

Still much prefer my team to have Korey in it. I simply do not believe our team is better without him.
Tough one for me. Seems Marlon is operating much deeper this season and if you swap out Brownhill for Smith we have no creativity at all. Thought Brownhill was excellent with the ball at his feet on Sat. But also agree that our best side has Smith in it.
The joys of a 2 man midfield I guess. Wish we’d abandon 442 frankly.

Kelly. Dasilva not even on bench. Guessing not quite match fit. Same team as sat except Kelly for Bryan
-
3-1 City. COYR.

A decent point against a team with considerable more talent in their ranks than us.
For all their technical superiority they were pretty toothless.

Harsh on Flint, he wasnt a bad player, but he definitely had mistakes in him that people would overlook because he was a cult hero
An average defender and a great goal scorer. Will miss him more in the opponents box than our own imo.

Reasonable half. Faded after a bright start but Maenpaa has had nothing to do.
Diedhiou can’t come back soon enough however.

Congratulations Hav and COYR!

When you think about it, it’s actually crazy how much impact the next two rounds of fixtures could make.
Best case
6) City 68
7) Boro 66
8) Millwall 66
9) Sheff 66
2 points clear going into last 3
Worst case :
6) Boro 72
7) Millwall 71
8) City 62
9) Sheff 62
And mathematically over

Any chance of putting Man City v Liverpool on the screens?
Why bother. It’s hardly like anyone’s going to let a 3 goal half time lead slip is it?

Bloody hell @BRISTOL86 you’re making me hopeful again!
Well where does negativity get you, at the end of the day?
People acting like it’s all done and dusted when there’s 15 points to play for.
It may be unlikely, but it’s amazing how quickly things can change from one extreme to another (don’t we just know it....)
3 points for us and zero for Boro and Millwall and it looks very different to if we get 0 and Boro and Millwall get 3!

Bolton Wanderers v Bristol City Match Day 2

So no, you didn’t watch.
Newsflash - pretty much every team will concede goals in this league. Many of them will be soft. Stoke, WBA and Boro have all conceded soft goals already this season. They’re all considerably better than us.
We’re two games in after a considerable squad upheaval. If you’d watched the game you’d know there areactually a lot of positives to take. Several players look sharper than last season and the new lads all look like offering something good.
If Diedhiou had been on that pitch he’d have had a field day.
