I actually think Marinovic gets a bad press, as it seemed frankly bizarre to me that LJ threw him in against Ipswich (on a night when it was blowing a Gale) when he had barely been in the country a week & hadn’t played a game in ages. He made an error virtually from the kick off but was bailed out by Lloyd Kelly & actually made a decent save in the second half.

Lucic had a shit attitude (Tinnion said so) & so I’m not surprised his career has gone nowhere.

Geifer seemed to have injury issues & was another bizarre LJ addition.

Parish has had a remarkable career, been released after 1 year by virtually every club he’s been at, yet made a living as a back up keeper.

    Geifer had some pedigree IIRC

Was a case of if he was past his injury issues we would have got a very good goalkeeper on the cheap.

No I just listened to the interview in the end like everyone else.   Sorry to disappoint you.

You're taking a first hand source as fact, well done.

That makes a change for you!

22 pages in... rather than reading every comment does anyone have any details whether this rumour is bullsh*t or not or do we have to wait another 30mins?

I'm sure you'll have a conspiracy either way

They have 12 goals between them in a combined 34 games. A combined over 3000 minutes. A whopping goal every 250 minutes(weimann 1 every 218 minutes and Martin 1 every 296). So are we saying that is good enough?

Our forwards are absolutely shambolic. The ball regularly doesn’t stick to either of them near enough and our defence under constant pressure because of it. Midfield and defence constantly looking up and seeing no movement doesn’t really breed confidence. The entire team could be better but until we give the back 4 and keeper some hope up top our problems will continue

Weimanns numbers aren't far off a goal every 2nd game in pure minutes, that's plenty good enough.

Even Martins are a 1 in 3 using your numbers, thats 15 a season and 20+ a season for the two, on you numbers.

That's not bad at all, but if we're conceding so many it doesn't matter if you have Abraham and Kodjia up front, we won't get the points until we keep the ball out our own net.

This season is going to be a struggle and going to be about picking up enough points to stay out of trouble.

I do honestly think that the absence of Williams and Semenyo and the fact that Massengo is perhaps not yet ready to start again is hurting us a great deal and getting those three players back will make a difference. I also wonder if Conway is going to be another option up-front once fit. Those four players plus Baker's return will make us better than we are now.

It's easy to say we should ship out x or y but I think it's a massive misunderstanding of where the market is. I don't think Vyner, Bakinson, O'Dowda, Palmer, Wells or Martin are being sold for cash fees in January and letting them go on a free means we need to replace them for free too, which may not be realistic.

What I would try and do in January - if any budget exists at all- is see if we can get a holding midfielder and maybe a winger with pace, perhaps on loan or a free. It might be we don't get the best players in the world but it might give us a bit of structure and more options in the squad.

Feel like for us to bring in a centre mid in January we will need to move 2 on.

Considering we have quite a small squad, we're actually bloated in that position.

Massengo, James, King, Bakinson, Palmer, Scott and Williams can all play there (admittedly Scott and Palmer suited in different roles more).

But convincing a CM to join when there's already 7 players who can go in that place won't be easy.

    That's before considering a central O'Dowda too.

How bad is it that we are relying on others having points deducted now !!

Though it will be interesting to see how accurate this story turns out to be

    We aren't.

We're on the same points as reading already, 10 points clear of Hull in the relegation zone and even without their deduction Derby would be below us.

I am not pro discrimination. In fact quite the opposite. I don't like it when the most suitable candidate for any position is discriminated against because they do not belong to a particular cultural, ethnic or gender group. My son is applying for 1 year placement for his year in industry and was told by his advisor (who incidentally is female and from India) " with large public organisations, because you come from a white middle class background you will be at the bottom of the list and as such you should concentrate on medium and small privately owned businesses."

    Howz that for discrimination?

But as there was absolutely no suggestion of people being put forward for Jeff's job because of their ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender, any comments suggesting such or the like are utterly pointless, and just reveal the prejudices of the posters making them.

Seems you get comments even when you don't say anything.

Guess what people have different opinions. It is OK to disagree, oh but I forget the woke brigade not only want to tell us what to say but also what to think. And of course they are ALWAYS right.

    You did say something though.

You made a thinly veiled slight at those who aren't pro discrimination.

Their forum doesn’t make pleasant reading…

Apparently they were the best team between the boxes last night… it hasn’t gone down well.

Does any forum read well after a 3-0 defeat?

Especially when that is following a 5-1 loss.

They were a team outside the playoffs when he took over.

Now they're a team in the playoffs and still in touch with autos at this stage of the season.

That said, we were in that position when he managed here a couple of times, and it's where he gets them in May that matters.
