  1. No snow in Ashton, but the surrounding areas are white.  The game will certainly be on and most of us will be there. Some of the sheep from the valleys might not find travelling so easy though but the trains should be OK provided that it's not the wrong kind of snow.

I had a dream last night that Mehmeti would have a decent game and actually produce some output.  Dreams can be so ridiculous, can't they.

If he plays, we need to clatter O'Dowda early on as he is a bit of a baby and it will be interesting to see Fam again and what reception we give him (I guess he will probably be up for it today).

We really need to put the ghosts of the last couple of games to bed and everyone needs to put in a decent shift today.  I'm predicting a City win.

    I've looked at Cardiff's forum. They are all looking forward to the return from injury of ...... Callum O'Dowda, even if only a sub. One quote is;

providing o'dowda hasnt regressed in skill, he will be a huge lift to our transition and attacking play

Spent most of his career returning from an injury as far as I can remember.

  3. This squad needs motivating and I don't get the impression that Manning is the motivational type TBH.  This squad needs someone like Colin to give it a kick up the backside ,but he is well past it now and not the type of yes man the current board would be remotely interested in.

The players seem to lack any conviction or belief at the moment

Tactically, he looks like a mid to lower end of the table type of manager, but probably needs to be judged after his proverbial first 3 transfer windows.

I think that despite the lack of any backing from the board and having his best players sold, without adequate replacements most of us believe that Nige still had us heading in the right direction but I'm not sure quite what direction we are going in at the moment and SL and JL will never admit that they were wrong even if things get a lot worse despite the majority of City fans saying "we told you so".

  4. He's got new toys to play with now and got bored of his old one and passed it down to his son to run it into the ground.

It's very sad to see the direction this club is heading in at the moment and it is without doubt in need of fresh blood and capital at the top.

The only consolation is that things are always worse on the other side of the river 😀

I've worked with companies where it's a family business, sycophants worming their way to the top position. Whenever anyone of experience and presence came in, the stooge would always be in the owners ear telling them they don't know what they're doing.

Then they'd remove them and hire someone who would do the work in the way they wanted and wouldn't answer back. Funnily enough they would then blame them as well when things inevitably started to get worse.

Did you work for Hargreaves Lansdown?

  6. When Nige (very much against the wishes of most of us)was sacked they told us they wanted a more hands on manager but I think we may have ended up with one with his hands down his trousers.

For the record QPR last week and Wednesday today were down to poor motivation and lack of commitment.  We were up for it against Southampton, West Ham and Forest but can't seem to summon it up for the bread and butter matches or games not being televised.

  7. May be a bit early.  I don't usually switch on until 30 mins before the game.  I've seen nothing to suggest that it will not be broadcast.

I've sometimes found logging in from a different country can work too, which seems odd.  I've also been unable to l watch games via google chrome lately and have been having to use Micro$oft Edge.

  8. I'm predicting that after a spirited display against Forest, Normal service will be resumed today with another negative league performance.  All that I know is that our strikers will be dire (all have the ability to miss sitters that my elderly Nan would have struggled to miss).

Do the players have cocoa rather than energy drinks at half time these days?

I think Boro will probably take all 3 points so will be happy to come away with a draw TBH.

If we drop too many more points, we will be focusing more on the drop zone that the top six.

  9. As someone who was there on that night in 1977 (a game I will never forget) Coventry away always has a special meaning for me even though it is at the Coventry Building Society Arena (is that the Ricoh?) rather than Highfield Road.

Let's hope that we see the same spirit we saw against West Ham and Forest and that the poor darlings have not become exhausted fromplaying2games in a week and decided have a cocoa before the game to step off the gas for 90minutes.

Think I read somewhere that Mark Sykes may be fit enough for a few minutes too.

Kasey Palmer is apparently in good form and full of energy but Jay DaSilva is not first choice left back at the moment.

Off to Barcelona shortly to watch the game in a little more comfort than in 1977.

  10. max has played fairly well but when he came into the side his distribution was really quick and we were often breaking away as a result.  Now he takes much too long to release the ball.  He also needs to spend a bit of time learning to catch a football as he spills quite a few that he really shouldn't.

  11. The trick with throw ins is taking them quickly before the markers get into position.  I see our players with the ball looking around and wait and wait until nobody is unmarked.  It can also be an advantage with free kicks, though some referees seem to have an aversion to that.

  12. Does Twine start today or get introduced on 65 mins?  Who does he replace?

How about McCrorrie?  Do we play a back 3/5 like against West Ham or go back to the tried and trusted back 4 that seemed to lack creativity?

Do we start on the front foot or go back to left 2 3, right 2 3, back to the keeper 2 3, hoof it up the field and give it away mentality?

Lots of questions for me, but 3 points could put us well in contention.

Next year's accounts isn't going to look too great are they with all the hiring and firing we have done. Pearson alone got a huge payout. Obviously we have saved on wages and any bonuses, but he certainly walked away set up for life.

How can that be?  I thought NP only had 6 months left on his contract, so not sure if that amounts to a massive payout unless some other skullduggery was afoot.

Not sure which year the money we received or are to receive for Semenyo and Scott might appear as I guess instalments, addons and sell on clauses  were probably involved.
