  1. I read that on gaschat also and was struggling a bit: 51%/49% what? fans? - This is just a gaslogic number plucked out of thin air isn't it? it has no basis in fact or reality! Average Attendances that year (2001) City 10,369 - Fewers 7,275 so actually 58.8% to 41.2% Its not the chasm it is now but not really that close to 51/49 and a lot closer to 60/40
  2. Let me brighten it some more by easing some of the worry they might get a spawny miracle.... I took a look at https://footystats.org/clubs/bristol-rovers-fc-244 While they are not yet 100% confirmed as relegated, and they have a "mathematical chance" (or in gas-logic an 8/5ths chance ?) of staying up, the last time the gas won 3 games in a row (which is the absolute minimum they now need) was Dec 2019. These were the last 3 games of Coughlan's management, before he jumped ship to a bigger/better club in Mansfield Town, who were in the division below at the time. Two of the teams they have to play in their next three games, Portsmouth and Blackpool, are involved in a desperately close fight for play-off places, with 3 pts separating four teams including the aforementioned pair. I doubt somehow either will lie down and let everyone's favourite second team take the points. Wigan, the only team they can possibly catch, have hit good form winning their last four games, and they have Swindon to play the final game of the season.
  3. There are some gems. James: EIEIEIO up the football league we go. Daniel Sheppard: Going to be boring winning every game this season. Another great signing. Real intent this year. Jay Bear Jones: So three signing in three days all quality players, what has happened to rag bag Rovers? Dave Pike: Don’t know too much about this guy but he’s a winger and I know we need a few of them so... Caz: Promotion 2021, scream it at the top of your lungs baby.
  4. This aged well https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/announce-promotion-bristol-rovers-fans-4351482
  5. If swindon do hold on to get points, or a point, tonight - you can bet pompey will be looking to bounce back saturday
  6. I hope you retorted that you would bow to his superior first-hand knowledge of life outside the football league!
  7. Wycombe's lawyers are on standby!
  8. I didn't see upson with a cigar in that clip ?
  9. WTAF? Is this utter nonsense supposed to be 100% unique to our situation? I would imagine taking the best 5 game run of ANY mid table team and replacing it with "season average form ignoring that run" would put every one of them into relegation trouble regardless of what league they were in, and it probably applies to any league in the world. Mid table teams are very often inconsistent, the fact is we had a good start and got better results than most other teams in Septmeber / October. This saggies whole hypothesis seems to be based around the fact he's not envious but the entire post seems to read like
  10. Le us not forget the same company that is harping on about brand protection now was responsible for the whiteboard at the centre of this atrocity I hope Blackburn Rovers take them to the cleaners with the BRFC thing
  11. Yes unfortunately they are limited, as shortly after these were "designed", the artist ate the crayons.
  12. I was going to ask who is next under Barton 4017654's bus ? Seems like the ref will follow their captain and former managers under it tonight
  13. That's not just throwing him under the bus, that is then loading it up and hopping in the driver seat to drive over him repeatedly! One would suggest that the player in question is likely to be sold* come the summer and has probably (luckily for him) played his last game for them. *I doubt very much there will be a fee involved for a player deemed not good enough for them though.
  14. The words that stand out for me here are "DELAY" "SENSIBLE" "STATEMENT" How very apt!! - They have been delaying sensible statements on building a stadium since 1965. When talking of a stadium everyone involved at that hopelessly needy club seems to prefer to spout crap - actually even in this report the directors couldn't help themselves from resorting to ridiculous hyperbole - "They have bold ideas for developing the stadium as the biggest sports centre in the south west", "I feel sure we could get the backing of some top business people in the area - this thing could mushroom straight away" The common thread in all of their stadium plans for the last 55 years seems to be that "someone else pays" - the reason that "someone else pays" is because they are broke, the reason they are broke is mainly because their fans cant be arsed to turn up. They are far from the most loyal, special fans in the country/world/universe unless you count the level of North Korean like fanta - sy. Still the fruit market is nearly ready right? Since its opening in late 2021 they must be doing final fit and finish stuff? Anyone got pictures or drone Footage like the Brentford fans had?
  15. Interesting to see the total lifetime aggregate attendance figures between http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/brir.htm - 19,682,341 <- Fewers and http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/bric.htm - 31,006,882 <- City Their average seasonal aggregate over the last 5 years is around 207K fans - if we stopped attending it would take them 54 (FIFTY FOUR!) seasons to catch up You can really see why they think they are our equals in fanbase terms,
  16. Anyone else have the feeling he actually "baits" players (and keepers) when closing them down? To me it feels like when closing down a player he leaves a bit of pace "in reserve" for a final burst. The Swansea keeper today I think got caught out by this as he pretty half turned away from Semenyo so couldn't see him accelerate.
  17. No question - Ben Garner! Apart from the stunning run of "form", by most accounts he rebuilt their squad with utter dross. Tisdale could not recover from it, and here's hoping that Jailbird Joey does not either.
  18. Dear Joey convict 6721098, about this... Bristol rovers fans like to lie about their attendances (especially away), getting a stadium built, their owner's financial worth, how many they took to Wembley, how many fans are locked out of matches, non-league being called division 5 and not sniffing their sister's undewear. Here's a handy graph to explain which club is really biggest in the West Country
  19. I think it is as follows (so worse than Tisdale) P18 W2 D5 L11 interestingly the time between his appointment and 2020 lockdown covered 18 games. In saying that he had a couple of games during that period of compassionate leave where I guess he could say he technically was not in charge. data this time from https://www.transfermarkt.us/ben-garner/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/33915/plus/1?saison_id=2019&verein_id=2455&liga=&wettbewerb_id=&trainer_id=
  20. That's not precisely true - Tisdale's record at the Gas is truly shocking, and getting hillariously worse with each week it seems, but he has a way to go to dethrone "The King" Ben Garner P33 W6 D8 L19 Win % - 18.18 Paul Tisdale P18 W5 D2 L11 Win % - 27.8 data sourced from wikipedia which ofc may not be the best source, I think it includes cup games too.
  21. I have every confidence in the splendid job he is doing currently!
  22. Won't somebody think of the horses?
  23. Wycombe's lawyers are on standby!
  24. This gem on gas chat... Taylor giving the ref sh**e! Wants to remember what team gave him his chance of a move to the Championship. ******* snake! Firstly it was probably down to his talent and skill he got the chance. Secondly I don't recall the gas "giving him the chance", as far as I recall they tried everything they possibly could to keep him on the cheap. Thankfully due to the not so "super secret buyout clause" and our management they ended up with their trousers round their ankles looking like fools, while the rest of the football world looked on and laughed at them for losing their most valuable asset for a pittance to their fiercest rivals.
