  1. Not that difficult a concept to grasp really and tremendous fun
  2. I think that NP is 100% correct about terrible decisions such as giving or not giving a penalty decision or a sending off decision. You can work as hard as you like, get the best players available, build a team and club only for an ineffectual ref or linesman to eff it all up. The Championship works on such incredibly fine margins around both the play off positions and the relegation positions. Any number of points lost in one game can be the difference between a crack at the Prem for some or the trap door to L1 for others. I'm pleased he said it and hope it leads to something more than a footnote on Skysports. However, the comments about chucking the towel in at BCFC as a result is unsettling and does nothing to help those of us who have question marks about Nige's position at our club. Every time I start seeing NP through @Davefevsglasses, the bloody lenses fall out.
  3. Sorry- I should have done you a series of graphs and pointy arrows ?
  4. Well.... there's a scene where the paranormal investigation team tell the family about their most successful investigation where a toy car was measured to have moved about a quarter of an inch in 12 hrs They then get to go to "the bedroom". I'm more of the bedroom type of guy.
  5. Dave, have you ever watched Poltergeist the Steven Spielberg movie?
  6. apart from that? and dont you dare mention aqueducts, irrigation, medicine, sanitation, wine. peace , order or education.
  7. Anyways @lenred- welcome back after a 5 month absence from posting comments on here and glad you're still absolutely as polarised about NP as you always were- there's no middle ground for you and I do love consistency in such a volatile forum. Hopefully you'll be able to overcome your embarrassment and post some more?
  8. Be specific - or become your own joke
  9. I think Andi Weimann has been brilliant for BCFC since he signed for us. The fact that he scoring so regularly is fantastic but is this down to NP? Why not mention Scott and Semenyo .... (also signed by Lee Johnson) Yes a win on the weekend will help the mood but please remember that NP has created a record of the longest lack of back to back wins..... and the longest ever lack of home wins so after a year and a half of poor results we get quite excited with a win. So - a great night and a good win but over the top reactions like yours invariably perpetuate the over the top reactions that we've seen after two losses and a draw. Nige has done nothing in the league so far so I dont get your "turning point" comment. Another 3 losses and ...meltdown relegation .... another 3 wins and we've won the league.
  10. My Cornish holiday is gurt lush. Even better than Severn beach. It's a proper job by City We will win drekly.
  11. Top Cat! The most effectual! Top Cat! Who's intellectual!* Close friends get to call him "T.C.," Providing it's with dignity! Top Cat! The indisputable leader of the gang. He's the boss, he's a VIP, he's a championship. He's the most tip top, Top Cat. Yes, he's the chief, he's a king, But above everything, He's the most tip top, Top Cat! source: https://www.lyricsondemand.com/tvthemes/topcatlyrics.html
  12. What's the deal with Massengo scapegoatism? He has it in him to change a game- if he's still genuinely wanting to play for BCFC . He's bigger than his hair but NP is the best judge of whether he's worth a starting place.
  13. Luton are there for the taking like a ripe low hanging plum. We will beat them by several goals and continue our upward ascent towards the summit of this Division. Easy game, no worries and happy days.
  14. cost of living crisis, mortgage payments up, monkey pox, inflation out of control, national strikes,NHS in crisis energy rationing and mass unemployment. Happy Monday everyone
  15. Apparently not or if we do it's the best kept secret in football. Lose another 6 or 7 matches and I suspect that SL will pull the plug on NP so is unlikely to give him a massive war chest to rebuild if there was one- which there isnt. As for the OP - if any club in the universe is ready to spend £25-£30 million on Scott right now then SL would not even blink before accepting. The reality is that there hasnt been a bid and if there is one in the next 2 weeks then I expect it will fall well short of this mythical £25 million and well short of what is required. Even if we sell all the mentioned players- there is absolutely no guarantee they can be replaced and certainly not in this window.
  16. What a very silly post, just absolutely daft on a monumental scale. Any money which comes in is not going into anyone's back pocket. We have a club which makes huge losses, we are in fear of FFP breaches, SL has been funding a loss making business for years whilst investing huge sums in the infrastructure. You clearly demonstrate a total ignorance of what is going on at this club.
  17. A perfectly fair question. My expectation of any Manager ( given our circumstances) after several transfer windows and 1 1/2 years is that there are incremental improvements- that there are clear indications that the team performances are improving, that the same mistakes are not being repeated, that the Manager is giving the team an identity and the fans something to buy into. It's not just me that feels the above is just not happening. If we were looking at this 3 game season in the League so far then its ridiculous to take this in isolation but when taken in context with the 63 previous games- it's hardly a knee jerk reaction. My original comment was purely in respect of anyone, who for their own reasons or agenda , no longer see NP as the answer and should be allowed their opinion without having to name his successor- speculation that is as irrelevant as it is pointless.
  18. @Davefevs You stated that people had put so much of a rider on one game. I answered that it wasnt just one game- it was a culmination of over 60 games spread across 2 part seasons and one full one. I get the steadying of the ship reference, I understand legacy issues . There are many ,if not the majority, of Championship clubs who are having real issues off the field when it comes to financial sustainability. I can't see where the tangible on field improvement is. NP has also managed to break a few unpleasant records along the way and defensive frailties are baffling along with players out of position and substitutions. I really think that after having lost over half his 66 games whilst winning 18 in one and a half years as Manager , fans are not over reacting when they question the performances. There aren't too many Managers who have had as much "slack" as Nigel Pearson has at our club.
  19. Dave - it's not just one game and you full well know that. It's now over 60 games over 3 seasons ( part of) and you have taken an increasingly polarised position on all things Pearson and have invariably given a seemingly credible argument why he has been, is and will be the right man to take City forward. This despite much indication to the contrary. This season will either vindicate your legion of pro- Pearson posts or ...well... you know, otib can be quite unforgiving!
