  1. It really is both very funny and a bit sad when someone who knows very very little about money and wealth starts gobbing off about someone else's wealth from a position of total ignorance. Firstly 1 billion is 1000,000,000 not, as you say: 1000,000,000,000- you just made him the richest man on the planet. Secondly you say he has had that 20+ years- WRONG ! On the basis that HL's IPO was in 2007 that's less than 15 years although the share price only made him a billionaire after 2014 ( 8 years) . Thirdly as for "WE" used to own the club, the land and the bit around it (whatever the hell that means) NO WE DIDNT!! Us fans have never owned the club, the stadium or any land. Some us bought shares about 25 years ago which totalled less than 1% of issued shares. The only point you make which is accurate is " Look, it's his money , he earned it" Are you some sort of Corbynite policeman that decides how a self made man should spend his money? That if he makes profits ancilliary to BCFC that they should in some way be lumped in to all things BCFC? It's a point that is often made by those having a pop at SL and is more anti capitalist or sheer jealousy than anything else. As to buying a game reserve in Botswana- Why? Mainly because he can and it's none of your effing business!
  2. It's a big game. Not just for Nige and his future but for our position going forward. I'm in the Nige needs to move on camp( no surprise) but I'd much prefer 3 points tomorrow than to see the end of his tenure and any so called fans who think that a loss will be good in that it means Nige's dismissal is basically not a supporter. This team is capable of beating Watford and they need to step up and do so- for us supporters at the very least. They owe us one.
  3. So- the clamour from so very many posters on here for many many years has been for SL to get his chequebook out- SL a man rich enough but lacking ambition. How many times have I read about how we must buy a striker and that SL has just got to put his hand in his pocket. The threat of revolution if SL didn't step up to purchase Lee Tomlin and fans speaking of the consequences if he didnt. Similar about Nigel Pearson. Trouble is with football fans is that we only sing when we're winning. Steve Lansdown- Mr Bristol City, legend, benefactor, refreshingly British, self made but not beyond mistakes. He's been a good and honest owner and I'm grateful for that but I guess I don't feel so self entitled as others who have forgotten 1982, forgotten the years in Div 4 and Div 3. I'm not enjoying being a BCFC fan at the moment but all I have to do is remember games like Aldershot etc and the bogs in the Dolman and seeing the gas ahead of us. to bring me back to present day and a much better club.
  4. "I've been supporting City since before I was born and this the worst team I have seen since the 17th Century" "Un-sackable" "Un-droppable" "Sunday Downs league" "I told you this would happen"
  5. 60% voting for a change and 40% is not equal . However, OTIB has proved on a number of occasions that being such a small % of fans -it is not always representative. Votes from 200 people - some of whom may well live abroad or for whatever reason don't or can't be active supporters- is not really anything more than a bit of fun. A poll for season ticket holders would be the litmus test but still largely irrelevant because 1 man decides not 15000 supporters.
  6. How on earth are we supposed to know what/who is a realistic option? This is just not within our knowledge and anyone who states that they know what SL can or can't fund is guessing. Obviously the exception is that a hugely successful Premiership Manager ( or similar) is not possible. Mark Robins may be possible but only SL/the board will know this. For all those saying City are a basket case clearly haven't been to our stadium or Training centre or are unable to appreciate the work in the Academy. Or the amount of fans who usually turn up and the extra amount who make a showing when we are doing ok to well. We're a good club and a quick look at most Championship Clubs will confirm this. Our plight to stick within FFP whilst reducing losses is no different to most clubs who aren't getting PP. SL has been and is a good owner and has built a solid club with his own personal money. Should he decide it's time for a change then there will be some willing candidates but the rest is entirely speculation. In the case of those maintaining that the only possible man for the job remains Nigel Pearson are delusional.
  7. Hahaha! It's YOUR list- you decided who was on it. So others have mentioned Mark Robins and Steven Schumaker yet they dont appear and would be seemingly obvious should SL call it a day with Nige. The fact that you produce your own list, call it depressing and then say it shows that people who want NP out need to consider (your) alternatives is just an agenda. Any genuine fan will have wanted NP to succeed- hell, no matter who is appointed surely any regular fan who attend matches want success even if it's Tiny Pulis . The fact is , in his third season associated with BCFC, over 80 matches at the helm and a poor return with little evidence of progression any other Manager would have already gone. Although the poll represents a tiny tiny tiny % of fans who actually attend matches- almost 70% want someone else so that says a great deal of where we are if it translates to the wider fan base.
  8. His last success was in 2014 He has failed in every job since (according to his employers) resulting in his sacking. He has indeed got immense experience but for 8 years he has achieved nothing. His time at BCFC has been mixed in that I believe he has done some good off the field but little on it. Only SL can decide whether now is time to call it a day with a new appointment but the timing of making such a move does seem right.
  9. Well- you're doing a jolly lot of conversing but I accept that you can't back up your delusional posts. Take a chill pill and it will all seem better in the morning.?
  10. NAME ONE Your posts are increasingly irrational and I keep asking you to quote me on what you say I've said and even offered £100 to charity if you can quote where I have assassinated Nige's character. You are fast becoming Nige's useful idiot
  11. He clearly would love for some other grillionaire to step in but that doesnt seem likely. I'm relieved that we have SL's backing. Even if the team/manager/results are not to our liking- I still think that there has been money well spent on infrastructure, stadium and training facilities.
  12. RG said it will be c.£20 million this time around. SL walks and we are Bury( and buried).
  13. Come on- you can do better than that! Well.... maybe not! And for the record: I'll donate £100 to a charity of your choice if you can quote me where I made a post in which I assassinated NP's character or any other Manager. Pretty much from the get go, I have been unconvinced of Nige's ability to improve the team and unconvinced by the majority of his performances, his game management and his substitutions. And his results as Manager of BCFC speak for themselves.
  14. You'll just have to wait and see. The clue is that for all your unwavering support for Nige and all those who equally feel you are increasingly delusional- none us buggers have a say either way. BCFC is not a democracy, it's an autocracy.
  15. I think that Williams gets crocked so often that , in reality, no one would be surprised. However. when we lose at home 3-1 to Lincoln bloody City having always looked like the poorer side then everyone is going to have an opinion. Mine being right, of course.
  16. So with one game before the World Cup - why didnt we play our best team , win the game ( which we almost certainly would) and then bring on our yoof once we were comfortable? Or questions like that.
  17. Possibly and if wasn't for the refs etc we'd be in the play offs !
  18. Errr.... I think you'll find that you have as pro NP as you were anti LJ.
  19. So- later on after the match- you guys get the pop corn and I can provide some entertainment.
  20. Two things 1) Massengo isn't exactly one of our best players 2) I can't criticise NP's decision to play a player who wants to have a career at City as opposed to one who doesnt.
