  1. The gates to watch our U23's are probably more comparable to their home gates too. Possibly the source of their over inflated view of themselves as fans if they compare themselves to our U23 team? ?
  2. So "a top team" = 10th place Blackpool, who are a mere 27 points behind the league one leaders - BTW In our division QPR languishing down in 18th place are that far behind the leaders. Some facts on that U23 game based on twitter: Taylor and Palmer played only the first 60 minutes The Smith he refers to is actually Harvey Smith (not Korey) so is not a regular first team player as implied O'leary is our 3rd choice keeper and normally plays those fixtures That was the first game our U23's lost at home since October Just for a bit of balance the Forest team actually included: João Carvalho who cost Forest £13M Judilson Tuncará Gomes, who is on loan from Monaco - (his last full transfer was €10M!) Molla wague who has played 30 times for Mali Karim Ansarifarad who has played 73 times for Iran Its nice that the gashead concerned takes such a keen interest in our development side - However we all know these are players that cannot currently tie down a starting place in our first 11 and we all also know the gas would be creaming themselves if they signed any one of those players. To me it shows our strength in depth that we are having to give players like this game time in U23 to keep them sharp - As regarding the fact the U23 lost when you look in a bit more detail at what Forest put it out it puts a narrow 4-3 defeat in context, it wasn't like we were playing schoolkids.
  3. Also.... they should have perhaps told their seat installer to use one of these? either that or there is some weird optical illusion to do with the level of the seat backs in the picture?
  4. I thought I would answer my own question from earlier..... This stuff is based on data from - https://www.flashscores.co.uk/team/bristol-rovers/GILi6JC9/results/ and the league one tables on bbc sport (Sorry any gas reading for using facts) League One matches where a Bristol Rovers opponent has been reduced to 10 men: Rochdale (A) Draw Gillingham (H) Win Fleetwood (H) Win Shrewsbury (H) Draw So 8 points gained against sides with 10 men across 4 matches They have played a total of 31 league one matches this season "amassing" (sic) 33 points Their ppg against 10 men = 8pts / 4 matches = 2 ppg Their ppg against 11 men = 25pts / 27 matches = 0.92 ppg You would usually expect a higher ppg in games against 10 men of course, but the difference for the gas feels huge - maybe someone with more knowledge than myself could say if that is really the case? My conclusion is if they play against 11 for the rest of the season, and don't improve their form things could look very bleak for them ? Interestingly despite us feeling they get "lucky" in this regard the following site - http://www.footcharts.co.uk/index.cfm?task=basics_cards contains a tool to look at a league table of for/against cards - pompey have had many matches where opponents are at 10 men. (this site still needs updating for this weekends games)
  5. I wonder how many points they have won against 11 men for 90 minutes this season - seems like they always need help from the referee.
  6. I can see why Tinner was gloating..... Belter! vs
  7. Since we are not involved in the FL trophy anymore (hooray!) I must admit I have not followed the competition too closely in recent years. Of course I know they now have prem youth/reserve teams in it - which is an utter farce! and fair play to all the fans (incl gas) that stay away in protest. From comments here though it seems like Pompey are still in the competition as are the Gas (and Sunderland? plus one other team right?). So is the competition still regional? - Is it the case it will be a Pompey vs Gas regional final over two legs (home and away)? If so I cannot help thinking any thoughts the fewers have over even getting to "Wembly" at this stage are premature at best. I am sure they will all be saying that Oxford beat Pompey at the weekend, but nothing in their respective league form suggests that they will definitely come out on top against Pompey over a two-legged regional final. The comments posted on here from gaschat seem to suggest that a few of the gas fans think they are guaranteed a spot at the final
  8. Kind of, yes I think if it does transpire in future that the Taylor transfer was the straw that broke the camels back then Steve Lansdown should be given a Knighthood for services to football and the Bristol community?
  9. Rudolf - That is a £10M/ "silly money" striker - Darrell Clarke and the fewers said so! BTW does anyone else feel that until they day we bought him they may not have been "coming for us" but did seem to be on an somewhat upward trajectory (generally speaking). Since that day though they have sold many of their assets for a pittance and without investment they seem to be headed for relegation and potentially admin.
  10. Is Dopey Darrell now posting on their forum? or is this just typical "gas echo chamber" shite spouted by some fewer with a lower IQ than rovers have points. Isn't this phrase exactly what DC said used to say after their many defeats of recent times along with some other crap like "my fans have been brilliant" Yeah brilliant!
  11. Any of these would be great. Just think about it. Harry Redknapp would have the entering admin in no time. With Darrel gone he'd be safe to bring his own accountant too.
  12. 1 Bristol City (C, P) 46 29 12 5 96 38 +58 99 Promotion to Football League Championship Not good enough clearly!- the issue being this was done with a clear strategy of buying some of the best league one players and assembling a small but none the less high quality squad, that takes a proper budget something he would never get at "ragass rovers"
  13. Lee has always helped out his dad with loan players I think Gary being there and that situation continuing would be "unpopular" to say the least
  14. Just watch the sags on gaschat suggest some totally unrealistic options - their famous over optimism about the state of their "club" will come to the fore guaranteed. I am half expecting comments along the lines of "we could get Copello for sure! - we are da sixth richest club in world - unlucky da shit!" etc etc, I am fully expecting them to suggest a whole host premier/championship managers way out of their league (literally). The truth is they haven't got a pot to piss in, and I genuinely expect they will struggle to find a decent league manager* - anyone worth their salt will surely take a look at what has gone before, they will see Dopey's recent interviews about them being destitute and start to ask serious questions * just for clarity for any sags reading this the league is four divisions not five!
  15. I have posted a few times the actual "gas attendance" for that match was most likely in the region of 32K. This was based on earlier tickets sales that were reported in local papers about 1 week prior to the fixture. I have no idea why there are no more sales figures announced just before the game in either the Bristol or Grimsby press or by the clubs involved. However by perpetuating this myth rovers are in fact debunking one of their other favourite myths e.g. the one that "they are the most loyal fans" in Bristol/Engalnd/World. So some approximate figures Our average attendance (20K) based as a percentage of 40K fans at Wembley = 50% ish Their average attendance (8K) based as a percentage of 40K (mythical) fans at Wembley = 20% ish Seems to me the "loyalty thing" is very much a lie
  16. from - http://www.expatarrivals.com/middle-east/jordan/doing-business-jordan " values like respect, friendship and trust are paramount in business dealings and personal matters alike. " basically it sounds like DC is throwing the owners under the bus, that might not go down well.
  17. You too would have a bad back if you had been carrying all 10 outfield players all season. My understanding is he had been MotM quite a few times, probably more than his fair share. Still he is probably back in London getting treated by his parent club. Given how "professional" the fewers are in everything they do, I would expect Brentford were probably less than enthusiastic at letting rovers (no doubt "championship ready") medical team loose on one of their young players.
  18. Which aspects? The free kick taken with a moving ball from the wrong place? Or something else?
  19. At that kind of prolific rate he could be up to enough goals to count on the fingers of one hand - assuming his contract is at least 3 or 3.5 years. Six if you are a gashead - five for the rest of us
  20. This is brilliant from gaschat on a thread about their "prolific" £300K+ striker 5 minutes ago Antonio Fargas said: To be fair, he wasn't part of the problem, tonight. There's a lot that needs to get sorted out before we need to worry about Nichols, atm. Whisper it quietly because it offends people but he is in good form. Like it or not.
  21. The gas are just a non-league team "in training" (I hope!)
  22. Fixed that for you Hello visiting saggies - how does it feel that you are now below Crawley in the pecking order! Coming for us still?
