It's often the Lansdown Stand that has the lowest occupancy rate, given ticket prices no surprise and also it is the biggest stand

E34, E29, E28 all listed as being sold out although time will tell.

Could never understand why the tickets are so much more expensive in the Lansdown compared to the Dolman really.

The thing I find most irritating though is all the empty seats in the prawn sandwich section.

3,000 droning Yam yams will give us an atmosphere todays and I hope we are able to outsing the whining sods.

I do confess to being a bit worried about this one though seeing that they were good enough to take 3 points off Leeds last week.

I certainly think we have goals in us, the question is do we have the control and craft in midfield to give us a platform to create said goals. Naismith return should help, midfield on Saturday without both Naismith and Scott looked a bit flawed.

I expect Sykes can chip in a few too e.g. showed some signs e.g. times last season even if his season was a bit stop-start at times due to two unlucky bans.

2 shots on target on Saturday might suggest otherwise Mr P and generally in competitive games our shots ratios have been pretty poor for some time.  We may be able to put them away in friendlies against lower league opposition but that changes when the important games come around.

I've also noticed that most of our shots look quite tame.  Either our players generally don't have powerful shots or they chose not to let ripwhen they could do so.

  3. Alex Scott may turn out to be a £100m player in a few years.  Equally, had we kept him, he could have got a major injury and ended up worth next to nothing.  He may also not have improved as much as people expect, so a deal worth £25m is pretty good for all parties I think even though I would have loved to see him stay.

Let's hope that the money is spent wisely on players who will significantly improve the sqad rather than bring in players who are no better than what we have as has been done in the past.

We really need a centre back, midfielder and a striker before the window closes but I doubt we will get all three.

Is Kalas not already a free agent?

I believe he has been out of contract since 30 June, so is presumably free to sign for whichever team he wishes.

I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong.

That's correct as far as we know and it's a big surprise that he hasn't signed for someone else.  At 30 years of age, he needs to maximise the last few years of his income especially with his liking for fast expensive cars.

The thing is that he is settled in Bristol and his partner comes from Bristol, so maybe if he can't find another suiter, he might come to an agreement with BCFC on realistic terms .

  5. So we are expecting an attendance of around 25k?  Always get a good crowd for the first game and if we perform well, the crowds will stay high, so a good display will be vital to our income stream.

Not sure whether we will see any of the new boys - Roberts maybe?  Has Alex Scott really got a knock or is a transfer imminent?

Looking forward to the season despite the number of sicknotes we have already before it even kicks off.

  6. I'm hoping that this is not the starting lineup for next week as if I was picking the team, Tanner, King and Cornick would probably not be in my first 11 and I would probably have selected Conway rather than Bell.

That's not to say they are bad players, just that we have better, fitter and generally more able players in the squad.

Maybe the HT changes will give us a better idea of who Nigel intends to start next week.

  7. As someone who chose to use the samsung wallet rather than the google wallet, it is a bit disappointing that the digital season card was not made available for both (or perhaps it is and I didn't notice).

  8. I can see why Alex would love to play for Spurs as the team he supports but that would really be a bad move for him as he may not get the game time he needs to develop.

All the talk about Wolves and Bournemouth is interesting, but I still think that West Ham will come in with a late offer with the money from selling Declan Rice burning a hole in their pocket.

For Alex himself at his age, money should not be his main concern.  He needs to go somewhere he is likely to get game time or stay put for another year and continue his development here.

Pretty factual up to a point and then he has to ruin it by guessing at their non league final attendance, bizarre.

Even worse, not only were there 40k sags in the stadium but also another 4 million locked out.

Back in the real world they have nowhere near 40k fans and I think they might struggle to cunjure up 10k with a bit of exaggeration.

  10. Not really much to play for for us as we are mid table and unlikely to be going up or down with few games left, though either are still mathematically possible. Very different for Boro though as they are 4th and still hoping for an automatic spot.

Our players will just be playing for their places, to be in contention for next season and maybe contracts in some cases.

Still as usual looking forward to 5.30 and hoping for a decent performance from us.  At least the forecast is fine after 3:00 p.m. albeit somewhat windy.

For those unable to make the game, you will either need to watch on Sky, NowTV or find a dodgy stream (I'm sure there will be a few).

  11. I reckon he is the ******* child of Callum O'dowda and Nicolas Eliason ? Not the best we've seen him today but exciting watch. Hoping for an increase in end product.

  12. I was wodering what an AI chatbot could tell me about their supporters and this is what it said:

There have been incidents of violence involving Bristol Rovers fans in the past. In 2017, a woman was seen “punching a police horse” during a fight outside a pub following Bristol Rovers’ 1-0 defeat to Oxford1. In 2022, a man was found guilty of punching a police horse during a football game at Bristol Magistrates Court and has now received a football banning order for three years and over £1,000 in fines2.

Is there anything else you would like me to find?

  13. With Mehmeti, I can see why we signed him.  I see effort and skill but limited output that we (and he) can maybe address. With Harry Cornick, I can't see anything positive in his play and remain at a loss to understand what our scouts were able to see that I can't.

To be fair, our forwards have not been receiving much support from midfield of late and I have noticed with Cornick that when he gets the ball, there seems to be little on for him in that there is nobody around him getting into space or any easy/obvious passes on.

From a formation perspective, I really don't know what suits us best.  It seems that when we change it, it seems to work, then in a couple of games the other teams work us out, so we may need to keep them guessing and mix it up a bit (even though it's nice to see a settled team and formation in an ideal world).

This season is probably a write off now and we need to concentrate on building something for bext year (probably without Alex Scott but with one or two incoming to improve things).  The frustrating thing is that the next few games would have been so much more exciting had we not thrown away some of the matches we should have got points from and been 8 or 9 more points further up the table.

Clearly so cross. Seriously, you want to get a ******* life. This is just a guy adjusting to a new club and a new enviroment and sometimes these things take time.

If he turns out to not be the deal, so what. But give the ****** a chance ffs.

People on here like you make me pig sick, they really do.

But then again, I remember this time last year when it was all about how shit Zak Vyner was (and now he's heading for possible player of the season)

You seem to never learn, but maybe you just enjoy being *****.

Support the team, support the players, especially the new ones, and stop acting like spoilt children who want it all and want it all NOW.

You're an idiot, and I have no regret with saying that.

Grow the **** up or please just stop posting unwarrented bullshit about players that you haven't a jack shit scooby about.

Jesus, spouting abuse like that and you call someone else an idiot ?
