    Max did nothing wrong.

he didnt say max did anything wrong.

it was Masi breaching an FIA rule, either all lapped cars get to unlap themselves or none.

not "only the lapped cars between 1st and 2nd place, then we restart"

take off your anti-Lewis/anti-Merc glasses for half a second and at least be ******* honest.

You've just made things up that I haven't said. The News want to sell headlines and by making out in came near to deaths it certainly does sell and grab people's attention.

I didn't say that the actions of a minority wasn't disgraceful, but I get the sense the News and the journalists just love this - another way to put down those god awful English football fans.

You also mention the Scum, Daily Heil. I assume you mean The Sun and Daily Mail - Both I also ignore. :)

So are you saying Louise Casey's 129 page report was a lie, or that the Guardian were lying about what was in it when they were quoting from it?

Why are you suggesting journalists wanted Italy to win?

Our squad’s value has dropped off a cliff.

If any of them were to be sold, I think our the highest fee we’d get would be for Kalas.  Problem is, he’s sat with an asset value of £3m in January, so we have to sell him for a fair chunk to have just to re-invest.  What might we get £5m, £6m at most if the right club came in.  And to be honest, controversial as it might sound, freeing up c£25k p.w. is not to be sniffed at.

Whilst I like Bentley, I’m sure from a scouting perspective you’d be highlighting command of his area, poor decision making with the ball in hand or at feet, starting position when ball is up the pitch is too deep.  I don’t think you’d get much more than we paid for him (£2-3m).

If Massengo was to be sold, any chance of a sizeable fee is based on potential…which is fair enough.  I think he will go on to very good things, chances are it won’t be with us. We’d be in a better position if we could get his contract extended first.

    Beyond that I’m struggling.

Any thoughts on Fisher at MK Dons Dave?

Think he's got potential as a decent goalkeeper, could be an area we 'trade'.

23 now, so room to improve still. And if they fail to go up probably won't have too high of a fee.

Shouldn't have been played at Bradford, they already had their home game and didn't manage to win, FA should have covered all Bradford's costs and the only question was whether you play at Exeter or a neutral venue

    Covering costs was another option.

Exeter didn't manage it in their home game (during the 90 anyway) which is the same as what Bradford had.

It`s worth noting that Exeter let the Bradford fans who did turn up (about 80) in for nothing and also are donating all the profits from the game to the Exeter foodbank.

I'd also disagree with the statement earlier in the thread about Exeter being lucky not to get thrown out.

It was an error by the refereeing team that told them it was allowed.

But after realising the error they refused to allow Bradford the same.

Imo a replay was fair, but should have been at Bradford, although what the ref should have done (again, imo) was allow Bradford to make an equal change, then when writing their report acknowledge they made the error and state they allowed the Bradford one too in order to counteract the advantage their error had given to Exeter.

Whatever the outcome the ref was going to get a reprimand in some way, might as well be wrong on the subs twice so that both sides make an equal amount and hold your hands up about it.

Bears and City “funding” is completely separate, although both companies form part of Pula Sport…which SL owns.

SL can put as much money as he likes into Bristol City, but unfortunately FFP means it’s pointless, because FFP says he can only cover losses not inject money - this is to stop an owner buying their way to success.  A Champ club is allowed to make losses of £15m over a normal 3 year cycle (let’s ignore covid for now) without an owner offering to support (Ave. £5m p.a).  If an owner offers to underwrite losses, then those increase to £39m of losses (Ave. £13m p.a).  There are a few costs that are allowed to be left out of FFP, e.g. Academy and Ladies football.

The losses over the last few years get complicated  by covid.

So that’s part one.  Do you want to get into City’s position?

Let's sign Sancho to be a long term academy coach, 200k p/w.

And then offer him £500 to play for the first team too ;)

Quite a statement by Wycombe to go to Plymouth and stick 3 past them.  Is the gap between the Champ and L1 getting that bad that it’s nearly the same yo-yo teams coming up?

been going that way for a few years. Rotherham, Wigan, Barnsley, Ipswich etc

Worrying thing for Red Bull is Lewis didn’t even use the engine he won in Brazil with.

The impact of that engine is being overstated though.

Hamilton wasn't the fastest in the speed traps at Brazil, and the speed difference that people kept going on about was 1) exaggerated, and 2) only on some laps where he had DRS, as well as 3) existing for literally every other driver when they had DRS.

Another part of it was you could see Hamilton changing his lines through the final few corners to get the best possible exit onto the main straight which also adds to it. 2 cars enter a straight at the same speed and same engine, the one with the better traction will be going faster at the end of it.

Now add in that the Mercedes is designed for higher top speed and the Red Bull for cornering speed (simplification, but that's the essence of it) and all the factors add up.

There was more to it than just "new engine goes zoom".

Didn't we nearly score from one today?!

Pretty sure we scored from a corner a few games ago, the corner won from one of these throws.

Now of course that doesn't make the throw itself great, but it played it's own part in the goal.

  10. So Hamilton on pole, Verstappen and then Bottas, but Perez down in 11th to start.

Seen some things saying it's hard to follow at Losail, and potentially could even become a 3 stop (although think thats unlikely).

Drivers happy when they have clean air though, so might be a rare occasion this season where the overcut is stronger than the undercut, depends how quickly and how far they get from the rest of the grid.

Yep, not someone I admire, it was boring seeing one of the best drivers in the best car leading processions, he wasn’t keen when Rosberg was his team mate and now has to fight for his position as WC, something the sport has been missing a long time.

I’ve never denied his ability, although this season he’s had his fair share of luck to still be in the game this season - the red flag earlier this season, Verstappens blowout, Bottas taking Verstappen out ( yes, I know, totally without malice or intent) and a meaningless 5 second penalty at Silverstone - that doesn’t detract from his achievements or ability, I’ve just never been a fan.

    10 second penalty at Silverstone.

And Verstappen has had more than his share of luck as well.

Very fortunate not to get penalties on several occasions this season.
